  1. Fuck Seth Rollins.

on the other hand, I’d probably be acting like an entitled, pretentious piece of shit too, if ratings and attendance were this bad while I was the supposed top guy. And all the money in the world won’t buy him a crowd reaction like the one Mox got at “Double or Nothing.” Rollins wants so badly to be cool, like Mox and those guys he claims to have never seen, and he’s just...not. He’s the corporate babyface desperately masquerading as the rebel. His catch phrase is “burn it down,” yet he wouldn’t dare light a match without Daddy H’s permission. He’s the personification of everything wrong with WWE, and seeing him get dragged on the internets for it is amusing...

  2. I'll say it again; Seth Rollins isn't a main eventer. He isn't capable of carrying the load for his company. I thought the Lacey thing was a good idea in theory, but she's just so thoroughly mediocre. Everything about her seems so forced, both in the ring and when she was the referee.

Bayley and Alexa have good chemistry. Was it a scientific masterpiece? No. Was it a fun story with some good spots from both women and a finish that advanced the Nikki Cross/Alexa deal? Yeah.

That Ali video was weird as fuck.

I liked using Kofi's athleticism in the finish. I really hope that's the last meeting for the two, but I have a feeling it won't be.

Heavy Machinery/ Eco-Warriors was awesome. Not a workrate spectacle, but a good way to use one super-over performer to get three other guys over, albeit to varying degrees.

    I liked Ricochet/Joe, too.

There's a few things.  Supposedly Alexa went around NXT talking about how she grew up a big fan and all this shit and they knew she was lying about all of it.  Sasha said that she doesn't need to be a fan at all but the fact that she lied about it and wasn't being true to herself was a turnoff for some people.  But Sasha also broke Alexa's nose in a match way back when so it wasn't just one thing, it was various things dating back years.

Sasha doesn’t get to make the decision about who deserves what. Alexa’s a better sports entertainer than her, and Sasha being offended because Alexa supposedly didn’t know which Hardy was which does nothing but make Sasha come off as pretentious and spoiled.

  4. Alexa and Becky are scheduled for Raw house shows this summer, iirc. The “Alexa in Nikki’s corner” thing could be a way to bring Sasha back, too. There’s also a part of me that thinks Vince could be like “put the Smackdown title on a Raw woman, pal! They’ll never expect it! It’s such good shit!”

  5. I remember when the Alexa/Trish match was announced and Sasha made a stink on Twitter. I thought to myself “Sasha’s mad because Alexa’s having the career Sasha thinks she should be having.” That was a very interesting line in that promo last night. And I do wonder if there’s bad feelings between Bayley and Alexa going back to nXt or Bayleys burial a couple years back. Or just because Sasha and Bayley are so close. I think the play is Nikki costing Alexa the match and then Lex turning on her, but a Bayley/Alexa double turn wouldn’t shock me either.

Kofi is great. That is all.

Dug the Mandy & Sonya vs. Ember thing. Nice to see them get the women on the show.

Hey, what’s worse than being bored to tears by Seth Rollins every week? Being bored to tear by Seth Rollins twice in a week.

  6. On what planet is Seth Rollins “edgy?” He’s a 50 yr old ad exec’s idea of edgy. That’s part of my gripe with him. He is the least credible tough guy they’ve ever tried to push as a tough guy. He’s the Pat Boone version of “Johnny B. Goode.” It’s the same sheet music, but it ain’t the same song.

Part of it is also that that he embodies everything that’s wrong w wwe’s presentation right now. Every boon period in the business’s history has been ushered in by dynamic characters who could talk people into the building by being themselves turned up to eleven. Seth Rollins isn’t a dynamic personality, he can’t talk people into the building, and yet I’m supposed to believe that he’s a guy who could’ve beaten an explanation out of Dean Ambrose? C’mon.

Sure, he has good matches with the right opponent. But there’s 80 guys in the company who can do that, and they don’t come off like smug hipsters with a gym membership.

  7. That’s probably fair. Rollins’ act is awful, but it’s probably not all his fault. I’m sure part of my criticism of him is based on my personal taste, rather than reality. He’s a great athlete. Prodigious, even. There’s just nothing about his moveset or promo delivery that separates him at all, and nothing about him that I can identify that would cause a lapsed fan or casual viewer to seek him out.

Someone needs to tell the live audiences at these shows that Rollins isn’t a star so they’ll stop being so fuckin’ loud for him.

Who else is there? And why can’t he hold a television audience to save his life?

Caught the first hour of this, and read the rest of the results to catch up.

That elimination match to start off the show in the place of a shitty scripted public conversation between two people who have no business reciting lines, was excellent. I didn’t like babyface Ricochet accepting heel Lashley, and heel Cesaro’s help in defeating Strowman without any recourse.

The Seth angle was some of the strongest booking they’ve done with him since Wrestlemania. Took them fucking long enough to present somebody who’s holding your main belt as a star. The whole shows reads like a response to AEW, the booking in general, and the criticism of the way they’ve neglected the call ups. But it feels like one of those condescending responses that Vince, and creative like to do. “See here, are the Viking Raiders. We know they still exist”, but then they make them seem like afterthoughts by having a 24/7 segment immediately following their squash. Like why not have them excessively beat up the jobbers afterwards to the point that makes them scarier?

The problem is that Rollins just isn’t a star. He can’t convincingly sound or present himself as a guy any grown man would be afraid to step outside with. All the shitty superplex spots in the world don’t mean a thing if they’re done by a guy who can’t cut a promo without sounding like an entitled douche.

Sarah probably will get punished for your first sentence, so I bet no one hears from her for another two or three months.

If the Rock were her cousin, she'd get a push, but he isn't so yeah, she might be screwed...

  11. They want Seth Rollins to come off like some sort of badass in the worst way, but he just isn’t that guy. Even a little bit. He wasn’t meant to “walk tall.”

i love the Alexa/Nikki stuff, because it’s good for them, and because I think Nikki accidentally costs Lex the match, so the title can stay on Bayley. Everyone comes out without their characters shit on.

That firefly funhouse was fucking awesome.

  12. I think AEW is gonna need a bigger roster than we maybe think, because I think one of the things they’re gonna do to be different is not have guys on tv every week. Moxley talked about it a bit on Keller’s podcast. If the top guys aren’t wrestling every single week, there’s more room for talent, necessitating guys like the Revival, the Good Brothers, Dillinger, the inevitable Ryder signing, et al.

  13. Not sure why people are assuming Alexa is gonna retire. I mean, I get it. I personally would have her get through about six weeks of tag matches with Nikki without a concussion before I booked her in high profile shit again, but they clearly see her as a big star and she's gonna be on top until she can't go anymore. (Insert joke here). I think Bayley gets DQ'ed, or Nikki costs Alexa the match, and their program stays on RAW. If I were booking Smackdown I'd have Bayley go through all the people who have done harm to her career in the past. Have her just whack the shit out of Lex with a kendo stick, have her finally beat Asuka. Have her beat Charlotte clean. Then, if you can get her, do the Bayley/Sasha match on the main roster. The good one. Not the one's they've had.
