  1. @technico support I thought that about JR too. Was waiting for the "quick twitch" euphemism...
  2. Well, I know if it were the PG 13 era you'd be limited to one (1) "f-bomb..."
  3. Also, TIL that if someone tags you in a post and you have them on ignore, you don’t get a notification. I’m not sure why anyone would need to know that, but if you didn’t know, now you do. Also, if Andrade’s one of those people who hates working for AEW, you wouldn’t know it from what he gave Saturday. I’d love for him to be the next TNT champion…
  4. I’m really hoping Rated FTR is a thing sooner rather than later…
  5. I knew I forgot something. I liked it, by and large. ZSJ isn't always my cup of tea, but I really liked how he and Danielson worked together, and I liked the finish.
  6. I know you're all on the edge of your seats, so here you go; By the time the show rolled around, I had talked myself into thinking it was a good idea for Julia Hart to take the TBS Title off of Statlander. Part of me still thinks it would've been the right call. If no one else has said it, I don't think anyone on AEW's roster has improved as much over the last 18 months as Julia Hart. She's sneaky athletic and she has her character down pat. I also enjoy Brody as the "menacing caretaker." Hopefully Hart gets more to do. She's terrific. This ROH Tag Title match had exactly the right amount of Adam Cole. I still think the smart play was getting the Tag Titles off of MJF and do a modified version of whatever their endgame is when Cole is healthy. MJF is tremendous. Prodigious. Just an absolute master of character and ring work. Pay him whatever it takes to keep him long term. Eddie Kingston is my hero. I don't think I connect as viscerally with anyone as I do with him. What an absolute snugboat of a match. Imagine my surprise at the Young Bucks winning this match. Who needs interesting character work or a basic display of ring psychology and competent match layout when you can just do MOVEZ and smirk into the camera, right? They were by far the least interesting outcome, but I guess the "E" in "EVP" doesn't stand for "Enteresting..." Swerve/Hanger was exactly my shit. I really dig both guys, and I was very intrigued by the outcome. Like I said the other day, Swerve is a guy I'd be planning to have in the main event this time a year from now. This match and the one that followed featured my bets for guys this company is gonna be built around in 3-5 years. Right guy went over. Starks and Yuta had a lot to measure up to, but had the crowd invested by the end. It's a true testament to Starks' charisma that the audience seems to gain interest as his matches go on. A lot of folks have the opposite trait; that's why I think nxt matches had so many kickouts for so long. It's a guaranteed way to re-engage a tuned out audience. Starks draws audiences in. It's part of the reason I'm so impressed with him. He doesn't need to force interaction with the crowd or scream his own name incessantly. The audience buys in by choice. It's fantastic. Also, Mox ruled ass on commentary. If you disagree you are bad and wrong. FTR Aussie Open was fine. I think FTR set the bar so high that it's hard to care too much. I can't imagine anyone thinking it's a good idea for the Bucks to take the titles off of these guys, but I consistently underestimate their ability to make things about them. Main event was the balls. Just awesome. Everything about it. The Nick Wayne heel turn. The stairs stuff. All of it. And Sexton Hardcastle being All Elite is an awesome next chapter for him. Great ppv.
  7. Do one immediately, then one next year for the 25th. Find out what Terri Runnels is up to. If she shows up, then you could call it the; Second Annual Good to Great Yearly Terri Invitational Tournament. The SAGGY TIT. You know, because they're old. Sorry. I'm in a weird mood this morning. I'll see myself out.
  8. I see some of the folks in here comparing AEW signing Edge to some TNA shit. I feel you. I do. And I don't think you're totally off base. I do think it's worth pointing out that none of the veterans TNA brought in really ever seemed like they wanted to be there. The WCW survivors were there to get paid and the WWE exiles were there trying to turn Vince's attention back to them. Even the people running TNA didn't take TNA seriously. You can easily see how excited Edge is to be there. I'm sure the Brinks truck full of Khan money doesn't hurt, but Edge is a guy who's always been open about his wrestling fandom. I hope TK learned enough from the Punk debacle to know not to put his top title on a guy who's health could spoil at any moment, but it is a huge net positive to have a guy with Edge's enthusiasm and attitude around the young guys in AEW. I'm cautiously optimistic that this will have a different result than when Punk used the phrase "work with young talent" as code for "go over everybody under the guise of helping them."
  9. Eh. If it’s about the bucks or adam Cole chances are I am serious. Hyperbolic, sure, but serious. If it’s some of my more ridiculous shit, I’m messing around. I do turn the channel when Cole is on, unless he’s with someone I really care about.
  10. Good, because I’m full of shit. Have y’all thought I was serious this whole time?
  11. Viewership spiked during the MJF/Knife Guy segment. It’s almost like folks tuned in as soon as Adam Cole left the screen. Hmm. Show was a little talk heavy for my tastes, but I was happy my guy Yutes got to say words. Love that dude. Starks on screen is always good. Not surprised Slapleg Jackson went over. Why make big guys look credible if you’re an EVP? Fenix/Jarrett was really fun. Dug the Swerve/Hanger segment, too.
  12. Honestly, it was worth it since I popped @curtmcgirt in the Discord with my "Slapleg Jackson" joke. I figured he'd win. What's the point of being an EVP if you don't get to go over at will?
  13. Nah. If you do that too much you go blind.
  14. I'd never seen the Righteous, but I was kind of into that vignette on Collision. They seem fun. I hope, as I do with all cult-like gimmicks, that they get the chance to add members. Otherwise. they're a real shitty cult.
  15. I mean, yeah. Then I realize it’s the Internet and I couldn’t care less. A lot of people seemed to enjoy the Bautista thing. If one goof I’ve never interacted with thinks it comes off as pathetic… yeah, I can live with that. Go off though, king.
  16. Oh yeah, the video stores ruled. I rented the 1993 Survivor Series like one thousand times. I LOVED that main event. I was 10. If I ever come off as pretentious, just remind yourself mentally that I unironically loved the 4 Doinks vs. Bigelow, Bastion Booger and the Headshrinkers.
  17. Wait a damn… Are we just gonna gloss over this blatant gimmick infringement? Let me get this straight; after making the grievous, incredibly amusing misstep of accusing me of being Dave Bautista (and I think I speak for everyone when I, Dave Bautista, say, ‘thank you for that,” are you now, in an attempt to alleviate your own blunder, accusing yourself of being Adam Cole? Is that what this is? You should’ve thought this through. You gotta wear this scarlet “L” for the next six months, my Little Friend. In the immortal words of Detective Bunk Moreland; “this is some shameful shit.”
  18. I’m lazy as shit, so I always just quote a whole post. Starks & Swerve would be the matchup I’d be building to as the AEW world title match for next summer. Hand Ricky Starks a blank check if that’s what it takes to keep him around. Those are the two most charismatic guys in the company not named Moxley, and could lead the way moving forward.
  19. Yeah, you gotta believe TK could've kept her if he'd really wanted to. She's fantastic and I wish her luck.
  20. I wish I'd seen that before committing to a new handle for six months lol...
  21. I, Dave Bautista, am glad you enjoyed it. And I, Dave Bautista, have no idea what my Little Friend is referring to. You aren't ignored. I, Dave Bautista, would never...
