Oh and if I go onto the registration screen, the sample video isn't showing either. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be very grateful.

Just getting this screen:
-
Tried it with 3 different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE) same thing all round. Updated Java and Flash Player, doesn't make any difference.
-
For me it just shows the page with the name of the match at top but there's just a white space where the video should be.

Anyone else having problems with Stardom World? nothing on there will play for me at the moment.

Don Bass (aka Outlaw Ron Bass) has died due to cancer
He was 69 or 70 (depending on the source)
Don Bass isn't the same person as Ron Bass. They were brothers, legit or not I don't know. But it is Don Bass that has passed away.
EDIT: Wikipedia has them has Ron and Don Heard so I imagine legit brothers.

This is out early next year. By the co-author of the Montreal book which was excellent.

Small world - I just saw a tweet that they've booked Rey Jr. for a show in freaking Yakima, WA. YAKIMA. There is NOTHING in Yakima, let alone lucha fans. The only notable wrestling thing that ever happened there was Brian Pillman cutting a promo in '97 saying he understood why Kurt Cobain blew his head off.
(Although the main with Austin/Undertaker vs. Owen/Davey Boy was pretty good.)
I remember Nitro being there the day after Spring Stampded '99 and the Luchadores had a great match and were over like Rover. Just looked it up and the city has a 41.3% Latino population.

Anyone know anything about this group? From the late 80s I think. If you've seen the notorious promo with the "The Prince" and Boogaloo Brown, it's from this group. I just watched a mixed tag match involving the same two guys and was very surprised to see Billy Robinson!?! do a run-in at the end.

Thesz's book isn't hard to come by at all. You can get it cheaply on kindle, and fairly cheaply in paperback from Crowbar press.

I was always under the impression film or video didn't exist of it. Maybe someone finally found film of it since I don't think there would be any video. It has it listed at 1983. Wasnt the match in 78?.
October 23rd 1983.
Wikipedia says:
QuoteThe only known footage of the match is owned by noted wrestling historian, Barry Ham.
So presumably WWE bought the footage from him.

Was that when his official name became "the Big Valbowski" or was that a bit later?

For the 2002 Rumble, they announced 4 returning guys for the match, who were Godfather, Goldust, Mr Perfect and one other I forget.
-
It really wasn't a surprise, it was announced several weeks beforehand.

The BBC hate MMA. No way Bisping is in the top 10 that can be voted on on the night. Especially after a highly succesful Olympics for team GB.

How long did Slick manage Rick Martel for in 1989?

The Paige/Del Rio wedding would be great for Total Divas. I can just imagine Daddy Dos, Uncle Mil and the rest of the Del Rio clan coming over to Norwich to attend the nuptials, followed by the reception in the back room of Ricky's local.

LT was certainly blown up at the end of the match, Salt 'n Pepa were pretty much holding him upright and he could barely talk.
That was certainly the weirdest WrestleMania main event. I remember being confused when Diesel vs Shawn came on halfway through and literally having no idea what the final match would be. I had literally never heard of Taylor before he appeared on WWE TV, and from what I remember, that match wasn't promoted as the main match in the build up to the show.

Darsow's facial expressions as Smash seemed to be based on Cesar Romero's Joker so maybe he was running through Batman's rogue's gallery for gimmicks. Did Batman ever face a villainous golfer?

Weren't the Fantastics also in WCW at the beginning of the Nitro era? It seems strange that Tommy didn't go back there for a JTTS role like so many of his contemporaries did.
-
I have a feeling they changed it because of the outcry over Angle's induction.

I think it's 35 years OR 10 years in wrestling. Or at least it was then. I agree that Kurt went in far too early. And probably for the reasons you noted.

Just noticed his T-shirt saying that on prowrestlingtees. Chesterfield is my hometown so it jumped out at me. Bram actually went to the same school as me.
To take a guess where he's got the "plague" thing from: There's a village near here called Eyam that was pretty much wiped out by the black death, spread to there by a package of cloth being sent to a local tailor from London. They quarantined the village successfully so it didn't spread but most of its population was wiped out.

Works on my tablet on same network so it's clearly something to do with the laptop. But I've tried everything. I saw something on reddit which suggested this is something that happens to people in Europe every so often then it just starts working again eventually. I hope that isn't the case becauase it's hard to justify paying for a service which cuts off intermittently.
