  1. Now I'm sad that David wasn't commentating during the NWO. David losing his shit when the NWO destroyed the whole WCW locker room would have been up there with some Jim Ross calls with The Corporation.
  2. Man that ending sure was great for the Royal Rumble go home show. Maybe someone used the wrong scipt ending tonight. Kinda feel bad for everyone cause they probably wanna leave early and beat traffic and here they gotta sit around in gear waiting for that one minute on television on the end of the show that makes no sense what so ever. It would be nice if Team Authority was not the usual suspects aside from Rollins. But yeah the Survivor Series should be nothing but elimination matches. There's plenty of minor feuds to carry a show with nothing but the elimination matches. Plus the teams need the cool names. Henry should have turned heel last night and joined up with Lana. Lana needs a whole stable of superior athletes who just CRUSH for Russia and Putin. I'm honestly getting tired of The Big Show. This is all gonna end with poor Mark getting KO'ed and that will be that.
  3. Did they ever even mention his derring-do with the house robbers? Or leading the YES chants before the NLCS in San Fran? Why would you want to erase a guy like this? Because they are god damned stupid? That's about the best way anyone can put it. I mean this company craves "main stream publicity", but if it's not a guy they want getting that publicity then they don't give a shit. Like if John Cena chased down someone doing a home invasion on him and he put a guy in STF till cops come, you know they would still be talking about that.
  4. I was thinking the same thing. Rusev vs. Brock would be a rather fun spectacle of clubbering. So I was asleep during the first 2/3rd's of this PPV. I'm only pissed Ziggler/Cesaro didn't go the 2/3 falls. Whats the point of having a 2 out of 3 falls match if you don't go 2 out of 3 falls. I woke up in time for Rusev/Big Show. I'm so conflicted for rooting for a Russian against America, but damn Rusev and Lana are so amazing. They easily would be the biggest faces in the company if they weren't against America. That suplex to Big Show was like a legit DAMN moment from me. I was surprised they didn't have Mark Henry turn his back on America. That might have been interesting. AJ/Paige was fun. Torn lace suits Paige well. That leg trip off the barracade to the floor was nasty. I think Paige got legit knocked loopy on that. The HIAC with Ambrose/Rollins was what it was. Would have been nice if Ambrose won before the Bray jedi stuff but its nice to see Bray with signs of life again. You figure at this point, Bray is evil for hire. That's not soo bad. It could be worse for him.
  5. So Punk kept doing the Macho Elbow (and by doing so making him live in constant pain) just to spite people who say his elbow sucked. I actually admire that kind of spitefullness.
  6. I have. I'm content that he'll never wrestle again. That horrible Macho Elbow of his was destroying his hip. I'd rather the guy not need a new hip at 40 than come back and keep doing it.
  7. Man if they called up Bayley just to have her end up becoming a run of the mill crazy chick I would be very upset.
  8. So I watched Cobra for the first time in ages the other night. I got it for like $5 dollars at Best Buy a while back and it was worth every penny. For starters it's the best proof of the theory that you NEVER...EVER cast a girlfriend or wife in a film you are doing especially if she's playing opposite you. The film is so gloriously mid 1980's. Apparently there is a cut of the film that actually makes sense and got a legit X rating for violence, but Stallone and company scrapped that version to chop it into what was released because it was going up against Top Gun its opening weekend. Also watched Short Circuit and man it's amazing to think that in the mid 80's we were so sure we would have these amazing robots that could do anything. 30 years later and we still don't have hunter killer robots that can also make a gin and tonic. I still heart Ally Sheedy though. And I watched Blade Runner: The Directors Cut. I hadn't seen Blade Runner in so long that I forgot how trippy a lot of it was. Gonna move up to The Final Cut when I get a chance to see how much of a difference there is.
  9. This show dragged and dragged as the night went on. I was amused at them making a little mini thing out of who was the "real" main event and Triple H was "guy's its a double main event...duh". So with Orton and Cena we might get Brock vs. Cena IV or Brock vs. Orton. I can't say either one of those matches sounds like they are worth a damn. It's like just do a tournament with someone who hasn't won the title. There's plenty of compelling matches and stories that could be made just by using the Rocky template of the underdog getting a shot at the champion. The one part I absolutely loved was Mizdow getting the win and The Miz jumping for joy "I WON...I WON". Then him and Mizdow on the ramp both going "I WON...I WON" just was tremendous. AJ being the lone diva out in the Total Diva's thing is quite amusing. It's a shame AJ/Paige won't be in the HIAC. That might have been fun to watch. Still holding out hope for a ladder match at TLC with them. I was concerned that it was almost 90 minutes into the show and there was no Ambrose (or maybe there was before I missed it. I was watching Fast & Loud and American Dad as well). Dean at the movies needs to be a thing for the network. Him with his own MST3K show just watching stuff would be great. There's so many old dumb movies he could watch and I'm sure with the WWE's deal with NBC they could get some old movies of the week at a discounted price to show. I can't wait to see how he promotes his version of Assualt on precinct 13 when that comes out. Foley showing up was nice. Despite his brain being scrambled, he can still cut an amazing promo. It's a shame he isn't a manager. So many guys could benefit from having him be their mouth piece. I'll watch the rest later on the DVR since I found driving at Le Mans on my Forza 4 video game more interesting during the last hour.
  10. Yeah well it was more about Vince having to wave his dick around. Though the couple of times when ECW guys stood up to Austin (RVD and Tazz) the arena went nuts. If they weren't so intent on destroying DDP, DDP being tired of Austin's shit and hitting him with a Diamond Cutter probably would have been one of the most awesome things ever.
  11. Teddy Hart and his cat vs. Necro Butcher and a mutant sized barn rat. Stan Hansen as guest commissioner for the night just so someone eats a lariat.
  12. So i found this best of ric flair video on youtube (says its disc 5), you know the ones made of old vhs copies of stuff as it aired on tv. Anyway its Flair vs. David Von Erich at Star Wars 83 and both Flair and Von Erich entered to the Star Wars theme. I found that all kinds of amusing. I mean have Flair come out to the imperial march. Still the most random (and awesome) Ric Flair theme is him entering to "Easy Lover" by Phil Collins in 87 for a match against Barry Windham on a big Florida show.
  13. Trips/Batista was definitely a bigger deal than Cena/JBL at that point. Yeah don't forget JBL/Cena was for the Smackdown title. RAW always takes the A spot over Smackdown. As for Benoit. there's a lot of interesting what if's for him. Assume Bret never went to WCW and Owen didn't die cause Bret would have stopped the stunt. No Owen tribute match. Would Benoit still be alive today if he was stuck at the upper mid card level and never broke through to being World Champion? I can see him making it the WWF for a few years and eventually leaving in 2005ish. Probably goes back to Japan or dare I say ROH. Benoit vs. Joe would have been fun around the time Joe was wrestling Kenta and Misiwa.
  14. The fact that Cole never ate one from Lawler was a disgrace. I think Lawler did piledrive Cole after a WWE show in Memphis in the dark match. Why the Wrestlemania match wasn't Lawler just piledriving him like five times is a mystery that may never be solved.
  15. Elizabeth Pena was one of my first crush's as well. La Bamba and *batteries not Included were great films of my childhood. Also the first film I saw going back to school in my film classes was Lone Star. Amazing film she did with Chris Cooper. If you've never seen it, you should.
  16. If this service has every HBO comedy special ever shown it will be well worth it.
  17. So I watched the rest of the show earlier. I feel sorry for Nattie being caught up on Total Diva's and having to be the respected vet of the bunch. Cameron had to slap her twice because she whiffed on the first one. You could just see it in Nattie's eyes that she wanted to do like her Grandpa Stu and twist her into a pretzel. The difference between Cena and Ambrose is in that promo Cena did. Cena comes off like hes reading straight off a prompter with all the fake emotion and passion he can muster. Ambrose has such a more natural feel to the way he speaks which is why so many are identifying with him. The match was what it was, but man when Ambrose trying to bite off Cena's thumb when he had him in the STF was so great. Him also trolling Cena by being like "come on you can still stop me...nah" then grabbing the contract was also funny. I love those little things.
  18. Ambrose was so good in the opening tonight. He was channeling Roddy Piper looking like he was cranked out of his mind. Everything Ambrose does comes off so natural like he's a master improv artist. I can't imagine how horrible this exact angle would have been with Roman Reigns and his inability to think on his feet. The six man that we ended up getting was really good. Thank God it wasn't for the tag titles because you know Vince had to be talked down from doing another partners who hate each other as tag champions thing. Ambrose's flying elbow into the pile was so damn funny to watch. I loved in the seconds before he was like "OH DAMN IT...NOW I HAVE TO...ALL RIGHT ALL RIGHT" Rusev vs. Big Show was the only match I was really interested in seeing and since I'm in the middle of finishing a 7 to 8 page paper, I skipped most of the show and only watched it. Big Show delivering a whooping for the first half of the match was fun. Rusev can take a convincing beating. When Rusev busted out that dropkick I legit marked. It was just so awesome. I loved Rusev's half of the match where he was just trying to choke him out. The ending was what it was. I guess we're getting Show/Rusev at the PPV. But I loved Rusev being all walking tall and being like I'LL TAKE YOU BOTH ON. God, if he wasn't doing the evil foriegner gimmick and Show and Henry were heels that would have gotten him over as a super face. I got the rest of the show on DVR. I saw a bit of Mizdow and he had me laughing my ass off.
  19. I could see Bret getting an emotional sendoff. He would've spent 18 years in WWE by that point. The question is whether or not Bret would've wanted to retire for good at 45. Another question that has to be answered is what happens to Owen in this timeline. I assume Bret has enough clout to keep Owen from becoming The Blue Blazer so he likely survives. Bret vs. Owen at WrestleMania X8 could've been a dual sendoff since Owen wanted to retire when his contract expired anyway (in 2002). Even if it's just Owen's sendoff, it'd be a "WrestleMania moment." If Bret doesn't retire, he probably feuds with Angle after Mania and has awesome matches on SmackDown through the end of the year. Bret and Shawn reconciling would be a major theme after Shawn's return. Without Montreal, the ice is a little less chilled and Bret is less bitter so it'd probably happen. I could see Bret moving to RAW and teaming with Shawn against Evolution after the 03 Rumble. We possibly get Bret/HHH at Mania and Bret eventually putting over Randy Orton. Bret being in the ring to celebrate with Eddie and Benoit (especially Benoit) at Mania XX would be an emotional moment. I actually think Bret's final main event run would be a post-Mania feud with Benoit for the World Title. Bret kind of transitions into a bitter old man heel and spends the mid 2000s doing great matches with the likes of Finlay and Regal. He ends up leading the protests against ECW in 05-06. As the decade comes to a close, he starts to transition out of the ring and maybe even becomes an on-air GM to keep himself on TV. He eventually ends up managing The Hart Dynasty and Natalya and his in-ring duties become less and less. I honestly can't see Bret ever having a final send-off. The guy would want to lace up his boots to go out and work with guys like Daniel Bryan, CM Punk and maybe even KENTA and Fergal. Bret's ego would want to prove that he is the best there is, the best was and the best there ever will be. Maybe he even makes a late in life comeback in 2013-2014 to feud with Daniel Bryan to try to stop the rise of the "Yes Movement" before eventually turning on The Authority to side with Bryan. The key thing here is that we're even still 2 years out from Bret's 20 year deal expiring. That's it. It's settled that when time travel is invented we must do what ever it takes to keep Bret from going to WCW.
  20. Had he, I bet he would of gotten the television title run that Devon got.
  21. This woman is the best. God if only she wrestled. Her feuding with AJ over the Diva's title while "proving the superiority of Russian woman over tiny American girl" would be amazing. EDIT: Wow Cougar Jay. That guy could have been Joey Ryan's dad.
  22. I almost want to see Bret vs. Tazz in 2000. That could have been a fun match if Bret went really old school and did some Stu Hart dungeon torture submissions.
  23. Oh come on. Dusty as Sheriff Buford T. Justice would be amazing. DAY AINT NO WAY. NO WAY DAT YOU CAME FROM MAH LOINS. Soon as I get home I'm gonna elbow yo mama right in the head.
  24. I remember old PWI results from 93 where for a month straight at WWF shows Bret beat Luger who he had in the sharpshooter by DQ because Razor Ramon ran in and broke it up. Same exact thing except Triple H breaks up the hold. Man just thinking about it seeing Mike Tyson in a sharpshooter would probably be a sports center moment for the ages.
