  1. I went out and saw it last night and thought it was pretty good. Some of it was over dramatized and the time lines are all off, but despite that it was really good. MJF does at least get some screen time. I wish they would have kept his part in and dwelled on it because Fritz was a bastard for doing the old fake cousin gimmick right after another one of his kids died. Without being too spoilerly, if anything they didn't go in enough on Fritz and the stuff he did. I guess Kevin still had some love and respect for him.
  2. Last night was shockingly a good episode of RAW. Miz/Gunther might be the match of the week. It's amazing what Miz can do when he puts those working shoes on. I actually marked out for the knee bar and Indian Death Lock he busted out. I thought after the super skull crushing finale he had the match won. It's a shame the feud has to end with one of those stupid "can't challenge while so and so is still champion" things. Judgement Day vs. The Creed Bros was really good. I thought after the women's tag title change we would see this tag title change as well. Julius Creed is a freak with his leaping ability. Ivy even got one over on Rhea so I'm looking forward to that match when it happens. I love The BrutusBALL as a new Doomsday Device finisher. It's a shame RAW doesn't have an overrun anymore because this match easily had another 10 minutes in it especially with Julius almost kicking out on the chokeslam. But yea it was a shockingly good episode last night. The matches were good. The comedy was funny. All in all good.
  3. I thought the show last night was really good. Athena vs. Billie was the standout match of the night for me. But almost every match on the card was really good. In the preshow I hope Tony signs both The Bounty Hunter and Jack Cartwheel to ROH. That was a fun match and who knew you could do a cartwheel into so many moves. But as for the main show the only match I would have scrapped was Nyla vs. Vert Vixen. No offense to them, but it was a squash they should have kept for the regular honor club show. Same goes for Kingston vs. Henry. But they've backed themselves into a corner with this triple crown thing so I guess the champ had to be on while he was still champ. Black Taurus vs. Vikingo was a really good hard hitting match. The powerbomb on the floor was sick. I honestly didn't think Vikingo would win, but he pulled out the shock win. He still takes too much time to set up his moves though. Ethan Page vs. Tony Neese was a good I Quit match. Smart Mark Sterling is such a slimey guy so it was good to see him get what was coming. I liked Mark Henry being an official. He could be an enforcer who puts people in check. The match itself was solid. Glad that Page won. The survival of the fittest match was good. I was rooting for Dalton to win, but I'm not upset with Kyle Fletcher winning. He's really good and I want to see how he handles being a singles champion. Yuta vs. Lawlor was all right. I like Yuta as a heel pure champion who cheats to win. Dem Top Guys vs. BCC was really good. I liked how they tried to keep it as a straight match and then the triple countout happened and they said fuck it and went for a fight without honor. Great tribute to Jay. Athena vs. Billie Starkz was a really good match. Athena might be in the running for wrestler of the year...man or woman. Billie is such a great face in peril. She's only going to get better with age. Match of the night and a good contender for match of the year in my book.
  4. Well maybe it was a diversion, but the devil last night was driving a car. I think in Adam Cole's current predicament, he can't drive. So maybe that's a hint that he isn't the devil in all of this.
  5. I thought most of the show was good last night. But I was honestly annoyed that Swerve lost that match. He would have won. Moxley didn't need to win nor does he need to win his bracket. Also sucks that Mark Briscoe didn't have one damn point. Andrade vs Brody was good thought so it wasn't so bad. I sometimes wonder what the hell Tony is thinking.
  6. I watched Deadline last night and thought it was a pretty good show. The Iron Survivor matches were pretty good. Granted I find the concept of the match a little confusing, but it's good it's only done once a year so it doesn't get done to death. I was rooting for Tyler Bate to win, but I guess Trick was way too over not to pull that trigger. Ilya vs. Corbin was a damn good match. Ilya sells pain so well. I loved the part where he used every bit of strength he had left to nail the power bomb on Corbin. Overall a pretty good show.
  7. I watched most of the show tonight. Missed Moxley vs. Rush, but saw everything else. Really good show as usual. I liked the attack on MJF which was a good way to keep him from wrestling since he's injured. I really hope the devil story does come to an end at the ppv. It's either going to be something great or a monumental bust. Swerve vs. Mark was a good match. I was sad that Briscoe lost though. I figured he would get at least three points at some point. But they are setting up for a hell of a Swerve vs. Moxley match next week. Jay vs. Jay was good. I liked how into it the crowd got with the dueling Jay chants. Poor Lethal couldn't even get a point tonight. Toni vs. Blue was all right. I loved the TCM Introduction for Toni. See that's corporate synergy I can get behind. I think Skye Blue needs a new finisher. It's always hit or miss with that Code Blue. But this set up Toni vs. RIHO!!! I'm so excited that she's back. Christian vs. Adam Copeland was a good match. Christian is so on point with everything he does. Wasn't thrilled about the ending with Nick's mom interfering, but it was a good match none the less. I'm interested to see where this goes and if this means she's joining the group. Overall a good show as usual.
  8. I'm trying to get back into the loop on ROH after missing a few weeks. This weeks episode was pretty good. The standout match was Billie vs. Marina. I'm starting to get all the hype with Billie Starkz. The post match with the graduation was great. Lexi really sold the whole thing so well. I loved Billie snapping at the end of all of it and going after Athena. Billie vs. Athena should be a damn good match. I'm just not sure if I'm ready for Athena's reign to end.
  9. Tonight was a damn good show with some damn good matches. Brody is my pick to win the blue league. Poor Eddie is gonna lose is titles without even being in a match the them.
  10. Punk's promo was honestly pretty underwhelming. I guess between probably an NDA and the WWE not wanting to acknowledge AEW, he was limited in what he could say. But I was expecting more. But he's back which is the important thing. Lets just see what happens. I'm willing to give them time with this.
  11. The WWE is a never say never company. I mean Bruno came back. Bret came back. Warrior came back. Punk coming back was an inevitability.
  12. Pretty good show tonight. Women's war games was fun to watch. I kept thinking Damage CTRL was turning on Bayley, but I guess they aren't doing that quite yet. Gunther vs. Miz was went how I thought it would. I like seeing Miz fire it up and be serious once in a while. Surprised by the tap out ending. I thought Santos vs. Dragon Lee was good right up to the ending. It just felt a bit anticlimactic for him to win out of nowhere with the destroyer and then driver. I would have preferred to see him cheat to win or something. He is a bad guy after all. Rhea vs. Zoey was pretty good. Typical Rhea match at this point. But Zoey looked good in defeat. Mens wargames was good. It was good to see Randy back. He looked like he hadn't lost a step. The Super RKO was awesome. I'll admit they got me with the copyright logo and then the music hit. Oh boy there's so many ways this can go. I'm excited for the possibilities.
  13. I sorta want to see Miz and Gunther get into a chop fest. I know Miz has it in him to do it.
  14. I missed Swerve vs. Lethal, but saw the rest of the show and thought it was pretty good. Christian Cage is on a whole other level as a heel. I think he legit had that crowd wanting to see Luchasaraus...now Kill Switch (which is a much cooler name) turn and beat the shit out of him. I like how Nick Wayne is the favorite son so he gets special treatment from his new father while Killswitch is the lowly peasant in the family. Jay White vs. RUSH was good. I was wondering how this one would go and it ended up going how I figured it would. Mark Briscoe vs. Moxley was fun. There was blood and it wasn't Jon's. I want to see Mark go far in this tourney and it looked like he almost could win this match at times. Overall a fun good show tonight.
  15. Yeah they kinda booked themselves into a corner with Eddie putting his titles on the line. Either he's going to win the whole thing or he's gonna lose the ROH Championship in what could be a meaningless way. Nevermind the NJPW Strong title he has as well. For my rest of the field I would have Keith Lee, Miro, Trent Barretta, Claudio, Takeshita, Malakai Black, Lance Archer, and Chris Jericho. I think that would give it star power and also star making ability to really showcase what some of these guys can do.
  16. I watched most of RAW tonight and it was good. Xia Li and Becky had a hell of a match. I've been a fan of Xia's for a while now so it was nice for her to finally get a chance to shine. Nice post match brawl between the war games teams. Chelsea Green was the mvp of the 4 way tag and she wasn't even in the match. Her commentary had me cracking up the whole time. Best line was after Katana Chance did something acrobatic and Chelsea quipped "I take adult gymnastics". The Miz/Gunther segment was good. It's amazing how they make The Miz a joke most times only for him to stop on a dime and show why he's so damn good. Gable vs. Nakamura was a good match. Jey vs. Drew was good. I mean you knew Drew was going to win. I think in the entire history of war games, the good guys have never had the advantage. Maybe one time? I'm not sure. I liked the ending which set up Cody naming the fifth guy. Hopefully the RANDY chants drown out a certain other chant bound to happen.
  17. I thought the show was really good. Match of the night was obviously Texas Death between Page and Swerve. Both looked good in this match. Hopefully it means something for Hangman in the future, but Swerve is who they should strap that rocket too as the next guy. MJF/White was good too. I don't think the injury angle was needed. I mean they could have done it during the match and still had the same amount of drama around can MJF pull this off. But yeah start to finish it was a really good show.
  18. I watched most of Collision tonight. Miss Miro/Garcia, but saw everything after that. The fourway was pretty good with the usual spots thrown around. I was surprised to see TRENT? win. But they havent really done anything with him in a while so might as well use him while you got him. Rush vs. Dax was a good match. I was surprised to learn tomorrow is now a ladder match. I don't think it really needed that added stip, but should still be good. Rush is so good though and I got a good laugh when he confronted Ricky and Ricky was like "I can speak spanish too". I'm pulling for LFI to win tomorrow, but wouldn't be upset if Ricky and Big Bill retain. Wheeler vs. Buddy was pretty good. Murphy needs more time to shine in matches like this and this match set up what should be a good one tomorrow with Murphy vs. Claudio. Outcasts vs. Statlander and Shida was all right. I still think Saraya should not have lost the world title and we would be getting a much more interesting match with Toni Storm tomorrow. The romance angle with Ange and Ruby is amusing. I look forward to seeing how Saraya and Daddy Magic try to sabotage it. MJF cut a nice promo as usual to end the show. I'm looking forward to him vs. White tomorrow. Rampage was all right. The show is sometimes a let down, but tonight it wasn't. Christian vs. Trent was pretty good. Christian is the perfect TNT Champion and has great stooges in Wayne and Luchasaraus. Toni vs. Emi was all right. Loved everything about Toni's entrance and presentation. Luther adds a nice bit of elegance to her as the noble butler. Roddy vs. Andretti was pretty good. I cringed when the spanish fly spot happened though. So glad that it wasn't as bad as it appeared and he was able to get back up and finish things strong. The closing angle of MJF attacking Jay White was good. I liked how he took out Juice and almost had The Gunns as well before the numbers caught up to him. Joe makes the save and it should be interesting how that tag match goes tomorrow. I can see Joe cleaning house only to leave MJF high and dry because he's getting his title shot now. No one said he had to finish the match. Overall a solid night of action for the most part.
  19. This was a pretty good episode of Dynamite tonight. The opener was fun with Mox/Yuta vs. Orange/Hook. I liked how Cassidy and Hook jumped them in the crowd. Hook and Moxley had a good standoff in the ring which was fun. But i agree with the previous comment above about Moxley looking immense compared to both of them. I liked the ending with Hook taking the loss and Orange Cassidy on the floor looking like he didn't know what he's got himself into with Moxley. Moxley murders him on Sunday or we see the biggest upset ever in AEW. I was expecting a little back and forth with Hangman and Swerve but instead we got Hangman just going nuclear on him with that promo. I'm hoping this death match is a bloody violent affair at the ppv. Hangman beating up Nana and Swerve not being able to stop it was hilarious. Red Velvet vs. Skye Blue was all right. They sure did give them a lot of time which is more than I would have. Don't know what happened the end with the botch of the Code Blue. Skye is always hit or miss with that move and tonight was a big miss. Bucks vs. Penta/Komander was a fun match. I like The Bucks when they are just full on heels. Cheat to win. Great stuff. The street fight was fun to watch. Nice to know Ibushi is officially All Elite. Gotta hand it to Paul Wight at this stage in his career with all of his injuries (I think he's had like 3 or 4 hip replacements) taking a bodyslam off and elevated position and onto the hood of a car. That was just nasty. Speaking of nasty, Ibushi is crazy for taking that tombstone off the ring and onto the chairs. But in the end the hired goon Brian Cage ends up eating the one winged angel and takes the loss. MJF cut a good babyface promo and Switchblade Jay White cut a good heel promo in return. I thought for sure the devil would reveal himself somehow before they went off the air. I guess they are saving that for the end of the PPV. But as I said, a pretty good show tonight.
  20. Tonight was a really good episode of Collision. I purposely avoided the spoilers so I could go in watching fresh and it's a nice feeling to do that. Andrade vs. Garcia was a good opener. I liked Miro looking on from the back. That should be a good feud with him and Andrade. This match was good though. Garcia needs a title. Maybe put him back in ROH to take back the Pure championship. But good win by Andrade as Miro laughs in the back. Nick Wayne vs. Dalton Castle was a fun match. Dalton tossed Wayne around like a rag doll. I don't get the whole prodigy thing with Nick Wayne, but he can sure take a beating. I hope Dalton goes far in the eventual ROH Television title tournament. Maybe even win the thing. Rush and Dralistico vs. Workhorsemen was all right. JD Drake is such an underrated big man so I'd like to see him get more chances to shine. Rush and Dralistico are being thrown into a very crowded tag title scene. Martin vs. Roddy was funny at points. I like Strong's gimmick at the moment so all the little things he does are pretty funny. After the match we get an surprise announcement hyping up AEW's version of a G1. Bryan is there and he's gonna be in it. Ok cool. Cant complain about that. Willow vs. Julia Hart was a good match. Julia continues to improve in these matches. Hobbs killed some random jobber. I'm looking forward to him and Paul Wight standing off with each other on Wednesday. Darby Allin, Sting and Adam Copeland vs. Lance Archer and The Righteous was a fun six man. I hate that this new group of The Righteous and Archer were just formed and they lost all ready. Gotta build them up first Tony. But this was a good six man none the less. Darby looks like a crash test dummy being all taped up. I was surprised Sting was in this match as much as he was. Copeland was firing on all cylanders so I can't complain. At the end I liked after the loss you can barely see it, but Jake throws his hands up being all "thats just great". Like I said, I didn't like The Righteous and Lance Archer taking a loss in their first outing. Overall a really good show tonight. I think they can survive being taped once in a while.
  21. Rampage was good this week. If you didn't watch the FTR/Vikingo & Kommander match you should find it and do so. This match was everything I love about AEW. Great action and lots of near falls. I don't know how Mexican wrestling politics work, but AEW needs to do more with Vikingo. That was a lively crowd for him during the match.
  22. Another good episode of Dynamite tonight. I missed MJF vs. Garcia because I didn't think they would put that on first. I watched it from Penta/Swerve on and that was a good match. I liked the post match brawl with Hangman. They're setting up a nice blood feud match for the ppv. Joe vs. Lee was awesome. Didn't see Joe vacating the belt though. He's done all he can with the title so it should be nice to see someone else get a run as champion. Jay White vs. Mark Briscoe was a good match. I knew Mark wasn't going to win, but it's still fun rooting for him to win. I liked the ending with MJF in the ring and then the beatdown of the Acclaimed. Who is the devil. I think it has to be Cole, but AEW is good at surprises sometimes so it could very well be someone no one is thinking of.
  23. I was wondering when they would announce who was in War Games since it was two weeks away and all. It should be a fun match with all the usual spots.
  24. I watched most of the show which surprised me. It was all right for the most part. Can't stand that Rollins retained the title. He is so bland as a champion. I almost wanted to see Damien Priest cash in but luckily Sami put a stop to that. The women's five way was as good as you could expect a five way to be. Everyone got their spots in...Nia didn't win. The world rejoices. Solo vs. Cena was a good match. I liked Cena trying to work over the spike so it would be ineffective. This was a huge match for Solo and the ten spikes he gave Cena were incredible. It's amazing to think there was a time Cena could survive anyone's finisher. Iyo vs. Bianca was all right. Typical match for the two. I obviously marked out for KAIRI's return. Iyo leaving Bayley should be a fun angle when it officially happens. Rey vs. Logan was what it was. I didn't expect Logan to win, but I can live with it especially in the manner that he did. Not sure if it's going to help having the two top champions of Smackdown being part timers (ooops got ahead of myself there). Cody vs. Damien was good for what it was. Cody needs to turn the page of his story all ready. Go for Rollins or something all ready. Hell, they could have probably had Priest cash in and win only for this match to be for the World title and he ends up losing to Cody. It wouldn't have been the craziest thing they have done with a world title. LA Knight vs. Roman was pretty good for your usual Roman match at this point. I had a small glimmer of hope that Knight would shock the world and win, but when Jimmy came out to ringside I knew that wasn't happening. I guess we're getting Roman to WM 40 as champion which shouldn't be too hard considering I read that he might be done for the rest of the year. It's easy to pile on days as a champion if you don't have to defend it anytime soon.
  25. Watts made a big deal of not coming off the top rope during his reign. I remember before the Muta/Barry NWA World title match at Superbrawl 3 they explained the rules because WCW and the NWA had different rules and they noted in WCW you can not come off the top rope but in the NWA you can.
