  1. Spud was the MVP (no pun intended) of the show. He was brilliant in the farewell for Dixie. I could not stop laughing when he got the portrait broken over his head and he cradled it on the ropes just saying Madam over and over. I have most of the second half on DVR, but man Jeff Hardy. I really hope his probation officer doesn't watch the show. Someone might be getting a surprise drug test if they do tomorrow.
  2. Seconded. That was brutal television. This pairing is going to zap any and all face-heat off of both of them The WWE is so akward at doing romance. They write them like it's cosplay for highschool on the Disney channel. AJ vs. Nattie was a pretty good match. Don't know why they didn't save it for Wrestlemania.
  3. This? And if so - what the fuck did I just watch? Wait, so they just awarded a TITLE BELT by draw out of a hat? Yup, sounds about right. The best part of this match was poor Daffney drawing the striptease one and Borash telling her if she didn't get in the ring and take her clothes off, she would be fired because she signed the contract for the match.
  4. I watched it earlier along with the last hour of RAW and I can buy Bryan being like the new Dusty. He's the new common man. I loved Triple H going thermo nuclear when Bryan dropped the one more thing line. It would never happen in today's PG WWE, but I would love to see them rip off Dibiase vs. Flair from Mid South. At Wrestlemania, Bryan and Triple H are about to go and the bell rings and Triple H does a quick low blow for the DQ and then proceeds to beat the living shit out of Bryan for like five minutes leaving him bloody and battered. Rest of the show they build on whether Bryan will even ever wrestle again. Cut to the main event, Orton and Batista are about to lock up and then Bryan's theme hits and he's all bandaged up and limps down the ramp. Bryan ends up winning the title and sets up a rematch with Triple H this time for the title at Extreme Rules and then that segways into Bryan vs. DAVE to Summerslam where Batista probably wins the title so he can have it for the Guardians of the Galaxy red carpet. Bryan gets a good five or six month title run and mostly everyone is happy. Of course I could totally see him losing Wrestlemania as well. Either one works.
  5. They were expecting a crossbody block, and he did a splash. Plus, you know it's Jeff Hardy. Seriously though I'm more interested in how he exactly got to the top of the cage during the intro. Considering how tall the TNA cages are, was there enough time for him to jump the rail and spint up the side or was he hiding on the Lockdown cage and he repelled down.
  6. I'm really surprised that HBK didn't insist on a rematch so that God could get his win back.
  7. I thought the animation on the Bruno story was amazing. I loved the ending of it. After watching Family Guy before hand and some of the jokes they did, I have a feeling this is Seth's way of doing pennance with the universe.
  8. Isn't he like 7 ft. 4 and 120 pounds? Maybe just have him do judo chops. The Judo Chop is a move that needs to come back in Pro Wrestling. Someone should work an Anti-MMA gimmick where their big knock out finisher is a Judo Chop. Clearly I am hoping for Double J Double M A to do this in his new rasslin company with Toby Keith.
  9. I'm just looking at this from a strictly fighting stance. Punk will try to wear down Lesnar with all forms of submissions and stuff, but in the end Brock wins by countering the GTS into an F5 to the delight of everyone.
  10. Well storyline wise (and bare with me since its TNA here), Dixie is saying Jeff breached his contract when he walked out on TNA so Jeff Hardy was banned from the building. But *winkwink* it's not Jeff Hardy. Jeff doing these high pitched screams and moans through out the match was so friggin funny. The best part of his rediculous look was he was wearing this huge chest and back plate thing. It was so indyriffic. As for the world title match. It was really good until the whole Abyss thing. Abyss is my least favorite person in wrestling. I loved Joe Park, but Abyss is a channel changer. Magnus could have won in some other screwy way using the "Joe's Rules" thing. The only possible good thing that could come of this is it might lead to an Eric Young main event run which is YEARS overdue. EY confronted Abyss after the match so I'm going to hope that maybe Eric sets his sights on Magnus and the title and he has to go through Abyss for it. THAT might be interesting, but it's TNA so I don't have huge hopes.
  11. A few years ago, didn't Nicole Kidman win the Best Actress Oscar for The Hours for maybe 30 mins total screen time?
  12. Mick is truly an anamoly in pro wrestling in that regard.
  13. Great, now I'm picturing Vince using Snapchat.
  14. I watched the Wrestlemania Rewind on the Hogan/Mr. T vs. Piper/Orndorf WM 1 main event. I don't think I've seen the whole match (including introductions) in a really long time. Compared to WM's now, the set up they had for the first one was so simple and scaled down. Even watching the match right now there was a buzz and excitement that no matter how hard they have tried they just can't duplicate. This is mainly due to the fact there is no one in the WWE who can get legit hate from people like Roddy Piper. There might be someone, but the WWE would never take the handcuffs off anyone and let them rile up the crowd to the point of a near riot. One thing I noticed about the match was Ali was REALLY into it. He was even on the ring apron a bunch of times. I'm pretty sure at one point Hogan of all people had to go over and be like "BRAH WE NEED YOU ON THE FLOOR DUDE". Mr. T was gassed by the end, but man I don't think we will ever see a celeb get involved in a match like him (actual wrestling wise) ever again. The only one who even comes close is Maria Menounos and that's saying alot.
  15. That Triple H interview was brilliant. They really need to start showing these on television. I think we all can live without a five minute diva's match if they put one of these on in it's place. I hope Triple H says "Bryan, I found you a match at Wrestlemania. It will be you vs. JTG on the pre show".
  16. I have the Blue Oyster Bar theme as one of my ring tones on my phone. I just watched Police Academy over the weekend with the DVD commentary on. Police Acaedmy 4 might be my favorite of the sequels. I remember back CBS aired it as a Tuesday night movie back in 89, they added all the deleted scenes in (I guess to pad out the running time. They did the same thing with Roger Rabbit) and it actually flushed out more of the story. Number 5 did have it's moments. I actually saw it in the theater when it came out. Wanted to see six like that, but was all ready pulled after a week. Lets not even talk about seven.
  17. Which PPV does Badd take on Honky? Oh yeah watching Superbrawl 1 and Johnny's debut. OH HUSH...HE'S JUST A BIG OL UGLY BEAR. I'M SO PRETTY SHOULDA BEEN BORN A LIL GURL.
  18. That's why they changed the main event of WM 8. Everyone around the country got the same exact match from them. Speaking of The Mountie from the post on the last page, I seem to remember at least when he first debuted the head ramming thing was billed as "A Canadian Crowd Control Device". I forget when they stopped doing that, but a lot of his moves were supposed to be "official RMCP tactics". I miss little things like that in commentary. If you had a gimmick like that now, Cole would just shit all over it. Regal would probably go out of his way to give it proper terminology though.
  19. I finished Superbrawl 1 earlier. God, that whole Oz segment is so fun to watch. That spinning power bomb is still awesome to watch. But thinking about it, it's amazing to think just what what...five years later Nash would be part of a group to revolutionize DA BUSINESS. Pillman vs. Barry is still one of my favorite brawls. Wrestling needs more taped fist matches. The Steiners/Sting & Luger hype video might be my all time favorite hype video ever. The music just made it seem like it was the biggest and most important match ever. Thank God Scott wore pink instead of flesh tone tights though. The ending also sets up the really awesome Sting/Nikita feud. I never saw the final two matches because the tape I had cut out right as Arn was making his entrance. I loved the story that people doubted Bobby could win a singles title because he was just a tag team wrestler. Jim Ross made it seem so damn huge and when he won the arena went ape shit. The main event was pretty good all things considered. I loved how Hiro Matsuda did his best Mr. Fuji impersonation just before they all went to the ring. Flair had the best entrance ever with the maids and butler. Who knew WCW had that kind of money for extra's. I guess Ted was just rubber stamping those expense reports. The thing that made me laugh was they showed a bunch of guys in the crowd with Fujinami signs. Those had to be plants, right? I can't imagine there were Japanese wrestling smarks who went out of their way to make signs. The match was great. I loved the work on the back of both guys. Fujinami trying and failing to bridge out was a really cool moment. It's so weird seeing Bill Alfonso as a respected referee. I miss that Fonzie. Great to see Flair win. Next up is Superbrawl 2 which I've only seen clips of because my video store back then never got it in stock.
  20. It is now: I'm picturing him in the world's largest maroon leisure suit and bell bottoms singing that in a lounge at the local hotel.
  21. She's obviously the best skilled Divia (even if she can't do the damn Sharpshooter to save her life). But character and personality wise she's at the bottom.
  22. I started watching Superbrawl 1 around 5 am and made it an hour through before I decided to go to sleep. I have it on tape, but the tape has not held up over the years so it's nice to see it in good ol' broadcast quality again. I am really sad that they dubbed over what I think might be one of the greatest intro's ever with Diamond Dallas Page bringing out The Freebirds. You can still hear him, but the generic music really drowns him out (which is amazing). I left it off during the Dustin vs. Taylor "computer" match. I love The York Foundation's intro. "Hey...you four guys...go get a suit jacket. You're the new board of directors for this quarter".
  23. Vince yelled at her and stuff about it. It amuses me what Vince deems "crass". The lick and the EC F'N W logo are "too crass" for WWE tastes but meanwhile a few years ago they had no problem selling a shirt that says VINCE LOVES COCK.
  24. Also Alberto Del Rio won the Royal Rumble but lost his title match against Edge in the certain jerker at WM 27. Yeah, but that was only cause they realized it would be Edge's last match and they wanted to do a good send off thing.
