  1. Not trying to be controversial here but, in my opinion, that looks like it might be a pretty good couple hours of pro wrestling television. Also, I think both Hangman vs Neckstrong (a natural match-up) and Mox vs Swerve feature two American wrestlers competing in THEIR HOME COUNTRY of America, not unlike Kenny vs Ego from Collision in Montreal. I bet the local American crowd will be extra pumped up for that!

  2. The York Foundation trying to homogenize a bunch of southern wrestlers was a stellar in-joke on the people running the promotion

  3. Brody King vs Andrade El Idolo added to tonight, as the Blue league appears on Dynamite for the first time. December: A shorter month than you realise.

  4. It is Chanukah season in AEW! Tonight, on the 7th night, you get.... Ruby vs. Riho! Hangman vs. Roddy! Moxley vs. Strickland! The Von Erichs! KIMONA WANALAYA PRINCE NANA DANCES~! WINTER IS COMING!

  5. The York Foundation was a weird name, sounds more like a group that's funding PBS nature programs rather than some big company trying to take over the lower/mid card of a wrestling promotion.

  6. Rich/Big Josh was also fun for the spin of “Alexandria York isn’t using her ‘computer’ because it doesn’t have a program for Submit or Surrender matches” (of course it was used in the finish)

  7. It was always WATCH KIMONA WANALAYA DANCE ATOP THE ECW ARENA!!! but it's like, dude you didn't put her up on the roof. Now Nana doing his dance on the roof of some stadium would be really fucking funny.

  8. I think I remember a "Submit or Surrender" section in the far back corner of my local Video Village when I was 15.

  9. Looking at the list of Submit or Surrender matches on YouTube and I can understand why Sting/Jack is the only one we remember the others were Bobby Eaton vs Johnny B Badd which was probably at least acceptable PN News vs Mr Hughes which presumably ended with Hughes falling asleep (edit: amazing BS ending for this one) Firebreaker Chip vs Larry Zbyszko (edit: in which Firebreaker Chip looks like a complete idiot to end the match) Big Josh vs Thomas Rich (edit: a better match than it had right to be) — edit: just watched Sting vs Cactus and it sure was nice of Mick to end the match with a batshit crazy bump that you only anticipate moments before it happens

  10. Every time Draymond does something I'm reminded of Bart and Lisa Simpson fighting. Bart says he's going to just do windmill punches with his eyes closed and if she's in the way it's her fault. So Lisa closes her eyes and just starts kicking out, and if Bart walks into it, it's his fault.

  12. It was hard to buy in on the York Foundation when Richard Morton didn't change his look at all.

  13. This is an excellent line-up. I'm into Ruby v Riho! I'll wait to see what this looks like, but I'm kinda hoping for a feud. Hangman v Roddy has the potential to be a 2023 dark horse classic. Huge fan of both these athletes. We got the warm-up for King v Andrade here in Toronto during Forbidden door weekend. It was a very solid affair. This will no doubt be better. A Jericho townhall is a suspect segment. The Von Erichs, hmmm. Surely somebody's playing the 'Birds tonight? Rush v Lethal I expect to prove again what a great hand Jay is. Briscoe v White is a gahddamn dream match too. Mox v Swerve 'is a Main Event in any arena around the world, Jesse'.

  14. Really sucks that we’ll never get to see Bray Wyatt go deep into a Panama Gang look on screen because for all the “inspiration” Bray took from Waylon Mercy… boy does this One Man Gang look seem kinda familiar

  15. I mean Swerve vs Moxley could headline a PPV. I need the Von Erichs on AEW, Not Just a 1 Time deal!

  17. Meta-Four vs. Briggs/Jensen/Henley was good. Lash got in a nice moment or two to showcase her power, Jensen was a solid FIP, and I dug how the finish played out to give Briggs a big triumphant moment. Will be interesting to see how the eventual heritage Cup match between Briggs and Dar turns out. Oba/Myles was fine with Oba power moments being the standout. King taking out a tournament member and getting rewarded with his spot feels weird. Thought it was strange King wasn't an announced participant. I guess this was a nice way to show him off as a dick, especially in his conversation with Ava backstage. Still has strange logic wise though I guess that is wrestling. Bate/Lee was good as expected. Nice showcase for both and a good first defense for Dragon Lee. It does feel weird to hear Lee's plan to basically hang back around in NXT to defend the belt like Wes did considering Dragon was already moved up. Curious to see who challenges next among the Kemp/Gulak/Dempsey/Myles group. Gulak would give the best match, but it would be a good learning experience for the other three. Dijak/Thorpe was just a brawl taking a bit to actually begin officially and ending not too long after. The strikes could be a bit weak at times though Dijak being bloody helped this out a decent amount. Not sure why they felt this was needed for presumably another stip match. The feud was already heated enough to justify one. Riley/Carver was a great showcase for both guys. They fed into each others' styles way more than Femi and Bourne did earlier. Blair/Cora vs. Lyra/Nikkita was solid. Cora and Nikkita looked fine despite the long time off. Dug the finish as well with Cora continuing to steal the spotlight. The post match with Tatum coming down, throwing Lyons out, and crawling to over to comfort Lyra was all wonderfully creepy. The final segment with Trick and Ilja was sold up until Melo came out to blame Ilja for attacks on both himself and Trick. Hayes just sounded so unconvincing. To be fair that might have been the point though it felt just like bad acting on Hayes's part. Enjoyed most of the matches tonight with the mixed tag and Bate/Lee being the standouts. The segments were a bit more hit or miss but nothing too terrible. Decent episode tonight though we have had better before, be that matches, segments, or both.

  18. Tony and Nigel get along great. I can't tell you how many times throughout the night Nigel made Tony break character and laugh when I was sitting next to them at the Danielson/Kingston Collision a couple weeks ago.

  20. I think it's a testament to Starks' ability to promo off the cuff that he's flustered guys like Copeland, Jericho and Omega in the last few weeks. I've said it before, and I'll continue to shout it from the rooftops; build around Ricky Starks. Pay him. Strap him up. Make him the face of the company. This show had a large percentage of "my guys" on it. Starks, Large William, Mox, Andrade, Rush, Swerve, et al. All it was missing from my perspective was Wheeler Yuta and Eddie Kingston. I thought the matches were all pretty good, but there was some rough mic work. Samoa Joe/Hangman Page would be the "kick seven shades of shit out of each other" feud I didn't know I wanted.

  22. Watching some Florida stuff during the lunch hour- Kevin Sullivan unintentionally has Bisexual Pride colored hair. As for a match, Blackjack Mulligan vs Mr. Kareem Muhammed goes to the parking lot: Edit: the parking lot brawl really looks like something that you would have seen in a garbage fed Indy in 2003, and it’s happening in a prestigious territory in the mid-80s. So let’s just say it was way ahead of the times even if it makes the parking lot outside of their arena look like Fred Sanford’s junkyard

  25. Bret Hart vs. George Nakano. We get an aggressive Bret Hart here without a clean break and twice throwing George Nakano outside the ring to use said area. This match reminds you how apt The Excellence of Execution name is for Bret, his version of moves are the best. Unusual you see Bret miss his patented middle rope elbow. Didn't expect Bret Hart to lose as 1991 to go on to be a breakthrough year for Bret winning the WWF Intercontinental Championship vs. Mr. Perfect at SummerSlam. What level was George Nakano at that time? It's my first match of his. Good match. Hart Foundation vs. Rockers. Jim Neidhart knocks Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty down with a double clothesline which the Rockers get up too quick from. Extended heat segment on Shawn Michaels. Bret Hart's the MVP of this match. Jannetty gets the tag and has to take Hart/Neidhart on while Michaels recover. Loved the finish as Michaels top rope crossbody is rolled through by Bret with all Bret's weight on Michaels shoulders and a tight hook of the leg gets the Hart Foundation the deserved win. Thank you for both, Matt.

  27. 1億 (oku) equals one hundred million. 10億 means a billion so 14億 means 1.4 billion. Google translate often gets a bit weird when you add 円 (en or yen) to a number. It will give you 1,478 million which is 1.478 billion.

  29. What's worse is: 1) there's unskippable cutscenes and 2) no checkpoints for the whole boss fight and 3) you beat the boss but there's second (and/or third/final) form that reups the lifebar/HP of the boss. In addition to the mooks that join the fight.

  31. I saw in the local news on TV today that there had been a Finnish Pro Wrestling show in a town some 60 miles away from where I live. Promoted by the same guy who has been behind most Finnish pro wrestling in the past decade and a half. There is also a documentary/ reality tv show about aspiring young pro wrestlers in Finland. That's another thing I wish I could tell the 1993 Shartnado, who would probably not believe that for a second. Weird times, indeed.

  32. Kinda wild that this match was booked so quickly if you forget that Jack was brought back in 1991 to be a Monster of the Month and then they realized that he’s really good. Also, Submit or Surrender might be a better name than “I Quit”. Both kinda mean the same thing but.

  35. Oh yeah, there is a terminal entry talking about how synths love those Fancy Lads snack cakes, but they can’t get fat. So they do eat, but they eat like Alf, minus eating cats although I wouldn’t be surprised if they also ate cats.

  36. This feels like the least hype for a Winter is Coming show yet. Mox-Omega and Hangman-Danielson were huge matches at the time. I'm looking forward to Mox-Swerve but it's not even close (and I'm kinda burnt out on Moxley). Guessing MJF would have defended the title here if he wasn't hurt. Not sure what attendance is looking like but it was 6k in 2021 and a little under 5k last year according to wiki

  42. Awesome Athena/Billie brawl to open this week after Billie squashed Dani Mo. Feels like setting up an epic Billie victory, but I do hope it doesn't come off lesser being in Athena's hometown at Final Battle. Also epic that they are officially the main event! Also awesome, Blackpool Combat Club vs. FTR & Mark Briscoe at Final Battle! I love using Johnny TV & Taya on Honor, potentially great addition for two rarely used talents. Solid match with Johnny and Dalton, made me think Johnny would've been a great pick for TV Champ or at least to put in the match for it. Their later backstage segment was hilarious, glad to see them continue a rivalry. Also dig the set up for a potential Taya/Kiera match. the Rachael/Leyla/Maria angle is amusing, almost thought Nikki Victory was gonna get a star making win for a moment. Good stuff from WorkHorsemen vs. The Infantry, 2 of my fav ROH regular teams. Nice women's tag. Sad to see the Renegades always on the losing end, but I was glad to see Adora getting a win again since she used to win more often. Both had their last wins on Honor back in July. Lee Johnson vs Josh Woods was great, absolutely shocked by the upset! Big Shotty looked excellent here. Tracy vs. Moriarty after was pretty good. Back to back wins for Butcher & Blade! Dug Daniels vs. Angelico and the post-match appearance of Orange & Danhausen. Ethan and Nese had a really good contract segment. Protein Powder to the Eyes!! Now an I Quit match at FB. Decent quick main from Kyle Fletcher and Gravity. One spot left in Survival of the Fittest for the TV title at FB.
