  1. Does anybody know how it feels to miss out on both the pre-sale and sale of the biggest live wrestling event your home city has hosted since Wrestlemania 6... and then you find out some crosstown buds have an extra ticket come Saturday!? I'm going to Forbidden Door and I could not be happier! Thanks for letting me share that.

  6. We're going to see how that meeting with potential buyers goes. At this point, it's probably going to be Prichard dressed in various costumes and coming in and out of the room as different characters to appease Vince. Break out that Reo Rodgers outfit and pretend to be an old timey Texas oil tycoon and then return as like a fat Elon Musk.

  8. I think I said in a thread last week that I thought maybe they could put the ROH tag belts on Top Flight. As you said it would do a world of good for them but would also be good for what they seem to be doing with the new ROH. I like The Kingdom so I could also go with them winning this match and continuing the feud with Top Flight to the next PPV and a switch so that Top Flight can get their big win head to head.

  12. My brain turns off any English when I try to speak Spanish. However when I don't know the Spanish word my brain substitutes Japanese verbs in the Spanish sentence. I bought a mask from Violento Jack when I went to Japan last month. Our conversation was a mix of Japanese, Spanish and English. It kind of just flowed that way. I also went to one of the Fantasctica Mania shows. Being in Japan but trying to understand all of the videos and announcing in Spanish messed me up in my head.

  17. Leon Ruffin v Juice Robinson gets my vote for Darkhorse match of the week. Ruffin's face plant bump to the floor was incredible. I need to see those NJPW matches. Glad to hear Finlay's finally coming into his own. I wasn't a fan of the first Fatu-Hulk Hammerstone bout, but I'll certainly give 2 a try. Riccochet-Gable would have been a real candidate had it happened on a Wednesday Night in front of a crowd that actually likes the Wrestling part of the show. And in a company that might actually appreciate Chad Gable's exquisite skillset. All that said, Vikingo v Omega was a goddamn masterpiece.

  18. You can't really go off the air with it, as you gotta start them in the expectation you go long. If you start it 5 mins before end of show, folks know something screwy about to happen. Sometimes your pacing has to be a bit awkward to keep things fresh.

  19. Kenny Omega Vs El Vikingo gets my vote. What a match we wont see often. Just two guys at the top of their game and a real showcase for El Vikingo. WWE & AEW need to throw everything they can to try sign El Vikingo away from AAA.

  20. Another terrific ROHTV show. Lots of quality in ring. Loved Tony Nese' situp/kick spot in the opener. Nese is a great hand. Mark Briscoe is unfuckinreal! I really like this trio of Metalik, #ALLHEART and AR Fox. Slim J's punches are a thing of beauty. Everything he does is beautiful. Can we all band together and WILL Slim J into a big push. Lady Frost continues to impress, and Skye Blue continues to improve. Goddamn Rooosh is Pro Wrestling - and Jose the Assistant is a nice part of this glorious package. 'Hot Sauce' has been a really hand thus far. I also really enjoy seeing Rhett TItus take a good beating - another good hand. Tony Deppen is a fantastic hand. I hope Brian Cage sticks around ROH. Despite his constant detractors shitslinging, he's been really solid over the last few months. Billie Starks continues to impress. It seems only a matter of time before she's consider the best on the Ladies side. Alize looked good at points in there, and is probably worth developing. Man, Shane Taylor is fucking awesome! Silas Young too. Both are a presentation tweak from being more widely appreciated. I continue to hope Silas finds himself in a Minnesota Wrecking Crew type root-stomping tag team. Aussie Open v Sydal/Daniels was a ton of fun. That's the best Daniels and Sydal have looked in awhile. Still hoping the Fallen Angel foregoes the lame babyface act to take on a heel Prophecy. The mystery wasn't built up for disappointment, but Cheeseburger isn't exactly an exciting surprise for a TV title match with the King of Television. That said, I like Cheeseburger. He's another good hand and took Joe's beating nicely. Joe-Briscoe is going to be fucking awesome! Stoked for Supercard. The Claudio-Kingston sitdown was terrific too. That's gonna be a barn-burner! If Chris Hero isn't in shape to wrestle, can he at least be Castignoli's Heenan? Not to say Claudio wasn't pulling his weight in that sitdown. Caprice Coleman was good there too. He and Riccaboni are easily the best commentary team under the Khan umbrella. This was another fun show, but a bit or A lot light on the promos. Back to back to back matches are fine when they're quality as they were here, but the flow with promos and packages in between is far better. And helps distinguish ROHTV from AEW Dark. Well, the matches too. Daniels/Sydal-Aussies in particular could have benefitted a recap package. Tho, the promos going into that match were pretty awful. Still, there was enough material to cut something together. Anyway, hoping for more promos and packages on future week 4s. Bring on the Supercard. Vikingo-Kommander, fuck yeah! Say, anybody know what's happening for next week's TV prior to the PPV?

  21. I really enjoyed the new ring rope colors. I had been saying for a while they needed to spruce up their ring. I wonder what the occasion was, and if it's going to stick from now on.

  22. I've always liked the 2nd ladder match more than the first, even with the slightly botched ending and other problems you mentioned. Then again, I like the SummerSlam'92 match with Warrior and Savage way more than I do the Wrestlemania VII, only difference being the post-match angle being awesome at WM VII and quite shitty at SS'92. I'm sure there are other similar instances, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

  25. Cody/Kaiser was good. The post match promo was solid as well. Rey/Knight was good and a nice showcase for Knight overall. So happy to see him finally get a victory. The post match segment with things finally coming to a head with Rey and Dom was good. That pop for Rey smacking Dom was tremendous. Very curious to see how the Wrestlemania match plays out. If Rey isn't retiring or leaving soon i kind of want him to win just so Dom can become an even bigger asshole when he vents his frustration over losing. Lacy/Xia vs. Shotzi/Nattie was a match. Nothing overly bad or impressive. Was nice to see Nattie on the apron pulling the crowd behind Shotzi. GUNTHER/Butch was good stuff. Loved the ways Gunther would cut off Butch and the eventual comeback from Butch was nice as well. The KO/Sami segment was a nice little nod to the Bloodline shirt segment from last year. Loved KO telling Sami he gets one hug a year before breaking down and doing it again. Its exactly how one of my sisters treats me and my oldest sister sometimes during holidays and birthdays. Three fairly good matches and some decent segments. Fun show overall.

  26. I was fine with it, because every now and then you need your surprising quick finish to keep fans on their toes. If I was running a promotion I'd have a big match end quick like that at least a couple times a year, like Hiromu/KUSHIDA style.

  32. Are we not counting 'Battle in the Valley'? Mercedes vs. Kairi went 26 minutes. I would have also preferred a straight up Mercedes vs. AZM match however I recently watched Stardom's Triangle Derby Finals and Hazuki looked great. AZM vs. Starlight Kid was excellent as expected.

  34. In the 80s, the ropes were red, white and blue They went to all red ropes in the attitde era, and then started colour coding them for Raw and Smackdown during the brand split silliness.

  37. I only skimmed through the first 4 or 5 pages so apologies if this was brought up already. But I am shocked not to see much talk on the rope color. It actively took away from my enjoyment of the show. It was distracting and off putting. It felt like a low rent flea market independent that tries to pretend like they are WWE from the 80s. It doesn't fit AEW's brand. It's like some try hard shit. I guess I'm probably the only one that feels this way. I'm starting to feel like man yelling at clouds. But I like traditional guard rails. I like simple black ropes. I'm not a fan of AEW WWE'ing their on screen presentation. I hate the look of WWE shows. Everything is so gaudy and over produced. And it seems like AEW is starting to do that. It's starting to turn me off. Maybe I'm alone in that. Maybe I'm gonna go full Drew here and the production look will be my Young Bucks lol. Yes, yes, Vikingo & Kenny was fucking awesome. I loved it. But I would have loved it way more if I wasn't so distracted by the new aesthetics. Thanks for reading my rant. Now get off my lawn.

  38. Yeah, I watched Ishii/Finlay and the Bishamon match came on and I was like, "Oh, I guess I'll watch this too." And, MAN, does that match suck you in. It was weird. I loved Goto and YOSHI-HASHI just MANNING UP.

  40. I'm a firm believer that Jericho and the Bucks have been politicking like crazy, but Punk has done himself no favors. All he had to do was keep his head down and mouth shut publicly. Instead, he took every single piece of bait, hung Tony and the company out to dry, and now this.

  41. Someone pointed this out to me elsewhere but with Punk referring to it as a Rocky III angle, with Rocky III being the one where Rocky gets destroyed, goes away to train like hell and rediscover his roots before coming back and avenging himself... that basically suggests loudly that the first Mox/Punk match was supposed to take place much earlier than it did. Now whether it being delayed to the point where it was so close to the ppv match that it was at best confusing (at worst actively dumb) was because he wasn't cleared and they were rushing him back or he didn't want to do it and was dragging his feet I'll leave to better men than me to argue... but if true chalk this up as yet another time Tony just would not alter his plans no matter what even if the timing no longer makes any sense. The other note is that Tony looks even worse with how the press conference unfolded. This all coming out of nowhere and catching him so off guard that he lets Punk attack everyone while grinning like an idiot is bad but at least somewhat understandable. At this point it's clear a bunch was going on leading into that ppv and he wasn't caught off guard at all (unless he's a moron, which I'm not sure is fair), which means he was straight negligent. Anyways I thought Rocky Balboa was good too, generally it was a fun run of flicks.

  43. Cody Rhodes and Ludwig Kaiser wrestle! Delayed Vertical Suplex that Cody turns into a FACEBUSTER! Kaiser with the DDT. Cody punches Kaiser in the face on the outside! Giovanni Vinci CHEATS! Solo Sikoa comes out! Cody sells the knee! Cross Rhodes! There you go! Rey Mysterio and LA Knight wrestle! LA Knight has nice punches. Rey hits his offense and he is awesome. Dominik Mysterio shows up! He's dressed like a 1993 Pearl Jam fan! LA Knight kicks Rey in the face and Rey leans way into it. Nice Powerslam by Knight. LA Knight hits a thingy that I haven't seen before FOR TWO! Rey DDTs to comeback! Dominik INTERJECTS! LA Knight wins with the Schoolboy! POSTMATCH! Mrs Mysterio gets on the mic! Dom disses his mom! REY PUNCHES DOMINIK! THE MATCH IS ON! That was awesome. XI Li and Lacey Evans! Shotzi has the tank! She is tagging with Natalya! Evans is a HEAT MACHINE! Li with a nice Suplex. Shotzi hits a tope! Natalya applies the Sharpshooter! That was short. GUNTHER IS AWESOME. Hey! They made a match! Well, THIS should be good. GREAT SUPLEX by GUNTHER! Man, it must suck to be in the ring with GUNTHER. Butch gets bent in two with a Boston Crab. GREAT RELEASED GERMAN SUPLEX! MAAAN, this is an EPIC assbeating. Butch has a little comeback. GUNTHER cuts him off with a Sleeper Hold! Everybody at ringside attacks everybody at ringside! GUNTHER CRUSHES Butch with an inverted Air Raid Crash! That was fun little episode. GUNTHER! GUNTHER! GUNTHER!

  44. Speaking of a time capsule, even as a diehard hardcore boxing fan, it's kinda hard to explain the Icarus too close to the sun, weird phenomenon that was Tommy Morrison. As the further we move from the early 90s, it gets harder and harder. Now try to explain why he's the goddamn co-star of a tentpole, well known universally beloved franchise. Mr. T, I understand. Morrison didn't even have that cache in the boxing world. He had the WBO heavyweight title back when the WBO wasn't considered one of the major alphabet orgs in boxing. I know Ronda Rousey was gonna be the star of the Roadhouse remake (before Holly Holm casted her spirit to the shadow realm) back when she was UFC champ that Jake Gyllenhaal is filming right now, but that would have been easier to explain to someone. I have no answer as to why and how he got that role other than he was just the latest great white hype. Other than that, I got nothing.
