  1. This is the third ROH PPV I've ordered and ALL of them were ordered because of FTR being on them. FTR moves the needle so put them on last.

  2. In an INSANE year for great wrestling, FTR and Briscoes have easily 3 of the 10 greatest matches. Maybe 3 of the top 5. Straight top 3 is not unreasonable. Unreal. I woke up at 4:30 am for this. Worth it. Loved the whole show, from Cobb's insane strength to the Giant Swing tapout. Crowd was amazing. Ocho!! Final thought before nap-time: Dalton Castle should team up with

  3. I think they should play it up: "The only team too dangerous for network TV! You can only see them in ROH on pay-per-view!"

  5. A vaccine helps teach your body how to fight a disease it has never seen before. The boosters help it learn the new tricks that virus has in store now. Vaccines, in general, are never about preventing infection. They're about saving your life when you do get infected. You know who would have appreciated having a COVID vaccine available? The 11 people I know that have died. Including my uncle, who died a week before his appointment. Don't open a new thread until I or another mod decide on what to do.

  7. I think I'm going to order Final Battle. Besides, what else am I going to watch on a Saturday @ 4? Re-runs of Classic Concentration on Buzzr?

  8. AWESOME! Dralistico and RUSH have new graphics! RUSH is so fucking awesome. AR Fox and Blake Christian bumo all over the building for him. RUSH is fucking killing Blake Christian and we all party and freak out! Oh man, Rush and Dralistico are fucking awesome. Blake Exploiders to TRANSITION TO OFFENSE! AR Fox goes on offense and it's FUN! AR Fox CRUSHES Dralistico with 2022 Swanton! AR FOX WITH THE FLASHPIN! Rush and Dralistico are infuriated! Postmatch, Rush kills everybody dead! ATHENA! ATHENA! ATHENA! Well, THIS match is fucking awesome. Athena punching out of the STF is fucking awesome. GNARLY BRAINBYSTER after a GNARLY EXPLOIDER by Martinez. Athena is obviously OVER in Texas and Mercedes finally embracing being a heel is good. O FACE! ATHENA IS YOUR NEW ROH WORLD CHAMPION! That was fucking great. It's the King Of Texas, Shane Taylor! Keith Lee, from Witchita Falls, shows up! Oh man, is Keith Lee going to turn on Swerve and join Shane Taylor? Taylor and Swerve are awesome in the ring together. NASTY FUCKING LEGDROP BY TAYLOR! That was fucking GREAT. FINALLY! TAYLOR AND KEITH LEE! FUCKING K DRILLER ON KEITH LEE BY TAYLOR! FOR TWO! That match was a total trainwreck, but it was fucking awesome in how weird it was. Shane Strickland abandons Lee and JD Griffey accidentally kicks Taylor and Lee CRUSHES Griffey and gets the win. Shane Taylor is so fucking awesome. (Then I went to my daughter's birthday party. I'll finish this tomorry!)

  9. I thought it was an excellent show, very enjoyable all the way through. Preshow was fun with Top Flight/Kingdom the obvious highlight. RUSH and Dralistico got screwed! Nice match before that though, AR Fox was on fire with the dives. Athena/Mercedes was solid although with a role swap since the crowd was 100% Athena in her home. The turnbuckle bit distracted a little from the finish as the crowd got pissed at security for taking the buckle back from the fan that caught it. The title win felt like a big deal and a nice moment for Athena, well deserved. Swerve/Lee v. Shane/JD was one of the matches I was looking forward to the most and it absolutely delivered. Keith was SUPER over as another hometown guy and I loved the massive pop for when he caught Taylor in mid air. Crowd was hot for any and all Keith/Shane face offs and they played that up nicely throughout. Bit on a few of the near falls. I still was holding out hope that Swerve/Lee would work it out and continue to be a team despite their differences. Once Swerve walked out, I thought Shane/JD should take it but ultimately it ended up a great overcome the odds anyway finish for Keith. Garcia/Yuta was great as usual. Finish felt out of nowhere and I didn't see it coming, totally expected Garcia to be retaining. Seeing all these title changes I started to wonder if maybe The Ocho had a chance and then I was really buying it when Menard said they were gonna make Claudio tag with Hager in a team called "Hat Trick" (AEW filed to trademark that term last week) Briscoes/FTR was amazing as always. I had a feeling the Briscoes couldn't go 0-3. Incredible war as expected, loved the dog collar stip. Kept thinking it wouldn't end until they went through that table outside. Mark's flip bump onto the floor instead was wild. FTR wearing white as Dax ends up with blood stained trunks by the end of it. Wondering if FTR lose all their other titles before bouncing back by finally winning back the AEW tags as the ones that eluded their collection run. The Gunns getting involved after had me wanting to see a triple threat tag. Joe/Juice was solid despite it's random feeling, more competitive than I expected. Main event ruled. Finish was an out of nowhere shocker to see the Swing actually get the win, but thought it was built to really well with the prior teases and the initial counter of the Swing rolled through in to the Walls was fantastic. Big pop for the win. The Ocho was a hell of a run, loved it. This was another cool title win moment for Claudio.

  10. I fucking love Wheeler Yuta so much. I know there’s some goofs on this board who don’t seem to think he’s worth investing in, but this guy has pure babyface energy. Tons of it. I love this dude. Also, FTR fucking rules. I predict a heel turn and AEW title win for these guys soon. To borrow a phrase from DEAN; ROH rules the motherfucking world!!!

  11. That Mox/Takeshita match was Mox wrestling like a true company ace, and Takeshita wrestling like a future ace. The crowd felt awesome in general for Rampage, and Shida vs Bunny and Orange vs Seven was a lot of fun too. Best Rampage ep in a while.

  13. HOLY SHIT! MOX vs KONOSUKE TAKESHITA! FUCK YEAH! They go slightly BattlARTS early! Great counter wrestling by Lard Lad. MOX is so fucking GREAT. GREAT FUCKING RANA/DDT by Takeshita followed by a GREAT Tope Con Hilo! Oh man, I got to fit in the International Feed tomorrow as this match goes completely FMW. YES! FUCKING MOX RULES! BLOOD, DADDY! JESUS CHRIST! THAT IS SOME BLOOD! Skinning the Cat into a Lariat! DDT on the APRON! DDT IN THE RING FOR TWO! When will Takeshita start bleeding. Great fucking KING KONG LARIAT! GREAT FUCKING EVEREST BRAINBUSTER FOR TWO! BLUE THUNDER BOMB! This match is fucking AWESOME. EVEREST GERMAN SUPLEX FOR TWO! Konosuke Takeshita goes up BIG for the Death Rider! The crowd is MOLTEN when Takeshita kicks out. THIS IS FUCKING GREAT! BULLDOG CHOKE FOR THE WIN! That was fucking awesome. Postmatch, MOX gets beat on by Hangman Page! Man, MOX did all this while having the flu? MOX is the wrestler of the year. Austin is the wrestling capital of the world. THE BUNNY! RATINGS! HIKARU SHIDA! Probably RATINGS! I love that the sixth biggest Joshi promotion in Japan is getting all this exposure on US TV. Both of these gals got the memo from ATHENA and start laying it in. The Bunny applies an AWESOME looking Tarantula because she makes the Scream Queen face while applying it. Oh man, I can't wait for the International Feed to actually see the Bunny beat the crud out of Shida. The Bunny looks fucking great in this match. Shida hits the Bunny's finisher! OH MAN, METEORA OFF THE APRON LOOKED NASTY! KAORU EXCALIBER by Shida! FOR TWO! Katana for the win! That was good! That was the best the Bunny has looked since IMPACT! Lee Moriarty is SHOWBOATING before Big Bill comes in and kills everybody. Oh man, I so STOKED about FTR vs the Briscoes tomorrow. JANE! Orange Cassidy takes on a dude I saw wrestle once on NXT UK. I'm excited! It's TRENT SEVEN! They are fucking around a lot in this match. The Butcher and the Blade come out and the Best Friends meet then on the ramp! Okay, so they are booking the SHIT out of this. Trent Seven is very much Greg Valentine and that is awesome. NICE Superplex by Seven. Seven is lighting up Cassidy's chest. Nice Tequila Sunrise Suplex by Seven. EMERALD FROZIEN BY SEVEN! Okay, this match is weird and great. Cassidy goes up BIG for Seven's Lariat and it looked fucking GREAT. This match is great. GREAT FUCKING TWISTING PILEDRIVER by SEVEN! This match is fucking awesome. Orange Punch and Beach Break for the win! I assume they are signing Trent Seven. He looked fucking great. What a great epsiode. AEW RULES THE MOTHERFUCKING FUCKING MOTHERFUCKING WORLD!

  14. Sorry, but how is this them giving up if they're on an app that works and under a monthly subscription? Would it really be different if they were on HBO Max and having to get a cut from WBD instead of pocketing the whole thing on their own? I just checked it and the ROH app has practically everything there. Now that TK announced it just advertise the crap out of it now and it's a win.

  15. If I'm not mistaken part of the AEW TV contract is TK isn't allowed to work with a competitor while with WBD. Again it's a fluid situation but unless TK wanted to risk souring the WBD relationship, if they passed on ROH there really isn't any other option. Technically ROH isn't AEW. But don't think for a second there wouldn't be some legalities involved and lawyering around what constitutes as a AEW / ROH by WBD's definitions. At this point I'm on board with scrapping ROH. AEW is the brand here. You're starting to hurt the mothership for the side project. Unify all the titles. Keep the library in your back pocket. Get back to focusing on the one true brand you are trying to create a legacy for. This ROH thing has been misstep after misstep from day one. This is literally no different than The Invasion. You bought something with an idea in mind. That idea didn't come to fruition. Quit beating the dead horse and just move on.

  17. Firstly, loved the time slot. Some nice stuff on the pre-show, namely Cobb-Dorada and the terrific Kingdom-Top Flight bouts. In the opener, Roosh looked fucking insane after that bummer finish, AR Fox looked fucking insane before it. Fun match to open despite what looked to be a horrible ref botch. Loved seeing Athena get her flowers! I hope this doesn't mean she's a babyface tho. Swerve/Lee-Taylor/Griffey was not without it's moments-good, bad and ugly. Griffey might have something, but he needs a lot of work. Taylor mostly has everything he needs, but a looser short/pant would do his look wonders. Six man tag title match was a ridiculous mess at most points. Did I see one of those Boys basically no-sell a drill claw? Castle is awesome and deserves a better set of Boys. The highlight was easily Nana's excitement over the win. Garcia-Yuta delivered the high quality truly inspired pro wrestling I was hoping for. FTR v Briscoes was easily worth the price of admission, and may have been my favorite match of the year. Very happy to see the Briscoes score the deserved win. That match didn't need the hindsight of seeing this entire PPV to know it should have been the Main Event. How do you follow that kind of bloody perfection!? Ya Don't! Joe-Juice was a rare 'terribly uninspired piece of booking' from TK, but the match played out perfectly fine. Robinson needs to play to his strengths and work the Ricky Morton spot in a tag team. I had an odd hope and feeling the 'King of Television' might announce the new TV/streaming deal post-match, but uh nope. Jericho v Claudio was a high quality and fun pro wrestling bout. I'm not so sure that was a great finish, but I totally popped for it. Excellent fun on Saturday afternoon. What's the weekly TV/streaming deal tho? Is this perhaps being discussed as I type?

  18. IT's ZERO HOUR! GIANT WADS OF PRO WRESTLING! We are starting it off WEIRD with Jeff Cobb versus Mascara Dorada! Jeff Cobb goes all Lucha Libre before reverting to his TRUE robot form and uses his bizarrely FREAKISH strength to crush Dorada like a bug. Mascarada Dorada makes a lunatic comeback, being all spectacular and whatnot. Jesus, Cobb is a fucking machine. Speaking of which, Cobb versus Brian Cage would be fun. IT'S DADDY MAGIC! HE and Cool Hand Ange take Eli Issom and Cheeseburger! Daddy Magic rules. Cool Hand with a Garvin Stomp! CB is our face in peril. A Double DDT and that's that. Trish Adora! Willow Nightingale! The crowd comes alive. Willow /Athena will be a pretty molten feud if they do it right. Willow is truly beloved in Texas. This is the best Adora has looked in AEW. Trish Adora's make-up baffled me. I was like, "Is she wrestling with glasses on?" BUT IT WAS HER MAKE-UP! I AM A FOOL! Willow with the POUNCE! High angle on the Doctor Bomb! That was good. The Kingdom! Top Flight! Well, this should be good. Kingdon CHEAT early! Dante is quickly moved into the Ricky Morton role. Darius is the Matt to Dante's Jeff. Mike Bennett is very underrated. Nice Spinebuster by Bennett. GREAT Decapitation Variation by the Kingdom. Bennett makes with the Double Wristlock! Darius and Bennett have a great striking section. Matt Taven makes Dante look even more spectacular than he usually looks. Oh man, this match is fun! HIGH SPOT TRAIN! Dante loses his footing! MAria is KICKED OUT BY THE REF AND THE CROWD GOES CRAZY! I LOVE THAT! SUPERCOMPLEX FINISHER BY TOP FLIGHT! That was great.

  20. Ok, so we have TWELVE people. That's a lot of people. Some are new. That's great. Remember, most important thing is to give your partner a match. If you think you won't check the board for a few days, well, try to sneak in on Saturday to do that much at least. Nothing over 30. Hear what your partner has to say. Don't worry about killing yourself on the review. Did you like it or not. What worked/what didn't? What stood out? What surprised you? Etc. By the way, I'll take whatever. I watch enough wrestling along the lines of what I'm wanting to watch that it's pretty easy. I mean, don't give me Omega/Okada or anything. If you really need help and have the knowledge, post 87 Maeda, pre-AEW Darby Allin, the very best SHIMMER had to offer, CMLL from the last couple of years, but just surprise me really. @Execproducer @SirSmellingtonofCascadia --- @The Natural @Curt McGirt --- @porksweats @Gordlow --- @Sammo~! @John E. Dynamite --- @Super Ape @DEAN --- Matt D @thee Reverend Axl Future RAF, Maniac Matt Borne in South Africa against a Otto Wanz-ian local hero.

  22. That's twice Takeshita has lost to Mox. Kind of like Wheeler, he's getting closer. The crowd wanted him to go over there at the end. The third match in the trilogy whenever that will be has to go to Takeshita.

  24. Not to take anything away from him as a wrestler, but given his physique I have to ask: did Trent Seven pick his ring name specifically to invite "Seven ate nine" jokes? Like: "What happened to all the doughnuts backstage?" "Well..."

  25. As someone who can be a bit of a nag about COVID, even I think there’s no reason to be jumping to conclusions about what is or isn’t going around in the Moxley household. You could just as easily assume in the other direction that he’s been testing himself and thinks he doesn’t have it. We don’t know shit. What a strange turn this thread has taken.

  26. Jericho mentioned on his podcast that they wanted to bring in either PCO, Chris Hero, or Dragon Lee for the ROH Champ challenge but all 3 were unavailable and they considered Christopher Daniels before Tony decided on Ishii. Assuming Claudio wins it back, the Ocho was a hell of a run.

  27. Moxley/Takeshita was badass, amazing match as expected. Loved the crowd reaction to Takeshita kicking out of the Death Rider and they get so behind him that there's actually boos when Moxley retakes control towards the end. Great stuff. Bunny/Shida ruled and Orange/TrentSeven was a great main event, definitely wouldn't mind Seven sticking around.

  28. Fair point. But I'm factoring in the tiny fraction of people who will buy Honor Club. The ROH PPVs have generated around 30k buys. So lets say everyone one of those gets Honor Club. That's still only 30k people following your product in a country of 330 million. They really won't be a viable touring brand based on their own merit. They'd have to sprinkle in known AEW quantities to help draw. Then you're diluting AEW that way. Now maybe they choose to go the studio wrestling route. You alleviate the touring and need for drawing in different markets. But the numbers have borne out that studio wrestling doesn't draw as many viewers as traditional arena wrestling. So then you have a slightly different problem, less people are watching due to the content. But then you circle back to my original point. In either circumstance you're drawing resources and man power and brain power away from THE brand. It's dicey. And I'm not saying 100% for sure I'm in the right and have all the answers. I'm just saying it's been a year, they didn't get WBD to bite on a TV product, main line AEW has slowly been faltering. I just don't see the benefits of keeping this a brand going forward anymore. It's subtraction by addition. I reserve the right to change this line of thinking if TK goes hands off and allows an infrastructure where it's a developmental brand ran by someone else. But as is, I've seen enough to call it. It wasn't a bad idea. It just didn't work out. And even in not working out, it was still worth it because that library is invaluable for the future.

  29. Admittedly I didn’t see the Impact match but at the end of the day I also picked FTR/Acclaimed because it was a huge match that played out like a huge match and really showed how far Acclaimed have come this year. I loved Mox-Soup too but FTR-Acclaimed was like a PPV main event level match on my TV for free.

  31. I'm way behind and just saw the ROH preshow and Elevation Bonus Saturday edition, so will go quick: Takeshita vs Mox 2 was less of my sort of match than Takeshita vs Mox 1 but it was buoyed by the blood and the sheer hierarchy. Moxley really is Hansen in that he'll slug with you and then sneak in an eyepoke or a kick to the gut quickly and then keep plowing forward. That's pure Hansen. It was all a little back and forth for me, but it was still pretty exciting and that one-count kick out was great. I loved how Mox kept going for the double underhook and couldn't get it, until he did, and then, because he had been wrestling more from underneath after the blood started and because Takeshita is such a beast, it was just a one. Imagine the crowd next year when Takeshita actually gets a win on Mox. Really fun Bunny control segment during the commercial break. Blanking a bit on other things though. Ready for Shida vs Hayter. Moriarty doing the air guitar during his music works; other times, less so? It's probably a mistake not having Bill talk. He's got a cool factor but Satnam's out there doing a bunch of wild stuff and he's just chokeslaming people. I haven't seen Trent Seven in years but he played along well with Cassidy. That first mustache bit was funny. The extracurriculars here were good. That twisting piledriver is such a neat move. Seven's Seven but it's important to note it was yet another good Cassidy match in a year full of them.

  33. @Sammo~! We got Perro Aguayo vs. Nikozuna (Sam Fatu/Tama/Tonga Kid) in a bloody Hair vs. Hair match. The action doesn't start until seven minutes into the vid cause Perro's gotta cut a rah-rah patriot promo about it being September in Mexico and the match follows suit. Pure Megaface vs. Foreign Monster.

  34. For @John E. Dynamite Happy Secret Santo! Please enjoy Takako Inoue vs Dynamite Kansai from 1995. I picked this mostly because I know you like 90s Joshi and I think Takako Inoue is really underrated, largely because her generation of wrestlers is a GOAT herd.

  39. I voted for Konosuke Takeshita vs Jon Moxley. Mostly because after Takeshita did that sick looking Frankensteiner followed up by the old Samoa Joe running boot to a seated Jon Moxley outside I yelled "SAMOE JOE!" at my TV in a Scott Steiner voice. No other wrestling match was good enough this week to make me do an involuntary Scott Steiner impression.

  40. I figure FTR vs. Briscoes has to go last since in that Briscoes promo that talked about going buck wild in this type of matches & the ringside should look like a warzone if this match is anything like old ROH/FIP Briscoes hardcore matches.

  41. In 14 days I'm going to be 40. One the one hand I'm happy. But on the other hand it depresses the fuck out of me. In the past 40 years we're no closer to worldwide acceptance. In the past 40 years people still hate each other for who they are and what they want to be. In the past 40 years there's been little to no indication that things will be better soon or even 40 years from now. And yet while I might be personally be happy with where I am I am so incredibly depressed. I love you all. I even love myself. It's just.....I wish had words to properly express it all. But while I'm not a wordsmith I'll try. Remember those songs from 40 or 50 years ago talking about peace on Earth during Christmas? Yeah, what about that? I know a lot of it has to do with people much richer or influential than us. But in that time can we honestly say that we have all done all that we can to help? I think about that a lot. On the one hand I like to think I have but reality might say otherwise. I just know I want to be better not just for myself but for people in general. I am by no means a saint, not even close. But I just want to be better. And if possible I would wish for others to be better. Will it happen? I hope so, but forgive me if I'm pessimistic. I'll try my damndest though to be optimistic and hope for the best. I just wish that others near and dear to me feel the same way.

  43. Never thought I'd see the day where Gordlow & DEAN both vote for an Impact match over stuff like Mox vs Takeshita (and everything else), but Speedball and Alexander really earned it this week. If enough people see that match... Would this be the first time Impact wins DVDVR MOTW?
