My knock on Atlantis Jr. Vs. Stuka Jr. is that it took five matches to tell the whole story, what with the Parejas Increibles tournament and whatever that seeding match was doing. CMLL TV only aired the final of the whole shindig, obvious though the result was it still feels like a nibble as opposed to a bite. Jarochita/Isis felt like an entire event, maybe even a starting point to a new surge in Mexican women's wrestling (hopeful about that Gran Prix lineup). But I recognize that Stuka losing his mask was more emotional, that Atlantis Jr. starting his inherited duty of taking masks posseses more long-term gravitas. And that missed tope was far and away the best televised spot of the week.

AEW IN CANADA!!!! ROH World Champion Chris Jericho defends against Bryan Danielson I think Danielson will be a huge crowd favourite despite Jericho being Canadian. Winnipeg is not Toronto. "Canada" is not a hometown. Everyone loves Bryan Danielson. Jungle Boy vs. Luchasaurus (w/ Christian Cage) I feel like I should be more excited for this one. It's David vs Goliath with a back-story. We should be champing at the bit for this one. Maybe they turned the dinosaur too often? Hopefully they'll win us all over once they get going in the ring. Swerve Strickland vs. Billy Gunn Yeah, sure, why not? Expect the unexpected. Presumably we'll get a big crowd-popping Acclaimed moment or two here. Interim AEW Women's World Champion Toni Storm & Hikaru Shida vs. Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter Downside: Only one women's match per network show. Upside: Every one of those matches has been awesome recently. Expect that streak to continue here. Looking forward to hearing the Toronto crowd's reaction to Hayter. AEW All-Atlantic Champion PAC defends against Orange Cassidy These guys match up really well and there has been some nice build to this one. Could steal the show.

It's turning into a big night of wrestling. The best episode of DARK ever and NOW! NXT! Hey! It's Booker T! Bron Breakker goes totally Steiner from the get go. His Lariat is so much better than his dad's. His punches are as crappy as his dad's. Breakker is awesome. It's Axiom and Nathan Frazer with the RUBBER MATCH! They start off World of Sport again. Okay, this is already great and they are just doing the mirror section. This reminds me of Keichi Yamada versus Marc Rocco from World of Sport. I love all the crazy sudden spots. This is like Young Davey versus Iron Fist Clive Meyers, in that it is total workrate. So maybe this is like Manami Toyota versus Kyoko Inoue. Preposterous counter to a Boston Crab into a PINNING PREDICAMENT! Great fucking submission by Axiom. SPECTACULAR Springboard ASAI MOONSAULT by Axiom. There's not a lot of selling so this is kinda indie, but it is way fun. So this is like a Young Bucks match. THAT's what it is. That was the best Young Bucks match in the history of the WWE. That was fun. Valentina Feroz! She wrestles ever two months or so. It's Indi Hartwell! Will Dexter Lumis bust up from underneath the ring! So they can make out! Feroz is neat with all the submissions. She's spunky. I like her. Hartwell wins with a Superplex like she is Bob Orton Jr and it's 1987, so AWESOME. PRETTY DEADLY! GO SPORTS! Oh geez, a Triple Threat Match. Ug! A Tag team Three Way Dance. I' m kinda glazing over. Briggs and/or Jensen hits a nice Plancha. Hey! Briggs stole JD Drake's move. And he did it better than JD Drake so it's completely heartbreaking. Sad really. Malik Blade hits a nice Tope Con Hilo. Blade and Idris Enofe win! It makes sense because it's s FRESH match up but it is so much more awesome when Pretty Deadly can make fun of Briggs and Jensen for being Nu Country idiots. But it will be better in the ring this way. It's Jacy Jayne! It's Alba Fyre! This is good. Gigi Dolin distracts Fyre! Jayne goes on offense! Fyre hits a nice Powerbomb. Gory Bomb by Fyre and that's that. That was not very long. Hey! It's Sonya Deville! She and Toxic Attraction beat the crud out of Alba Fyre! It's Wes Lee versus Stacks! Will Lee make Stacks look like two million bucks? Stacks channels Ric Flair and crimps the knee of Wes Lee. Stacks is good. I never paid attention to him much before. Wes Lee hits a spinning thingy for the win! Postmatch, Trick Williams and Carmello Hayes attacks Wes Lee and THEN! Oro Mensah makes the save. Kiana James! Thea Hail! Hail is very Nikki ASH feel when Nikki was a face. That was over before it started. Ilja Dragunov takes on Grayson Waller! This should be good. Waller is prolly the best guy in the ring in NXT. Waller is great in this. He hits the Booker T Scissor Kick! Booker T versus Grayson Waller is the new DREAM MATCH! Waller procures the CRAVATE! Then Dragunov beats the living hell out of Waller. And Waller goes back on offense and he beats the living hell out of Dragunov! Dragunov hits cool suplexes! His finisher is odd. That was a good episode.

Britney Blake gets smacked around by Deeb. Penelope Ford looked great. Deeb's joyeaux de Pro Wrestling is contagious. Marina Shafir versus Hikaru Shida! Ibuki Hoshi citation by Excaliber! Fun use of Vickie and Nyla to get Shafir on offense. GNARLY GERMAN SUPLEX BY SHAFIR! The crowd gets behind Shida's STRUGGLE to escape the MMA offense of Marina Shafir! Missile Dropkick FOR TWO! Fun submission spot by Shafir and Shida makes the ropes! KAORU EXCALIBER FOR TWO! Spinning heel wheel crescent kick for the win! That match was a hoot! Brian Cage is all over the place suddenly. It's Papadon again! JESUS, THAT WAS A FUCKING NASTY DEATH VALLEY DRIVER by Cage. I like this Papadon guy. He lays it in. Papadon gets in more than Cage does. Cage CRUSHES him with a K-Driller. That was great. This is a good little episode of DARK. It's the very tall Gia Scott! She's like 6'1". She's good. This episode has all the indie ladies AEW needs to sign. Gia Scott and Queen Aminata need to join the Baddies so three Amazonian ladies can crush the AEW midcard. Athena is SO FUCKING AWESOME as she takes Scott's offense including an RVD sell of THING that Scott. NICE Sky High Powerbomb by Scott. Athena is making Scott look like two million bucks. Athena is the best wrestler in AEW. Scott takes the Finisher pretty well. That was fucking great. Athena makes Scott look like a killer. YES! ACTION ANDRETTI! It's HEAT MACHINE, QT Marshall! QT Marshall gets the crowd into the match prematch! QT challenges Athena for Best Maker Of A Opponent To Look Like Two Million Bucks. He doesn't beat Athena but I dig the effort. Action Andretti is the new Blake Christian of DARK. QT is making him look like a million and half bucks! He is definitely the new Blake Christian. The crowd gets fucking MOLTEN at the nearfalls. THAT match was fucking GREAT! This is the best episode of DARK in a while. Dalton Castle and the Boys! AWESOME! FOUR BOYS AUXILLARY! LET'S BREAK SOME HEARTS!! DALTON WITH THE EVEREST GERMAN SUPLEX! GREATEST TRIPLE SPINNING BANG-A-RANG!!!! So fucking great! Wait a minute, Castle's theme is "Radio Gaga" by Queen! Such a great episode. Brandon Cutler two days in a row! Kip Sabian! So Cutler is having the two best matches of the week. TWO DAYS! TWO AIRPLANE SPINS! Taz goes off the rails by commenting on Sabian vomiting into boxes. Cutler might vomit too! Sabian hits his finisher! Action Andretti CUTS A PROMO! Hey! Maybe he got signed. Emi Sakura takes on Toni Storm! This is the second time they have squared off! They fuck around more in this one. Then it kicks in and I LOVE the MONGOLIAN CHOPS! Then they start beating the shit out of each other. Emi is SUCH the Queen of AEW YouTube. She is so fucking good. That match was great. GREATEST EPISODE OF DARK EVER! It's our main event! This will be the fourth best match of this episode. NICKY BOY is at ringside! Dante Martin is extra spectacular in this match. Cole Karter takes his ass beating. Martin must be feeling the heat from Vikingo, Komander and Laredo Kid to be the most spectacular guy on the scene. NICKY BOY CHEATS! YES! Dante is great on the apron getting the crowd into Sydel's STRUGGLE to escape the Factory's lower card offense. Solo and Karter are good Southern tag heels. Dante makes the hot tag and he is more spectacular that Montez Ford and Laredo Kid. He's better all around than Komander. He is second to El Hijo del Vikingo. He is fucking spectacular. This is going to have more matches in the weekly poll than RAW. GREATEST DARK EVER!

In case you're wondering if Cornette is still exactly wrong about everything, I started a couple of his videos despite myself just now, and found out he hates Yuta and Garcia and thinks Cage/Wardlow sucked.

RAW was really good last night. Even the DX stuff that I figured would be dumb at least was funny. Really was surprised that Brock showed up. Was pissed that he cost Lashley the US Title. I was enjoying Lashley as champion. Sami Zayn is so over right now. It's really going to be something amazing when Roman flips the switch on him and takes him out.

About the eyeball story... wrestling stories should be like fishing stories. I don't care if they're 100% as long as the lies are easily recognized and there to add color. I don't care if his eye actually feel out, but gouging an eye is a story, pulling a dude's eyeball out is a hell of a story.
