I have stayed away from the WWE because reasons. But I did catch up on this. When I saw Miz was going all chickenshit heel, I thought they were going to try and do a redo of a few recent Mania chases where the face keeps getting the legs pulled out from him before getting the big win at Mania. I am glad they did not do that because Lashley is way better as just an overwhelming force. And the whole thing with The Hurt Business engineering it so Miz won the title makes them look like really cunning strategists — a really great cool heel stable. (If they are heels, since I have no idea, but they are cool as hell.) Doing it that way also sets up a great Unconquerable Beasts match with Drew if they go that route. I personally think Drew is a snooze but that would be a really great match between two badasses. The last time they had something similar feels like Wyatts Vs. Shield. Unless another returning dude is coming back I have no recollection of. Breaking it into this type of pattern also makes The Yes Movement and Kofimania (maybe my favorite arc ever) so much more special. And it gives Edge the possible Miracle Win story against Reigns. Also: Let’s also give a major round of applause to The Miz. He put over a dude clean via a full Nelson. He played a fantastic sniveling coward the whole evening yet still looked like an opportunist with a cheap shot with the belt to start the match. Miz really did a fantastic job. He is clearly a Hall of Fame guy. Who the hell would have thought that when he made his debut? But he has gotten more guys over than anyone in memory, delivers his material well even when the material sucks, and can fill any spot on the card — main event heel, tag worker in the undercard, comedy stuff. The one thing he has never done is had a big face run, but it is pretty easy to see that happening at some point of his career if he has a heel as good as he is to ever work with.

So, I had a pretty big hearing, first time in a long time with actually having to show up to court, witnesses etc. Prosecutor was asking a question that was pretty clearly asking for hearsay, so I jump up to object and say "ALEXA!" Nobody says or does anything so I say "Objection! Calls for hearsay!" Judge sustains the objection, we move on. No one even acknowledged that I had said "Alexa" instead of objection. My co-counsel didn't even catch it. I'm going to have to order the transcript.

I read about the 9pm part and saw the 10pm segment. I had the ending of the show on prepared for fuckery and disappointment. For all I know Braun was out there and he could have stepped in or they could have reversed the decision somehow. But I was prepared for whatever happened. What I wasn't prepared for was them getting it right and Bobby winning. Prepared for bed I sat right up but couldn't fully relax until the show faded to black. Then I come on here and see the responses at the time and it hit me. No matter how jaded we can be we all bit on what they were presenting. For as much as Raw can and does suck when they actually care they can still produce something special. Which makes it all the more frustrating because if they cared like they did for this then it's not hard to turn things around. But all that matters is they got this right and it was excellent. Also wanted to credit Miz for doing a helluva job in trying to weasel his way out of the match. I like the guy and even I wanted him to see his ass get handed to him.
