  2. This might be my favorite match of all time.

  4. Just moving the hard cam to face the ramp and darkening the empty seats did so much for the appearance of the show in this climate. There was movement behind the match, you didn't constantly see the empty seats, the ten or so guys spread in the crowd made enough noise that it didn't feel bombed out... All pretty simple stuff

  6. The Fantastics are so brilliant, but if you cannot appreciate the sheer clubberin' savagery of the mighty Kiwi Sheepherders, then you might have been brought up wrong, son. They essentially fight with a collection of dirty sticks and string. Singlets and fatigues and boots = strong proto-FMW style consciousness, too. This makes my heart ache it is so good. - RAF

  8. XXX was the last time I had a WrestleMania party where the show was entertaining and short enough that people didn’t politely file out before the main. I finally stopped having them because by the end of the shows it was technically the following day and I’d be sitting by myself watching matches that got me thinking I should’ve also walked out of my own house.

  10. Let's finish off de Zarzecki vs LeDuc: All of these "hold on as your opponent tries to throw you off" exchanges are so interesting. You'd get that in 80s matches but just for one hold usually. Here, they might have four of these in a technical match. This is deep in the match, believable, and awesome. Now we get to the really cool think. Look at this. I don't even know what to call it: But what's really novel is what LeDuc does with it. How great is this: Finish is really good too, but I don't like spoiling those. Anyway if you watch any of the matches we post next Tuesday/Weds, go with this one. It's excellent.

  11. So the episode where Maul takes over Deathwatch, Black Sun, and the Hutt crime family was worth sitting through ten droid episodes.

  12. I've been working from home since 2001, so not much has changed there. I'm also 90% homebound due to my COPD and need for oxygen 24/7, I do go out from time to time but not very damned often. (Not that there's much to see or do in Gallup, NM). However, with the COPD if I catch this shit, stick a fork in me, I'm done. I like writing horror, I'm not real big on living it.

  13. Long armbar spot with a good bit of this: Leads to an Andre style headcrusher and the fans counting along with the ten count, which I've not yet seen out of 1950s France. Zarzecki comes back with a full nelson and I love it when someone locks in one of those in that footage because you know something interesting will probably happen: There's so much in this match that I'm skipping stuff, like finger manipulation or another Leduc hammerlock (to set up his beale) that's cut off by a nasty elbow. Here's another striking exchange, punctuated with a headbutt though: One more post to come with this match with some of the best stuff yet.

  14. They're counting on people's hate boner for Corbin to get Gronk over. So basically, it's time to start loving and appreciating Corbin for the fantastic work he does.

  17. Chromecast is the shit - and a piece of piss to set up. Best thing about it for me is you can cast from your phone to your TV - but you don't have to keep the app open e.g. you can close it and keep working away on your phone whilst the TV is playing whatever you cast to it. I cast Netflix a lot from my phone to my TV - but whilst I'm doing that - I'm on the internet, Twitter etc easy explainer here

  19. I don't think I even own twenty PS4 games. I hope this generation of consoles keeps everybody busy for awhile. I hope you sell your old copies of PS4 games to finance your PS5s (if not your P5S's) while Gamestop still has breathing employees. I'm a chatty local business owner, I go to plenty of shows, and my love life has been blessed for the majority of my days - point is, I get my fill of human interaction whether I want it or not. I feel like the pressure to buy a new system (instead of soaking oneself in retro) is for keeping up with the Joneses and having the same version of the same games that your bros have. But I'm not having that! I play video games for the moments when I don't have to like people! Or the modern world! Or technological advancement! I feel the same way about movies, too. Y'ever see Double Indemnity? My friends/family/customers sure haven't. I dug through a mind-numbing amount of pages on one of the larger retro game sites to put together a big ol' order of Fatal Frame II (Xbox), Shadow Hearts (PS2), Legend of Mana (PS1), Bushido Blade 2 (PS1), Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright (3DS), and Operation C (Game Boy, a Contra game!) - all of them complete-in-box (save Op C) and under current pricecharting.com numbers. Then I dug around Google and found a 15% off promo code for said website. The order is comfortably under two hundo. That's my coronavirus shut-in gamer package. Granted, I'm working 60 hour weeks at my store and am not remotely shut-in. But since I'm probably going to catch this thing while I capitalize on a crisis, I'm glad I've got a bunch of good shit to play in case my lungs get dry-fried.

  20. That Dirt Sheet segment might be the most painfully unfunny thing I've seen recently. Elias vs Corbin in an empty arena sounds like a nightmare. Bryan and Zayn should be as great as possible at Mania if they let Sami go all out and not wrestle like a manager.

  21. On the plus side, Animal Crossing is just what the doctor ordered during this time period. It's...well, it's Animal Crossing, but it's just so relaxing that it can take a lot of the edge off of life right about now.

  22. Man, I'm not sure what to do here. Make a quip about how the footage is actually from 1919. Or post that article about how easy it is to actually transmit this thing and note that guys sweating and bumping like that on the same mat probably isn't all that better than actually locking up. Or joke that the healthiest thing to do is just watch black and white footage. None of that probably. Personally, if that brought people joy, the risk in what they were doing was probably minimal enough to excuse for the joy they provided. What brings me joy is watching people from 1957 uppercut the hell out of each other and I'm happy to share that when I can. Plenty of room for all sorts of joy in this world. Here's some more for good measure: Even got a proto-Code Red with some actual oomph behind it unlike the last one which was just a cool cradle sunset flip. Crazy to think this just disappeared for decades (but then 1/4 of the matches end with power bombs, so...).

  23. So all week I was going to the Supermarket in the morning before my late shift, and shelves were bare. They adopted a policy of having the opening hour just for the elderly and vulnerable, but apparently it was a bit of a bear pit. They were all a bunch of panic buying twats. Who knew that the over 60s would be so capable of being selfish and inconsiderate*? But tonight, on my day off, I went to the Supermarket half an hour before it closed, and lo and behold the shelves were actually quite full. They don't fill the shelves overnight when they're closed, they do it late at night when they're quiet. * Everyone who's studied their voting patterns ?

  24. So am I the only one conflicted that I would really like to see Baron Corbin beat the shit out of Gronk. I guess if you are a Pats fan you love him but Gronk came off like an ass

  27. The JIP match next week is 6 mins of Guy Robin vs Jean Maujean. Robin's a mean, mostly bald bruiser who we saw against Al Hayes. Maujean, I really don't know about. I think we only see him once in the footage. He seems a step behind a lot of the other guys we've seen, but he does have some good clubbers: I mean maybe Guy Robin was just professional wrestling really well here? That said, this was a legitimately cool takeover which I don't think I've ever seen before.

  28. Fuck. That was...yeah. I don't cry often but the part about Eddie really broke me. Hearing Vickie talk about the overdoses was rough. I've put my family members in that position and they've never told me those things but I am sure some of them have thought that it might have been better to just not call 911 so hearing her put that into words really shook me. I'm not sure if I will watch the rest Tuesday (or Wednesday most likely) or wait a bit. I don't know if this period of time will be the best for something that brings me down like this will. Especially since there isn't much there to make a happy ending out of.

  29. I'm aware of Gronk's existence and his station in life, but this was the first time I've seen him interact with people and he came off like an older version of the obnoxious jock character from a teen comedy. Between he and Corbin I'm not sure who I'd like to see less.

  31. Clone Wars update: We've made it past the S5 hump. Sacrifice was skipped since it's supposed to air before Eminence, so we made it through the Freedom Fighters arc, the Younglings arc, and now finally, the Droids arc. It's all downhill from here. Maul. Mandalorians. Jedi Temple bombing. At this point, I'm definitely more excited for the 7-year old's reaction to eventual Fulcrum reveal than I was for the "I am Your Father" one. When that came, she'd only spent a little bit of time with Luke and Vader, just a couple of hours. She's spent a ton of time with Ahsoka and can relate a lot more. We'll see how things go with time home and what not. We'll watch S6 of Clone Wars since it's short, but may just skip to the current Ahsoka arc of S7. Then Ep III and Solo, and right on to Rebels. She has 0 idea about Order 66 at this point. It's such a weird way to experience all of this. None of the stuff all of us takes for granted is actually for granted.

  35. 32 is pretty bad. League of Nations, Lesnar/Ambrose, and HHH/Reigns as the main event are all terrible. Jericho/Styles was okay but not near the level it could have been. It does have Charlotte/Sasha/Becky for the new title, that one was rad, and Zack Ryder's moment if that's your thing. Odd choice but hey, content is content.

  36. Here's the violence I promised: This was followed by de Zarzecki with an elaborate bodyscissors sequence, which they actually 100% got me on here. I didn't realize this was just a spot working in and out of it and I thought this was about to be a fall pin or something. How does LeDuc finally get out then? Oh, like this (remember this was a couple of years before the Ben Chermoul match but there are a bunch of similarities):
