  1. Also: Wardlow and Hager look like the evolved/roided up versions of Marty Scurll and Orange Cassidy

  2. What a difference it makes when you have a wrestling product that doesn't have such seething disregard and hatred for its fans.

  3. I think we should probably all be in agreement the Harris Bros. SS bolts are the worst tattoos in wrestling history.

  4. I got my money's worth tonight. SCU/Dark Order delivered on the Buy In. I liked the Colt Cabana appearance and not going with the obvious choice of Christopher Daniels as the Exalted One. I feel like the Dark Order will be next in line for a tag title program, with them possibly beating Omega & Page. I felt like Darby/Sammy should have opened the show, although there was nothing technically wrong with Hager/Dustin. The tag title match was my MOTN. I loved the story being told and the Bucks being the heels in this match. I think I enjoy them more when they amp up the heelishness. I liked Page's nod to Marty with the kick to the shin and the chicken wing, and Excalibur's call of it. I also like Page not being on board with making amends like Kenny seemed to be. The women's match wasn't particularly good. I would rather see Kris Statlander with the title, but I knew that wasn't happening with Nyla only recently winning it. Nyla does a good job coming off as an unstoppable beast, but she still needs some work on the in-ring stuff. I really enjoyed MJF/Cody. IMO, MJF is the best heel going right now, maybe only with Jericho and Jay White behind him. I thought the Arn turn may have been coming after Cody's miscue. I look forward to seeing what kind of hurdles MJF makes Cody clear in order to get rematch. I loved OC/Pac. I like the set up of Best Friends & OC vs. Lucha Bros & Pac. I might have had OC pull off the upset and have Pac go ballistic after the match, but OC looked great in defeat. I like the cat being out of the bag that you can't underestimate him. It was definitely the right time for Mox to win. Like @just drew said, you gotta strike while the iron is hot. I liked the story of Mox's MMA training enabling him to counter Jericho's Boston Crab and also luring Jericho into a false sense of security with the eye injury. I'm super hyped that Newark is getting the Match Beyond. My guess for the match is the Inner Circle vs. Moxley/Darby/Dustin/Luchasaurus/Jungle Boy. Maybe we start to see dissension among the Inner Circle.

  5. Tonight was another night why I don't think it's crazy to call Kenny Omega one of the best in the world. If you think about the two tag titles matches and the Iron Man Match with Pac over the span of like ten days... I mean damn.. the year he's putting together. But Page has been fucking awesome for a good six months too.. I love this team.

  8. How about MJF spilling beer on that fan? That was GREAT. He will probably cross the line eventually but I enjoy him pushing the envelope in terms of aggressive interactions with fans. I'm here for it.

  9. I gotta give it to Cody for having the worst tattoo in wrestling history. That's quite a mountain to climb.

  10. I thought JR was fine and was having a great time. Y'all are way too hard on him.

  11. I don’t know, it sounded to me like OC made JR a believer. He legit sounded impressed afterwards.

  12. Here's how I justify it: The Jon Moxley character isn't actually smart. He comes up with plans and to him the plans "worked" because he won. But in reality he won because he's tough as nails and crazy as shit. It's like a boxer who has a great chin thinking he's great because he can eat lots of punches to the face and still land a knockout.

  15. At this point Cornette has no option than to either get over his dislike of modern wrestling or quit working the gimmick. That tag match was an easy 5*. Comparing it to a past classic such as a Midnights match is redundant as wrestling has moved on so much since then. For modern style, that was near perfect. There’s an element of emotion and it’s expression that Omega is responsible for that’s never been injected the way it is in his big matches. That match had pacing, layout, story and build that totally took the viewer along. Big near falls, but nothing excessive and all adding to the drama.

  18. Count me in for loving that tag match and thinking it was the MOTN. It's probably my MOTY at this point. Incredible storytelling, having to dig deep into taking pages out of the MCMGs, Marty, Golden Lovers, and more. Page is the shit and probably my favorite thing in wrestling right now. He's on absolute fire. Fucking loved the whole show. Main event was slightly plodding, but it was a slugfest and I'm happy that Moxley is the champ. Darby is such a star that it's ridiculous. The Coffin Drop is probably the best and most over finisher in US wrestling. Every single person hit their feet for it. Cody vs MJF was indeed southern as hell, but I did expect more of a bloodbath. Good storytelling in this one too. Nyla vs Kris was good and delivered, but you could tell Kris was looking out of it a bit. I think these two have a better match in them. OC!!! Dude came alive. LOVED Excalibur saying he's "as tenacious as a fire ant." Pac's reactions had me dying. And i thought the opener was fine, but it went too long. Not really feeling Hager's light as a feather submission, which is just a shitty pro wrestling version of a standing head and arm triangle. This ppv had probably the best build to it than anything I've seen since, shit, i don't know. I was talking to a friend and we thought maybe WM17, but there has to be something else in all this time that had as good of a build top to bottom that also delivered top to bottom. Can't wait for Wednesday.

  20. To lull Jericho into a false sense of security—-in the match, Jericho thought Moxley was blind after the eye gouge spot and got really cocky. On commentary, JR really sold that it’s what led Jericho to making an uncharacteristic mistake when he walked into the paradigm shift. And that works for me.

  22. You really can't say Moterhead since Lemmy couldn't remember the words to the fucking song. Knowing Lemmy though, he was probably on his 4th bottle of Jack by the time he went on stage.

  26. So I think most of us can agree... Wow: Tag Title Match, PAC Vs. OC, Darby Vs Sammy Mehhhh: Everything else MJF still needs a lot of work. His Jungle Boy match showed he can work with modern guys, but this Cody style didn’t work like the Wardlow match a couple of weeks ago, and was ultimately disappointing. Women’s match actually got pretty good at the end there, but they should’ve stepped on the gas at the bell, and not halfway into it. Dustin Vs. Hager was a carry job by Dustin. Hager has nothing left in the wrestling ring. His best days were The Real American angle. I would’ve had Dustin go over to give the fans a nice face win. Hopefully Hager jobs out to Darby on TV to close out his in ring run in the company. Mox Vs. Jericho was really off. Moxley looked way off from recent matches. The way he was working I almost expected him to job, but no this was the title change. Also, I was right about ref Aubrey. She came in real handy for the finish of the main event that was severely lacking heat. Jericho knew it too, and milked the ever loving shit out of those shoves. Fans came unglued with the “You’re out of here” spot. Yes, sometimes it can be a burden for the ref to be over, but in that moment it was worth it, and it’ll always be a useful tool down the road.

  28. One final weird thought/observation, but I would be mega pissed to be sitting behind the tie-dyed shirt guy in the front row. Dude was standing for nearly the entire show. Man, you're tall and you have people behind you. Everyone to your left and right is sitting back down and you're just still standing. Be courteous and mindful to the people around you. I kept expecting security to ask him to sit, but they never did.

  29. Agreed. I love a gimmick show like that and while they did have the tag title change to open and the Mox/Pac #1 contender's match that show was more about the unique experience than any match. We have the mother of all matches to look forward to for the next month. Makes building the next set of Dynamites way easier. @Nice Guy Eddie, I agree with the general notion that it's going to be next to impossible to get a logical reason for MJF to get into a War Games match with Cody after all he pulled for just a straight wrestling match. But Cody needs a big win here and I need even more catharsis. Or it serves as the necessary grand stage for Arn to turn on Cody. That post-match teasing of the turn by Page was excruciating to watch in all of the right ways. My God was I hoping they wouldn't taint that match with a turn that would overshadow its greatness. Let it breathe. And I still think it would be foolish to have Page turn on Omega. I get he was pissed with the post-match Bucks antics and Kenny going along with it but that would be a dick move.

  31. What a show. I’m not gonna do the JDfromny thing and yell something hyperbolic like “wwe is in big fucking trouble,” but with all the negative energy the E dealt out this week, AEW responded with a phenomenal show with tremendous “feel good” energy. Props to them.

  36. I've watched that tag match 3 times now. This is patently bullshit. JR never said one negative thing during the match. Not one. That's not hyperbole. The commentary NEVER broke down. The negative bias against JR by you and is incredible to the point where you just make shit to that didn't even happen. At least acknowledge you're probably too hard on JR because he sure as shit isn't as bad as everyone makes him out to be.

  37. Got all the final results correct on the main show. But I was off on how they were going to get to the final results. 7-0....not bad.....not bad at all. How did I do it you ask? The Shadow knows....

  38. Moxley wrestling thirty minutes with a fake eyepatch compromising his vision and getting everyone to hit him there anyway is like wrestling’s version of “own the libs”. I can imagine him coming up with this plan in Kayfabe and ranting and raving to Renee Young about it and when she points out the logical fallacies, he’s just like “Of course a WOMAN wouldn’t understand the brilliance of my plan!” Also...very shrewd of Cody to make himself completely unmarketable with that shitty neck tattoo so other wrestlers on the roster can rise up and become The Guy instead.

  39. Cody's theme song is just buttrock "Commando". FIFTH RULE IS: Don't bring your dog with you / SIXTH RULE IS: Go get a neck tattoo

  40. It's named 'Blood & Guts' because Vince said you'd never see blood and guts on his programming. Also, Cody referred to it as The Match Beyond before but with all the trademark stuff going on who knows. The important thing is we are finally getting the War Games match and it's going to be on free TV. I love that they do these little Clash of the Champions type episodes in between the PPV schedule. It's perfect. Last note, I didn't love Cody's tattoo but I don't understand hating on it.. like why do we care if someone has a tattoo and it sucks? Why is it something that should be discussed?

  41. LEAVE BATISTA'S SUN TATTOO (THAT HE RUINED) OUT OF THIS! Those bad tattoos at least fit those goobers. Cody's is so distracting and out of place for a super white meat babyface. Somebody jokingly made a gofundme page to raise money to get it removed, lol. It's since been taken down but the outrage is real and I fully understand and appreciate it. Oh and fuck a neck tattoo, at least those that are huge like that and cover a significant part of the neck. Gimme SKULLZ 4 DAYZ over that shit straight up.

  42. Dude, you're defending the Cody tattoo. It's terrible and I actually find myself not digging him as much because of it. Brock's phallic symbol is the only thing I could think of in terms of worst wrestling tattoos that aren't nazi/fascist iconography.

  43. Whoever said the title is going from Jericho to Ambrose to Kenny to Page should be 100% spot on. Unless something crazy happens, injuries, or somebody else becomes super duper over in no time, that should be the next two years of AEW Champions. Page failing, getting envious of his squad's accolades, resorting to casual alcoholism, proving his worth by forging his own path, and beating the Best Tag Team In The World at their own game was just perfect. Another thing I loved about that match was Matt refusing to go down to a tag team move and forcing them to hit their solo shit to put him away. Like a last ditch spit in the face back at Page and Omega. That despite how great of a team they are, they'll always be two individuals teaming instead of a proper tag team.
