If we're gonna drag Lars, let's drag him for the racism and homophobia, not the past as a sex worker or whatever conflicted feelings he may have about his sexuality.9 points

Not the best, but Cena vs Federline is worth a shout. And Kaufman/Lawler.3 points

I recommend the "Russian" category. The things those people can do in a sketchy looking apartment... *chef's kiss* Oh wait, you were probably talking about Lars, and not speaking generally. Never mind.3 points

I never had any doubt that Miami would pull it off in Foxboro(ugh)! Holy shit... Chiefs with that bye. Beautiful, beautiful!2 points

The main event was an absolute corker: GAINA & HUB defending their tag titles against the indy dream team of Gamma & Super Shisa. It was also really cool to see Buffalo & Tsubasa back together working heel as Infinity in their black outfits. The best thing, though, was to share something I love with some new friends, (and also to have my new friends meet my old friends, and also just to see so many old friends again). There were a lot of new faces in the small crowd, but also a lot of people I hadn't seen for about five years and in every case the reunion was a very happy one. There was even one Osaka Pro fan who knew Chizuki from her English events, a very nice young woman named Mie: We all got packages of Wakame (a strong-tasting, in this case dried, seaweed that is quite nice with sake) and after the show (after Kenji and I helped break down the decorations while everyone else waited) we all went to a very nice Mexican restaurant in the Fukushima area of Osaka, a nice 18-minute walk from Noda Citizen's Hall (where the show was held). That was a pretty cool meal, with Japanese, English, Spanish, and French all being spoken at various times by various people (Gorge speaks French fluently. I cracked he and Esteve up with my basic Canadian high school French). The food was excellent, the conversation even better. I caught one of the last trains home.2 points

Eventual partnership between NJPW & AEW would be great for the fans...and hopefully for the wrestlers.2 points

This sucks for the Steelers chances but to be honest they wouldn't have a chance to begin with if the Ravens didn't bench all their starters today2 points

I was there live. It was the tail end of an epic weekend in which I woke up Friday morning in Miami and didn't sleep until Sunday night after Wrestlemania in Orlando. It was also fitting that I partied "Horsemen Style" leading up to Ric's retirement. Trust me, I made him proud the prior 2 days and nights lol.2 points

Allie Kat looked pretty fucked up after her match too. Indie wrestling really kind of sucks now for the most part. Amazing with how hot it was just a couple of years ago. It's going to take a long time to build up some star caliber talent. edit: Long doesn't always equal good but for the best storytellers you need time. However, we could all use more Giant vs. Meng type kaiju battles that are sub five minutes. And when a top guy is in there with a JTTS, you don't need to go 10+.2 points

So, uh, I just saw that Luke Gallows got married to a girl from my neck of the woods in GA last weekend. In a semi-related story, Luke Gallows and I are eskimo brothers now.2 points

I shared the original trilogy with my dad, growing up. I was able to share this new trilogy with both my dad and my daughter, as of this afternoon. I liked it. No one wanted to tell me about how bad my daughter might would want a Babu Frik toy now, though? You assholes left me to hang.2 points

People are beginning to again talk about scrapping replay for the rest of the season. Bad as its application might be, playing half the season with it and half without would be a disaster.1 point

I don't necessarily disagree with the tweet but here's the issue, Satin is selective himself. This is the same guy who had no problem "reporting" on Sasha Banks when she was going through some mental health issues and took a leave of absence. In other words, fuck Ryan Satin.1 point

You've missed quite a few callbacks beyond that. A few that stand out off the top of my head: Clint tries to introduces himself to T'Challa in Civil War, only to be rebuked and told that his foe doesn't care who he is; T'Challa refers to Clint by name in the big battle here In Ant-Man & The Wasp, Hope scoffs at Scott saying he refers to Captain America as "Cap;" Hope calls Steve by that name in the final battle of Endgame Spider-Man finally initiates Instant Kill mode in a callback to Homecoming I'm sure there are plenty more. Those stick out to me.1 point

Forgot to mention Captain America refers to Spider-Man as "Queens" during the race to retrieve the Nano Gauntlet, a callback to their banter in 2016's Captain America: Civil War.1 point

Huge thanks to both @Matt Dand @OSJas both of you have been incredibly rad every time I hit a really down spot and talk about it here. This has, by and large, been a really good decade for me--I finally got a job good enough to support myself and not rely on my parents or disability, I'm physically and emotionally healthier than I was when I first moved to ATX nearly a decade ago, I am by and large okay. But if life is a series of hellos and goodbyes, this has been a very goodbye-heavy year, and I'm feeling it hard on my first solo NYE since 2012.1 point

Bittersweet. We all knew this was coming but I don’t think anyone anticipated it happening so soon. It’s. Major drag and has to be a definite hit for the U.S. expansion. I’m sure they are gonna go for it but I wonder how successful it’s going to be without a U.S. Television presence. It doesn’t seem from the looks of things that New Japan is looming for a new U.S. television partnership. I may just end up subscribing to New Japan World, I canceled my WWE Network subscription I have an extra ten bucks. I just happened to be somewhere with AXS TV so I watched the Final Episode. I think I said this after the New Japan Cup finals but Okada vs Sanada is symphony it’s beautiful to watch. This one was no exception. This one was better than the NJ Cup Final. I like how much Sanada has Okada’s number, he can push Okada to limits not many others can. They are so evenly matched that they both have trouble edging out an advantage as the other keeps coming. It makes for an exciting contest. But at the end Okada hits that rainmaker and the fat lady sings. Plus they just kicked the shit out of each other which is what you really want from a New Japan main event.1 point

I think I may have asked it before, but as someone who has never watched any of the animated series, where's a good place to start? Also, that Mandalorian finale was the shit. Throw all the money at Taika and Favreau and get them to run the Star Wars franchise.1 point

The other view is.. if I wanted to watch a US TV product, I'd watch one of the 4 promotions in the US with TV. I watch NJPW because I want to watch NJPW, not a US product with Japanese wrestlers.1 point

It took a while but he's found his footing inring wise. Some of his matches in New Japan felt like he was trying to fit the your generic early 10's style into a modern New Japan style match. His matches felt stretched out to long like a HHH WrestleMania where he out going long because he feels he has too. Cody is great now. Ryan Satin felt the need to state that he was not employed by WWE but FOX only. It dont care either way whether or not he's employed by WWE but I see tons of people giving him shit for softening up on WWE in the past few months. What's does he have to prove to these sharks on Wrestling Twitter when he is nicely employed my bc one of the top tv networks. He may not the a WWE employee but he's assigned to a show that is closely associated with the WWE. What should people expect and why should he care what these guys this.1 point

Juice Robinson is a strong indictment of the system as well. And a much stronger argument for getting the fuck out of it if they aren't using you.1 point

Hard to believe that Almas/Gargano is WWF/E's 6th 5* match. Off the top I'd have both Michaels/Taker mania matches, Bate/Dunne, AJ/Cena & Brock/Roman ahead of it. Shit there's probably hundreds.1 point

I don't tip any of those guys, either, but i do tip on tattoos. Because they're not employees; they're essentially working out of a shop and giving the shop 40 - 60% of what your tattoo costs. If they have no customers that day or someone cancels, they sometimes still have to pay something just to be there. Plus they're paying for all their own supplies. If you tip your hair stylist, you should tip your tattoo guy.1 point
