  3. Thing is, the rest of the show was good. The first two matches were hot, and the crowd was completely into them. The rest of the show was entertaining. But that main event--WOOF, WOOF. I knew something dumb would happen, and somehow it was even worse than I imagined. Rollins is going to wish he was Reigns in 2015, the heat coming his way is past nuclear. And at least Roman learned how to use the heat to his advantage. Rollins shows no indication of being that self-aware. They may as well shot Rollins in the head as far as being a top guy is concerned.

  4. Years from now, when we look back, this will be the show that people point to when they ask, Why did the book get taken away from Vince?

  5. So, how long is Bray's contract for?

  7. Israel called him a Ricky Martin lookalike, but I would also say he's dressed like Disco Inferno circa 1997.

  10. In fairness I'm not the only one who called the FUCK FINISH but even I didn't think it'd be that bad.... HAHAHAHAHA Fuck WWE. Love those AEW chants.

  11. This band "Crossfyre" have done a cover of "Badstreet USA" complete with a remake of the original music video. It is a legitimately great song.

  12. I used to be in denial that Hogan was bald(Being bald in my mind, meant being old). When I was bored in school, and daydreamed about wrestling, Hogan’s bandanna never came off in matches.

  13. Running a Twitter account dedicated to cataloging and griping about things Dave Meltzer says has got to be one of the dorkiest hobbies around. And yes I realize I'm saying that in a post on a pro wrestling messageboard.

  14. Can we have Punk grow a Don Frye moustache and star in a Godzilla movie?

  15. How do you figure? Kids don't give a shit about Seth Rollins. He's about as marketable as an asbestos leotard.

  17. I get Bayley losing wasn't a popular decision around here, but you can understand the logic right ahead of the draft and Charlotte being a central part of Fox's advertising/promotion. (My theory is we're going to see Charlotte/Becky main event at Survivor Series and that's when Ronda and co return...) Charlotte's been all class about it, too.

  18. Was going to, but he got sick right before and Finn fought AJ at that match. Thus we missed Sister Braygail vs Pumpkin King Balor.

  19. Lmao. Always knew the corny clown bullshit was exactly that, goofy and cornball, but HOLY SHIT they took it to a whole nother level of cartoon tonight. Legit one of the worst things I have ever watched, still wondering what exactly we witnessed. Laying on the mat for 10 minutes, No selling 20 curb stomps, a sledgehammer treated like an axe where Seths about to break down crying about murdering bray only for that to get no sold too despite it causing a DQ. Absolutely hysterical. I came into this show expecting to hate most of it, but shockingly actually really liked almost all of the rest of it. The opener was pretty good, a bit shocked that Sasha didn't go over and got tapped out. Don't know who else takes that title next. Some of the spots were a bit too contrived/pointless in setting up but the match was solid. Don't usually enjoy Becky matches so this was a plus. Tornado tag was very good. Orton/Ali was pretty awesome, great RKO counter and finish. Gable/Corbin always deliver the goods. Actually laughed at Cole saying give Chad some cake and Corey quips "Shortcake?!" Nice to see the green mist, wondered if Asuka & Kairi were turning heel there, fun match. And thank God, Charlotte's back on top! End it there and I call it an almost great show. but that main event embarrassment will be what is remembered, just awful. Can do without ever seeing this bray crap again.

  20. Like I saw someone on Twitter say, this is the WWE version of Starrcade '97. They had the obvious ending right there in front of them, and instead they went with what had to be the worst possible ending for that match.

  21. The Mallet was straight out of Looney Tunes. I dunno, I watched HUSTLE, watch DDT, dug early LU, did e-wrestling in the 90's... and that match broke right past my tolerances for insane shit.

  24. Incredible film. Beautifully shot and Phoenix's performance was otherworldly. Controversy was overblown. There's a problem with gun violence and mental health in this country and Joker explored those and dealt with a lot of tough issues in society. I can see why it's already off to a great start at the box office.

  26. Bald spots are pro wrestling. When I was a really really little kid, between Savage, Hogan, Earthquake and a million others, I honestly thought that the skullet was kind of awesome, if not an outright uniform

  27. I know what you're saying, but there's something tragically comical that zombies make a movie "horror" but WAR doesn't.

  28. See, this is the problem with Brock. Everything you said is true. But in all the time since he has become The Beast Incarnate after breaking The Streak, the only stories we have seen from him are (1)Brock fights a smaller, quicker opponent who takes him to the limit before Brock finally catches him and beats him down(Bryan, Styles, etc), (2) Getting caught off guard by Goldberg but coming back to flatten him in the rematch. (3) the back and forth bullshit with Roman. The dude can add to the show. But MY FUCKING GOD I am so sick of him as the champion. I am so sick of Paul's interview about "this is a spoiler" and "THE REIGNING, DEFENDING..." bullshit. There's an interesting story to be told about Brock being terrified of the one dude who fucked him up in UFC. Why do they need the belt to do it? Why can't this just be a fight over pride? You have two legit badasses with a legitimate backstory that you can do something with. LET SOMEONE ELSE HAVE THE TITLE

  29. I don't know what movie that asshole was watching. Joker oozing all over Rachel at the Wayne cocktail party was just as much about him being in control over a woman as it was luring Batman out for a showdown. I think the issue here is that people watch Joker and see the classic story being played out of the abused becoming the abuser and they're confusing it with a story of righteous revenge when it's really not. I have had arguments in the past with people about the movie, Chronicle, who sympathize with Andrew (played with beautiful conviction by Dane DeHann) and assume that him going on a telepathic rampage after being beat down by society is totally justified. Josh Trank even took the time to insert a scene where Andrew tears a spider apart with his powers as an example of how Andrew is a telekinetic serial killer in the making and is practicing what he'll eventually do to humans on bugs and auto wrecks and asshole are still, "His dad is so mean and I can't wait for Andrew to use his powers on him!" Wait, what~? If Andrew kills his father, that's still a bad thing, folks. Yeah, people can be terrible and from the opinions of oppressed Twitter dorks, apparently that is supposed to come with a death sentence. We are all stupid. It is a sad thing that Arthur slips through the cracks, but Gotham does not deserve to have the homicidal madness of the Joker unleashed upon an unsuspecting citizenry.

  31. It is. Even Schiavone says it. Hulk Hogan, Mental Patient is really the direction WWF and WCW should have gone with. Looking back, it's so clear he's a narcissistic sociopath. His fondness for the white lady was just pouring gasoline on a raging fire.

  32. I'm the biggest Anderson Silva mark you'll find (the Leben KO got me back into UFC full time more than anything else), but I have to say he is better than Anderson. He is the first coming of Israel Adesanya. He's just simply more versatile. Plus, if Anderson had the TD defense that Israel has displayed, he would have never had a fight like the first Chael Sonnen fight. In addition, Adesanya is facing goddamn wrecking balls like Gastelum and Robert Whittaker early in his career. I mean I saw him in Glory based on a recommendation for @caposa on Twitter. I thought he could be Glory champion but I didn't see UFC world champion inside of twenty months. I thought he needed a couple years at least to get his feet wet. I mean you heard Anik at the end of the PPV say he turned down his first offer to go to the UFC. Saying he is ready to be in the UFC would be a fucking understatement of understatements right about now.

  33. You know what's nice? I just turned on Championship Wrestling from Hollywood to see an obese manager cut a really good promo, then saw a skinny Canadian kid and a tubby Latino kid wrestle in a tiny ring, work the arm, and end the match on a shoulderbreaker (even though it looked like they might've flubbed the count). Breath of fresh air.

  34. Jungle Boy's line about WWE making him fall out of love with wrestling is kind of heartbreaking and I think describes a lot of us that are super excited about AEW. I also like Nyla's response to how it feels to have headlines describing her as the first trans person in wrestling to sign a major contract.
