Not a scoop. I’m trying to think of ideal venues for them in the Bay Area and I think Haas Pavilion at UC Berkeley is perfect. Capacity of 11,855 so for wrestling that would be like 8-9k. Even if they drew 6k it would look much better than an nba arena, and it’s a nice looking building that doesn’t look minor league at all. I cant wait to see the first list of venues they run in. Very curious. I think college basketball will be a good choice in a lot of places.

They should absolutely end with Moxley-Omega. Also, CM Punk would move needles for a startup company. Maybe it doesn't last. Maybe they fuck it up. Maybe he fucks it up. Doesn't matter. When TNA had Kurt Angle come in, they had him feud with Joe and had the biggest buyrates in company history. Bringing Angle in wasn't a mistake. The way they handled it after and the way they treated Joe as an afterthought was a huge mistake. If you think Punk doesn't move needles then fair enough. We can agree to disagree. Also, bringing someone into the company from the WWE isn't a mistake in and of itself. Would anyone be upset if Rusev or the Revival or Sasha or Luke Harper showed up? No. People would go nuts... especially if they made as big of an impact as Moxley has so far.

The funny thing about all the alcohol talk is that just yesterday I discovered that my wife's cousin - whom I've known the 7+ years we've been together - is a fan of the pro wrestling. The way it came up was due to drinking talk. It was a cookout/1st birthday party for my littlest one and people were drinking summer beers. Somebody had some Narragansett shandy and I said how those go down TOO easy, and when I go see wrestling in Massachusetts I always double fist. I thought it was gonna be a throwaway comment and he says how he's gone to a bunch of NXT and ROH in Lowell (I usually hit up Evolve or Beyond in Melrose or Worcester), and how he's been enjoying the G1. All this damn time and I had no idea he was even a fan. No idea how much longer it would've gone on without me mentioning my penchant for crushing shandies at shows.

I'm with NGE on this, Brodie Lee is forty or close to it, but there's no question that he can still go. He'd be a perfect monster heel among a bunch of guys who are quite a bit shorter in stature. It won't make the roster look small or weak, it will make him look like a monster.

I think Archer is beating Okada tomorrow. They really seem to be setting up Archer for something big, especially considering how the Ibushi match ended with him eating the first Kamigoye and not going down. I can see him getting a title shot before Wrestle Kingdom after upsetting Okada in the G1.

Mysterio is the right character for the cultural moment we're all cursed to live in. Dug it. And the obligatory "Mysterio makes Peter see all his deepest insecurities" stuff was as good as it needed to be. Most of the action was firmly lower-tier Marvel, but the teenager stuff was carried off well by all involved. As enjoyable as Homecoming. Sold B. Edit: The score was a giant letdown again.
