  1. He didn't pop back up and kick Orton's asshole in. Fuck Randy Orton.

  2. One time in probably 1998 or 1999 which would've made me around 10-11 years old, my uncle came by the house and I showed him some of the new wrestling magazines I'd picked up that day. I can't remember which it was, but one of them had full page photos of Jasmine and Jenna Jameson who I guess were doing some dates with ECW at the time. "Jeez, I guess wrestlings really changed since Bruno" said my uncle, without further explanation. We upgraded from dialup to high speed internet shortly after this and... I figured out pretty quickly what he'd meant.

  5. Bigelow was put in the Lawrence Taylor match because he was the best working big man in the company. As he said in his shoot interview "It kills you, being a good worker in this business. They can beat you and squash you as much as they want, because you can always get yourself back over because of your work. Whereas if your work sucks, they've got to protect you."

  6. Remember a while ago when we (OK, I) were talking about Janet Jackson and her being blackballed. Here is a pretty good feature about it.

  7. Couldn't agree more, everything from the weeks leading up to it to the show itself is a reminder of why I love wrestling so damn much. But past the wrestling aspect you have two brothers who started off dirt poor in wrestling and had to hustle their way to get to where they are. And then there's Cody who was born into this and had his run in WWE. But he gave that up so he could see what was out there and from day one had that hustle and drive. At first many were skeptical about him touring the indies because he was a "WWE guy", but especially once he joined Bullet Club he more than proved that he belonged. What they accomplished is a result of their drive for something more and it paid off beautifully. It really hit me hard when Cody came out for his match and seeing how much all this meant to him, but watching in a public place I had to stop myself. But say what you want about him booking himself to win the title but he more than earned that. He'll be a bigger name attached to the title and it was all worth it seeing the reaction. I couldn't be happier for him and the Bucks and they deserve all the success they're getting. With that sappiness out of the way I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I ended up having to rewatch most of it as I was a Jimmy's and the sounds was at least 10 seconds off (and worse at time) But at least I was at the same table as @ivpvideos so it was cool seeing him and his crew there. My least favorite was Cross/MJF but even that was good in establishing MJF as a glorious heel. Favorite match was the NWA title match due to the emotion of it all but man did I also love Omega/Pentagon. The other matches super fun. And for all the talk about the timing of the last two matches I thought they worked out quite well. Marty had no shot against Okada but the longer the match went the more people were starting to get on board with the possibility of him winning. He looked like a million bucks and I hope he gets more opportunities at these kind of matches. And the main was always going to be a "get your shit in" type of match. That's what I wanted from this considering all six guys and that's exactly what I got. I'm hoping we get a rematch and for the love of everything somebody setup Rey/Ibushi immediately. While it sucked they had to rush through it all verbally the nonstop action made for a great time. I feel bad that Marty and Okada got demonized for the time issue especially considering that wasn't warranted after all.

  8. This has been a terrible summer for me. I have been enduring a lot of problems. One being my issues with the apartment owner came to a head finally. I have been trying to find a new home and it has been incredibly difficult finding a new home. This is on top of family issues I can't fully get into. But I think I might have finally found a new home. I am working on building my credit. I have no credit at all, in my adult life I would pay cash in full on everything. I am getting a small credit card and a starter loan. I am also starting college soon and I met someone. I am trying to be positive which is hard for me. I have it hardwired into me, if good things happen, a bad thing will happen in response. But I need to remember people can change, even me,

  9. Nothing about Bigelow was mediocre. You want mediocre? Hercules. At a time when WWE was filled with huge guys juiced to the gills, he was just another one of them. Herc wasn't terrible in the ring. It's not like he was Tom Magee or Ted Arcidi levels of bad. His full nelson and torture rack always looked good. He was mighty over during the DiBiase feud. The power-plex was an awesome finisher for he and Roma; and should be dusted off and used today.

  11. Piper said the same thing on Austin's podcast a few years ago and his storytelling was so incredibly wrong, it's hard to take anything he says seriously. As someone else pointed out, Hogan wasn't even in WWF when the match happened. According to Piper, Snuka beat the shit out of Muraco, climbed to the top of the cage, hit the splash...and Muraco kicked out!!! And that killed Snuka especially since Muraco eventually won. When in reality, Muraco beat the shit out of Snuka, Snuka bled all over the place, made the comeback, then headbutted Muraco so hard, Muraco flew over to the door and escaped. Snuka dragged him back in, killed him, THEN hit the top of the cage splash and all but left him for dead as the crowd lost their shit. That's literally THE Jimmy Snuka moment in WWF. That match is easy to find. Never understood why guys make up details about things you can find on YouTube within seconds.

  19. I don't know, I think the look actually solidifies Hercules as a good answer. For the power guys in the '80s level, when you looked at most of the WWF's crop of good power guys- you did have guys like Barbarian and Warlord, who looked like monsters and were solid...and then you had Hercules, who was a solid worker, decent power guy...but looked like someone's dad got drunk, put a chain around his neck, and headed to the ring and threw some people around.

  20. Bam Bam was equally convincing as a heel and face. Bam Bam was never going to be the face of the company, but at the time of the '87 Survivor Series, I'd say he was the #3 face behind Hogan and Savage. His work against Bundy, the Gang, and Andre is one of the greatest babyface comebacks that just falls short. I would put that up against any other that anyone could think of. It's ashame he got fucked over by the kliq in his 2nd run, but you can also say that about PCO, Shane Douglas, and Adam Bomb.

  21. The way the employee is describe reminds me of myself. I can be outgoing and personable at work but most of the time I am not. This is due to a few reasons, a big one is anxiety, I suffer from high levels of anxiety often and small talk at work is something I avoid because it increases my anxiety. I'm also quite introverted on top of it, social interactions take a lot out of me. I will often actively avoid people I know who make small talk because of this no one at my work seems to mind. I spend most of my time in my office and that's that. I am friends with some of my coworkers but don't go out of my way to talk to them at work either it's just the way some of us are.

  23. My point is less, this happens too often and more this is something that should be fixed because it is doing harm to both the fighters and companies health. Thankfully Darren Till made weight, but every single one of us was worried that he wouldn't. The last time he tried to make the weight he went temporarily blind. So instead of trying to figure out what they were doing wrong, they decided to put him in a title fight and just have someone else hanging around just in case. Kleenexes don't stop you from sneezing, they will just clean up your runny nose. They need to stop wiping their nose and go get some cold medicine or antibiotics, or something else. Seriously, every conversation I've had about this fight has been about whether or not Till was going to make weight, or why did he get a title fight after missing weight, or didn't he say he plans on moving up in weight? The Montano fight is the 3rd "championship fight" where someone missed weight. That is a real issue that they need to address.

  24. I once asked one of my employees to try and make make friends with another employee. She told me "I come to work to do my job, not make friends." There wasn't much I could say to that because she was right. As long as this employee isn't being openly hostile and does her job, there really isn't any reason to pry into her life.

  25. IDK, maybe she'd be more satisfied with her job if she wasn't *required* to make small talk on top of it. If she's really over-stressed by work, look at her workload, has she been taking on extra duties silently? Maybe she has anxiety issues that are exacerbated by personal interaction, so she does more and more busy work to get around it? I speak from second hand experience here, my wife sounds a lot like what little I've heard of your employee, and she liked her job and other co-workers, but shut down around her "fun" manager because she had so much work that had been piled on her previously that getting up the gumption to be "on" all the time around Soozie was just too much work.

  30. I'm more into Moose's turn after tonight. I'd like to see some six man tags with Aries, Kross, Moose vs. Impact, Edwards, and a mystery partner. This would have been a good spot for PCO. The face off between Kross and PCO would have been awesome.

  34. What I wouldn't give to be able to go back in time and watch Vince talking to the cops for Snuka; painting him as an innocent primate who is frightened and confused by things in the modern world. For all we know, Jimmy Snuka could have been the inspiration for Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer.

  35. I am such a big fucking baby that I shed so many tears watching the beginning of the BTE this week. Like, what an accomplishment. What a huge, huge, huge accomplishment and I couldn't be happier for all them to have pulled this off. Again, having finished All In, thinking those last three matches were all amazing for different reasons, and then seeing BTE, I can't help but feel like this was the biggest celebration and love letter to what pro wrestling is and should be. To be nearly 38 now and to have watched wrestling for 34 or 33 years this is just special.

  36. Remember it’s Piper talking so take it with a grain of salt. They never planned for Snuka to win the IC Belt since he was so over he didn’t need it and Muraco was drawing great houses as heel IC champ. I grew up in Pittsburgh and Muraco did a six month run in 83 with Rocky Johnson then Superfly that drew near sell-outs while Backlund was either in tags or hooked up with the likes of George Steele. The run with Johnson ended with Rocky drop kicking Muraco out of the cage then coming back in and busting open the Magnificent One to keep his heat. Snuka was cooling off for the kids my age in the fall of 83, even though he was still a heel we were cheering for Sgt. Slaughter way more than Superfly.

  38. I saw a gif of her hitting some moves during this tournament. That woman is going to be over huge if she is able to do shit like that with any sort of semi-regularity. She will be to women what Rey was in 90s to juniors/cruiserweights fans.

  40. Great story from the 1800's: King Kelly was playing the outfield in the 9th inning with his team up a run with 2 outs and daylight becoming scarce. A guy hit a long fly ball that was headed over the fence. Kelly leaped up, made a catching motion, tucked his arm into his body, walked to the clubhouse like the game was over and the ump called the batter out. When a teammate back in the clubhouse asked to see the ball he replied "Oh, it went way over the fence.".

  44. I very recently watched these early episodes for the first time as well and the main thing I took away was how great Tyson Kidd and Tyler Breeze were. I also felt kind of bad for Emma because she was called up way too quick and missed out on the big NXT women's boom, all so she could do stupid comedy skits with Santino.
