  1. My favorite moment from Triplemania, by far. I enjoyed the show as a whole, but Fantasma's kid threatening to slash LA Park's throat was just on another level of greatness.

  4. Poor old colt. Say what you want about him as a personality, but in the past decade he has - landed his dream job at WWE in the darkest days of developmental - lasted 5 minutes on the main roster before being booted - thrown his hat in with NOAH just as all his gaijin buddies start their ascent in NJPW in one of the hottest acts for years - sees WWE developmental turn into ‘Indy darling’ fed and all his other buddies like Kevin Owens make it big, the door firmly closed to him because of... - giving a platform to his burned out best friend to rant about WWE, earning its ire and the stress of a court date - having a little comfort that his rich best friend would cover substantial portion of legal costs, before going back on his promise - having to sue his best friend as a last resort to get back the legal costs Yes this is glossing over the announcing/ other success he’s had, but it still feels like a couple of different choices (or made at different times) would have landed him in a much better place.

  5. This is what I'm picturing Total Disaster Insurance Man: Now, before I give you the check, one more question: ah, this place Moe's you left right before the accident, this is this a business of some kind? John Cena's Brain: Don't tell him you were at a bar. Huh - but what else is open at night? John Cena: It's a pornography store. I was buying pornography. John Cena's Brain: Heh, heh, heh. I would never have thought of that.

  6. TNA's Knockouts division was really good for quite awhile as well

  7. Because the Cell has been so well known for keeping people from coming in or going out of it

  8. It's just a shame after "The Wrestler" came out, Necro never got a big shot on national television. I mean no way WWE would have taken him, but TNA could have easily signed him. Necro vs. Abyss could have been a fun little feud and we could have gotten Necro/Joe again.

  9. I actually preferred last year's Jarrett who was too drunk to do shit and would throw tacos into the crowd instead of eating them all from the looks of it. Does it make me a bad person when I hoped that Pena's ashes from the urn fell everywhere when Fenix landed on Mrs Pena. Probably so ?

  11. After reading everything (especially about the table being lit with nobody around) I had to watch it and wasn't let down. Pagano had to go to the hospital too. Murder Clown's mask is pretty cool. Who was the big dude not in the match with all the Conan the Barbarian gear on?

  13. I think it's a totally fair statement to say that LuFisto was born a decade too soon, much the same way James Mitchell was probably born 10-15 years too late.

  16. I wouldn't even talk about Allison Danger or Sara Del Rey or LuFisto before mentioning Mercedes Martinez.

  17. It's cute we're talking about LuFisto's place when no one's talked about Sara yet, or Allison Danger, or basically anyone that was on SHIMMER 1. Basically, no wrestling fans in the US gave a serious shit about Women's wrestling until SHIMMER started and TNA presented a Women's Division on National TV as a serious thing and not just underwear matches with 1 or 2 actual workers carrying people on their back. You could also probably throw a bone to CHIKARA for booking women equally to men as well.

  19. On the topic of movie notebooks, critic Bilge Ebiri recently posted his father's notebook from the 1950s on. It's kinda beautiful. https://mobile.twitter.com/BilgeEbiri/status/1025890889921712128

  23. Either that kid is the biggest bad ass in the world or he is sick and knows he only has a couple years to live. There are pros with 20 years experience who doesn't have the courage to threaten LA Park. by the way was Brian Cage legit injured last night on Fenix's swanton to his knees? The 'X' did get thrown up by the ref and he didn't do anything after that.

  24. If there can be 102 Dracula's, 30+ Tarzans, an army of Sherlock Holmes, a baker's dozens of Wong Fei-hungs, a baseball teams worth of Batmen etc etc, then why do so many of you have to do ridiculous mental gymnastics to justify a different Bond? You're wrestling fans, suspend your disbelief fer crissakes.

  25. My TiVo magically records stuff related to The Good Place, so I have no idea what it aired during, just that they were really pushing a terrible show (I FEEL BAD) in the middle of it.

  28. Holy fuck that KO. That was what I was expecting from Gaethje the last two times, and when we didn't get that ... I thought maybe Vick would pull this one off. Nope. Sandhagen/Alcantara was awesome. Impressive wins from Figueiredo, Cortney Casey, & Gall. Also loved Calderwood's win.

  29. Man, lanky guys getting knocked out makes for the most brutal visuals. Vick looked like he was trying to hear if there were any of those shit worms from tremors under the octagon.

  32. That's a solid point! No booking is as bad as 2000 WCW, but nobody has wasted as much potential as current day WWE. The latter is definitely a worse transgression.

  33. Watching again, Rowan sure as hell went out of his way to be the biggest hoss possible in that match. If he had to go he wasn't gonna go quietly and every boot, crossbody, even the final bump through the barricade made him look like a total monster. He also showed no sign of injury the entire time. Great job. Renee's blood-spatter black leather jacket was super dope too, btw

  37. The Nats had a 32 inning scoreless steak before finally scoring in the 6th today They then 14 more runs in the 8th and 9th. This is way they are so shitty but have a decent run differential

  42. Sasha has been in WWE long enough to know how backstage politics work. I can understand her being frustrated for feeling someone like Alexa gets chances she doesn't. But she also undersells what Alexa brings to the table: strong character work, one of the company's better promos, her own large fanbase. Again, Sasha has been around long enough to know WWE values that more than being a 5-star in-ring worker. There are ways to voice displeasure without being petty. Recently, Ronda Rousey posted a photo of her and the other MMA Horsewomen. Naomi replied: "Squad goals. Do you need a fifth member? I'll be in catering next to the cookies." Naomi voiced her frustration of not being on TV. But she didn't take a swipe at anyone. Then again, Naomi is widely known as being one of the nicest people backstage and seemingly gets along with everyone. In Sasha's mind, what she's saying about Alexa isn't bad. And it really isn't. But how it's perceived by the powers that be is the sticking point. Not to mention it creates a bad vibe in the locker room. The only person Sasha is really hurting here is herself. They're not going to stop pushing Alexa for Sasha's benefit. Sasha has been mishandled, but she's had it a lot better than most women in WWE. Again, using Naomi as an example, who had to keep presenting her Feel the Glow gimmick for over a year before they finally said she could do it. Naomi, who got her start on the main roster as a booty-shaking cheerleader for Brodus Clay despite having been good enough to be FCW women's champ. They gave Natalya a farting gimmick, for crying out loud. Therapy session or flatulence on live TV, pick your poison. I don't think Sasha is a terrible person. But she's romanticized how she thinks her career should be without taking WWE's reality in account. It's annoying for her, I get that. But that's no excuse for being snide toward Alexa or misguided but well-meaning fans. She's making good money with the chance to make more via commercials and non-wrestling appearances. She gets tons of merch. She's seen as pretty important and is in better position than any woman on the roster outside Ronda, Alexa, or Charlotte. Strive for better, but don't undermine yourself along the way would be my advice.

  43. More proof Vince will never change. He's permanently stuck in the past. No month is a terrible month to promote if you give people something they actually want to see.
