  2. Rey turning heel the first time didn't work. What makes him think this time will be any different?

  3. Best heel going. The crowd reaction to Tomasso Ciampa's entrance at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV will be a highlight of said show.

  6. It would be nice if a smart crowd played along and just cheered faces and booed heels, instead of what they normally do.

  7. Raylan Givens is a U.S. Marshal, they get moved around all the time, why can't we get another justified season in some other backwater town in some other part of the country. He can go try to catch those dudes from "Bangin in Little Rock" for a couple years or some militia dudes in Idaho. Just give me Raylan Givens going around trying to stop some overly articulate backwoods gangsters.

  14. Anyone I liked got murdered, like Bobby or Tara. I basically hate watched the last two seasons. I think I'm even more annoyed that the final seasons weren't even as bad as Dexter's. Man, that series... Now, for a palette cleanser: The ONLY way this would have better is if he pulled the tablecloth at a more random part of the countdown, like at 6. This is such a Raylan thing to do though.

  17. I also got an Eva Marie with talent vibe from Scarlett Bordeaux's character. Tessa Blanchard is great. I'm glad she gets to be a star in Impact. I feel like she would be lost in the shuffle on WWE's main roster. I'd like to see Rebel get some wins and not just used as a job girl. I'd also like to see Impact bring Rachel Ellering back.

  18. I booked a weekend trip mainly to see the indy shows on 8/4 (Mexa Wrestling w/ Fenix vs Titan, Bandido/Flamita teaming & other stuff + Pura Raza with Chris Daniels vs Hechicero & Briscoes vs Volador Jr/Rey Cometa) and accidentally stumbled onto the most loaded Arena Mexico show of the year the night before! I still can't believe it. Already got my tickets (they didn't even raise prices!) FYI Front row is $20 US.

  21. Maybe because the build up was so great, The Shield vs. The Wyatts is five stars in my book, even in spite of the less than great ending with Ambrose disappearing through the crowd. It's ashame we never got a proper blowoff, since the Shield then moved on to the Authority/Daniel Bryan angle and ended up with Kane and the New Age Outlaws, then Evolution. Bray really shouldn't have been sacrificed to Cena. WM30 should have been the blowoff to the Wyatt's/Shield feud. Then, Roman should have been the one to sell out to the Authority later in the year.

  23. I didn't love Omega/Juice, but I'd honestly put most of the onus on Omega. They started out with a good story of Omega being too pure to go after the hand and Juice, with his back up against the wall in the standings, coming out on fire and really dominating the champ for a while. The problem started when Kenny finally gave in and kicked Juice's hand. That should've been the turning point of the match, with Kenny showing a champion's killer instinct by really going after the weakness. Not only would it have built some sympathy for Juice that would've helped this particular match, but it also would've continued telling the story of what is separating Juice from the true top guys in the company. But instead Omega just kinda goes on with his Best Bout Routine, only occasionally acknowledging the hand when it presents itself for a neat spot (the blocked V-Trigger that hurts Juice). As a result, the match just has no heat, and while I like the *idea* of the finish (Juice's G1 frustration boiling over and getting the best of him, leaving himself open for a killshot), it didn't really feel earned because the rest of the match was such a heatless back-and-forth For that ending to work, it really needed to feel like Juice knew he had just missed his best shot at winning, but it didn't because Juice was right there with him all the way.

  24. One of the best parts about Tessa is that she's only 23, so she could make her name in Impact for another 5 years and still be in her prime for a WWE run (if she wanted to). It's the same point somebody made about Velveteen Dream: they're great now and there's a lot left to go.

  25. I give VC tons of credit because I would never have expected him to last this long, especially once the athleticism started to fade. He's really been doing the work and I respect that. Westbrook got jokes:

  27. And now I'm down the rabbit hole. Look, can we just appreciate how fucking awesome Timothy Olyphant is at playing characters that are pissed off or angry? I can't recall more than a few scenes in Deadwood where he smiles. In Justified, it's like that anger is dialed down while the cockiness and being an asshole are dialed up. Then you have Santa Clarita Diet where he owns all of the comedic dialogue. It's a shame that Bill Paxton passed away for many reasons, but I always wanted a movie or a tv show where Bill Paxton, Timothy Olyphant, Josh Duhamel, and Johnny Knoxville are all brothers running some kind of business that Knoxville finds a way to screw up.

  28. With most crowds if you announce that Wheatus is playing at a wrestling show you are like "cool". But with that fan base that consists of a bunch of IWA Mid South and CZW fans, that place is going to be nuts for them. This will be wrestling version of the people at Skynard fans screaming 'FREEBIRD' the entire concert because that is what they came for

  30. So the approvals for my promotion have been caught up in corporate bureaucratic hell and my boss has been kind of evasive, so I figured it had gotten spiked and she was avoiding telling me. Nope! She called yesterday to let me know the approvals had come through and they were backdating the promotion (and the raise) to June. So I'm a real salaried employee now. Does this mean I have to stop screwing around on the board and start working at work?

  31. They're eventually (like this year or next year) re-releasing 3-5 as PS4 digital downloads, completely due to the ton of fans the series has gained in the West since the release of Yakuza 0.

  32. Scarlett is going where I believe the WWE wanted to take Eva Marie so this should be fun to watch. "Hot Shame" indeed! I liked the Tessa/Rebel squash. I really like Tessa's offense.

  33. Yeah, latter-day Sons (and Mad Men) have been playing on Audience and I check them out when they're on. Nero as a character was a life saver because he became the only -- ONLY -- character with any kind of moral compass. Everyone else, you're just waiting to see get wiped out.

  34. -Return of the shitty sitout rainmaker! God, what a callback. I think I get what this Okada thing is doing, now: He lost his first two matches because of bullshit and general malaise, and then won against weaker opponents despite himself; this was either his new beginning--from which he'll build towards Tanahashi, who has always been the boulder to his Sisyphus, the test he can't really pass no matter how much he succeeds--or a deliberate red herring. We saw Okada dominate Tana in their last match, and know that their bests are nowhere close these days--but can Okada be anywhere close to his best, these days? (I still think he loses, and the comeback arc takes a little longer, but we'll see.) -I guess that kinda quashes the White-to-OGBC assumptions, yeah? And though the match wasn't much, I enjoyed White owning the price of his dickishness. -Honestly, I wish Page's music leaned even more hick. Give him something that uses "holler" as a goddamn place name. Anyway, Man in Black Cowboy versus Fancy Goth is extremely what I want in wrestling, and this was good.

  36. We lost Raffles to a cat thief, he had a collar with license tag and an additional tag with both land line and cell numbers on it. We did the posters and daily calls to the humane society and he just seemingly vanished. He was our only cat who would go up to strangers, all the rest of the gang run from people unless they are in the house, in that case said people are obviously okay and a potential source of attention. They all get pretty friendly, once someone is in the house; (with the exception of Sumuru, who is just a total bitch to everyone except me.) I'm the only one who can handle her without getting scratched/bitten. I don't know where the nasty attitude comes from, we've had her since she was 7-8 weeks old and she's been a total psycho from the get-go. The rest of the gang all get their dinner in the kitchen, we have to feed her on the other side of the living room or she'll lash out at whoever happens to be closest, oddly enough, she's the smallest of all ten but thinks nothing of attacking any of the others, even Jackpot who weighs over twenty lbs. Ah, speaking of which, she just chased Tyrion under the bed for no particular reason... I believe it was Zimbra who observed that some cats are just total jerkasses, and this is certainly the case with Sumuru, and now she's rubbing my leg and purring up a storm... Daddy's little psycho... ?

  41. Seriously. I was just reminded that Misawa died of "internal decapitation." Let's repeat that just in case. INTERNAL DECAPITATION. His skull literally separated from the rest of his body inside his neck. This shit's not worth that. And then, years later, Shibata breaks his brain shoot headbutting dudes. I watch and enjoy NJPW but holy fuck, guys, it's a fucking work.
