  1. To be fair, the most frustrating part of growing up in the 80s was not realizing that you would someday have to deal with a new round of brattish punks who discover the internet and how fun it is to argue petulantly without purpose on it until they grow out of it in an endless cycle every few years.

  2. There should be one world champ, one world women's champ, one set of world tag team champs, and then each brand has their own singles title (US and IC). Every championship gets elevated in that scenario.

  4. I thought that the white strap was cool and different for awhile, kinda like Warrior sporting the classic IC title with the yellow strap, but it wore off for me after not too long. I ultimately prefer the black strap in the long run. I know that it's tacky as hell and y'all gone laugh at me, but of all the non-black straps for the IC title, I loved Goldust's gold strap the best:

  5. Sasha didn't appear in front of her hometown and they aren't having this match at Extreme Rules either. Christ.. the booking of the women is approaching Johnny Ace territory.

  10. It's possible but this is no longer about patience or process. It's clear that they have no idea what they are doing with Sasha and Bayley. This has been going on for some say a couple years but I'd say at least a year. It seemed to be culminating at WrestleMania and then... nothing. Some people here thought it was a blessing because they could go all out with a lengthier match at the following PPV. Still nothing. Now we are another three months removed. Bayley finally snapping on Sasha was a moment.. but what did it lead to. Last week with Dr. Shelby went nowhere. They turned a serious angle into cringe comedy. Then this week there is supposed to be a follow up and nothing. They showed them sitting on a couch for 30 seconds while the announcers talked over them. I'll never understand why they can't book women who aren't involved in title feuds. Fucking Mojo Rawley and No Way Jose have a feud. The B-Team has a feud. I'm not saying any of it is good... but they at least have something to do. The Riott Squad "riots". What? What does this mean? Ember Moon wins matches. Cool. Who is she? Has she ever talked? We know nothing beyond what we know about her from NXT. How is it that I'm more invested in Dakota Kai and Bianca Bel Air than most of the women on the main rosters who are great veteran performers. NXT just knows how to utilize talent even if it's young and inexperienced talent.

  11. The worst part is they're plugging it as "The night where there are no rules!" Only one match is an extreme rules match.

  12. I just hit 90 days of sobriety a few days ago. I've struggled since I was in junior high with opiate addiction, kicking it for bit and then relapsing. This last time I gave up and intentionally overdosed. If my friend hadn't chosen that moment to surprise me with lunch at my apartment, I wouldn't be here today. I decided to actually do this the right way this time instead of trying to do it alone. I moved into a sober living community and have been going to a lot of sober support meetings while maintaining an outpatient rehab schedule. Life isn't perfect but it's getting better day by day. I just wanted to put my happiness out there and since I've visited this site almost every day since high school, why not here?

  13. No reason for us to laugh. It's definitely the best because it's the result of Goldust being champion.

  14. I really hate the white strap. Would like it better if it went back to being black. The story was Reggie Parks was given the penny design. He wanted to make changes, but was told he could not. He kept pressing and was finally told Steph came up with it. I like the blue and silver Smackdown versions. Its funny Hunter and Shawn refused to take them when they were unified champions. They had to wait for the Hart Dynasty to introduce them. In hindsight I like the old Raw and Smackdown tag belts.

  20. Pro Wrestling Only launched as a website to go with its forums. I think its a good site that talks about wrestling without irony, but never strays into serious business drowning in star ratings. Loss is doing a column where he talks to fans about various points in their life with wrestling and he asked me. https://www.prowrestlingonly.com/blog/wrestling-in-sevens-001

  22. Joe told Tye "Come to Daddy"*, I'm going to "Fix Your Face". *For the board members not familiar with Dillinger Escape Plan, they covered Aphex Twin's "Come to Daddy" on their EP with Mike Patton, Irony is a Dead Scene. "Fix Your Face" is the opening track on DEP's third LP, Ire Works. You're all welcome.

  23. Well, let me say honestly that it has been months since I watched RAW or SDL, yes, there are a handful of wrestlers whose work I enjoy very much, but it just isn't worth the slog through three hours of RAW to maybe see a good Finn Balor or Roman match. Tuesday I have 205 Live, which while it has a tendency to be repetitious, is still vastly entertaining. I could watch Mustafa Ali for a solid hour and not be bored. I don't see how that a company that gets so many things right on their minor league shows screws the pooch so badly on the main roster.

  27. For the record, when something cool happens I do praise it. In my history of posting on this board, I'm way more pro-WWE than some folks tend to be. Hell, I was pro-Evolution when most people completely hated it. But for me, nothing is hitting right now. There's a few interesting characters like Elias that I do like to watch and there's still some good in-ring action but everything else is stale or outright bad.

  28. What does this mean exactly? We shouldn't discuss how shitty everything is? These threads would be pretty short because there isn't much to praise. Yes, I get that there are those will will say "Stop watching" and I have stopped watching to an extent. A lot of weeks it is background noise or fast-forwarding on DVR. I didn't even bother going to the show and it was an hour away. I'm not going to stop completely it's something I've watched since I was 5-years old and I remember when it was good.

  29. Yeah, I liked the white strap when Cody brought back this version of the IC title but now that both Women's titles have the white strap and the hope of a Women's tag title, maybe the IC belt should go back to a black strap and let the white strap be a defining element of the Women's belts. The silver plates on the tag belts remind me of the NWA TV title a little bit, so I do like that part of the look though I'd like a better design and then maybe some sort of blue or red highlights on the plates themselves like the TV Title had. Both the tag belts prior to the "penny" design were nice looking, but I still love the old 80's WWF tag belts and the blue strap NWA/WCW tag belts too.

  30. I've been saying that since the start. The IC belt is basically the default top title on Raw. They should also design new belts. Can't help but notice, sports stars aren't as anxious to buy replicas as they were big gold. Apparently Stephanie designed the penny tag belts.

  31. He got a GHC title win over Misawa before he was 30, which seems about the brightest torch NOAH could give--though I'd say you're right that they never committed to him as ace. They tried Rikio, famously, and after that I'd suggest they'd already committed to a longer game with Marafuji. He also did have off-and-on injuries that led to diversions as mostly a tag guy, went from effectively fat to something more, and retired because of diabetes complications and general burnout. So you could argue NOAH was right not to make him the guy, or that he'd have been more motivated to stay fit and healthy if they had. Hard to say. But! If he's got his health issues sorted, and found some passion... he's still just 39 and was once capable of real MOTY level work. He'd be an asset to any promotion or Japan's pretty thin freelancer pool. His comeback is a singles match on a self-produced card, so he's not easing in with an eight-man tag or the like, and it doesn't really give us any indication where he'll look to work. And he looks the right amount of big. (I swear to god, though, if he works with NOAH, and those NOAH-working-with-WWE rumors are true, and we get Bryan/Morishima in 2019, after both looked done...)

  32. Fenix vs. Swann and Cage vs. Kong both were great matches plus everything else on the show progressed storylines/angles or characters. The PPV lineup is looking great from top to bottom and very much thinking about buying the PPV.

  35. I thought the story was solidly written. It just took away or twisted all the interesting parts of Freeze added by Dini and the animated series away. The thing is its not just a Snyder issue. So many writers love Freeze, but seem to realize they can't really hit the height BTAS did so they always seem to try to do something different with him that doesn't really work.

  39. This is usually the time of year WWE sucks me back in for a few months of the year but between the “what whackiness will Braun Strowman the Monster In the Bank Amongst Men do tonight” that they’ve been doing for the last 4 fucking months and the general blandness of the product, I’m just not bothered with any of it bar the Takeover shows. Im usually WWE first with a passing interest in NJPW and the Indies but with the G1, All In and a general good buzz around The Elite,ROH and New Japan these days the sides have switched.

  41. Bockwinkle is too refined to be comparable to Flair's character. Whereas Flair is inviting women and hangers-on up to his suit in the Hilton ensuring his credit card bounces higher than a basketball, Bock is hosting a soiree with a select number of the elite movers and shakers. Bockwinkle was class, Flair was crass
