  2. I was taking a piss when Rey came out and I heard my whole family lose their minds. I said "What?!" and they said "Rey MYSTERIO!" and I forgot what I was doing and made a mess.

  3. MY biggest critique of the women's Rumble was that too many women would roll to the floor and hang out. By the time we got to the final 4 I thought that there was still like 2 or 3 people laying on the outside that were just going to come back in.

  4. They might fuck up the entire Rousey WWE thing and she may suck in the ring but if she is coming out Joan Jett's Bad Reputation I will fucking allow it.

  5. Can we all stop for a minute and take note what a fucking stooge Kevin Kelly is, literally standing up out of his seat so he can hand it to Cody?

  6. Okada, thinking about how he just had to issue something close to a public apology (at least an explanation) for... being in a relationship: "And they get streamers in the middle of the ring?" I love everything about this. Wrestling, man.

  8. MILANO COLLECTION AT WAS CRYING! The cameras cut back to the commentary booth (shaped like a table) and he's wiping away tears and sniffling after sobbing through some words before the camera had to cut away for the Golden Lovers storming past the media. I love that man so much. Okada... lol

  10. I want her and Joe to hook up on the main roster. Just the two of them running around choking fools out as a way of showing affection. Like an animal bringing a kill to it's mate. Tell me you wouldn't watch that.

  18. They fire it off after every(?) title match, or at least every title change, when the winner poses with the belt. But since Jay had to cede the ring before he could celebrate, they never used it. So that’s why it was there. That the guy responsible for triggering it thought “This is a win!” and also hit Kenny’s music is awesome, though. They very heavy handidly wanted to signal it’s a triumphant moment.

  20. Whole show ruled. Whether it's heel AOP or face AOP, I love me some big dudes tossing around little dudes. Dream-Ohno was good stuff. There was some awkwardness at the end but at this point in my wrestling fandom, I don't care about botches as long as it's not every spot. It makes the match more realistic to me because just like in life, shit fucks up and doesn't go according to the game plan and you have work through it. I loved the women's title match. Baszler is a brutal heel and I loved Ember not quitting and the crowd getting behind her. I was worried she was going to lose and become the Lex Luger of the NXT women's division but she stepped up as the top female face tonight. Cole-Black was pretty much every WWE style garbage match in the past few years. Not bad but not memorable. I had high hopes for this when Black was refusing to use weapons then it became what it was. I don't know if I can put Almas-Gargano as the best match in NXT history but I was also there live for DIY-Revival 2/3 falls so I'm biased. I might be willing to call it the best singles match in NXT history but I'll have to rewatch Sasha-Bayley and Zayn-Neville before I'm willing to give it the title.

  21. You know, in the early game, my main note on the main event was just how good Gargano and Almas can chain wrestle, and we very rarely get to see extended runs of that now a days. But holy shit both were great at it, and it makes me happy cause that is my favorite shit. Also, credit to them for making every little transition not feel forced, once. I've watched so many people were you can tell clearly they are working to get to a specific position. That main event never felt like that.

  22. So Almas and Gargano watched NJPW this morning and said "Yeah, we can beat that"/ I don't think I've seen a match done in WWE that had everyone hooked and fooled that well. Holy shit that match was amazing.

  23. That main event was short list for best NXT match all time. I think it cements Gargano and Almas as some of the best NXT roster members ever. I can't believe I'm saying this, but Gargano might actually be a better NXT babyface then Sami Zayn, and I thought that was legitimately impossible.

  24. Shayna Baszler is really fucking good you guys & Velveteen Dream is my favorite but that main event was the best match in NXT history.

  28. Saying it now before I say it over and over and over this year; Ronda Rousey is one of the most hopelessly unnatural actors I have ever witnessed in my life. If she's in this full-time, any promos she cuts in front of a crowd are going to be eventually *eviscerated*. I don't think it'll happen at first, but audiences will catch on. It's going to be a bumpy ride. They could just stick her with Heyman...

  31. I know Mauro hate is running wild, but I firmly disagree with where a lot of it is coming from. I've seen that many people (not necessarily here, but elsewhere) think his use of pop culture references gets in the way of calls which could potentially be "timeless." And my reaction is that some people take their sports entertainment (and entertainment in general) too seriously. Most media is reflective of a certain time in the world and in the life of the creator. "Timeless" isn't generally a worthy goal or an appropriate lens through which to assess entertainment. There's plenty of good stuff out there that's just disposable fun which is of its time. Mauro creating disposable, pop-culture-heavy commentary shouldn't be looked down on IMO. It's of its time. Besides, timeless isn't really a thing in wrestling. I've seen classic matches with great calls from Jim Ross where he references Jason Giambi. That shit hasn't aged well, but it doesn't need to. It was reflective of its time. Okay. I'm done rambling.

  33. It also makes Ciampa look like an even bigger cold, calculating prick to let the match play out. If Gargano wins, attacking him guarantees Ciampa gets to cut in line for a title shot that Gargano will grant just to get revenge. If Gargano loses, Ciampa gets to beat him down immediately after his hopes and dreams have been crushed.

  34. I liked that they played with people's expectations that Tommaso didn't come out when it was expected he would. It worked doubly so, because that would've been back to back matches with heel interference and it legitimized Almas.

  35. I feel like it's worth noting that Page was the only person who seemed enthusiastic about going along with Cody's scheme. Marty was protesting till the very end. And of course, the Bucks were gone. I imagine there will be excellent drama milked from figuring out where everybody stands moving forward.

  36. Dude I got high on Gargano last year when I noticed that a lot f Matches of the year for 2017 and 2016 had his name in them. When he first came to NXT, someone called him and Ciampa vanilla midgets and I agreed. But now? Nope. Redragon vs AOP was good, and I totally bought the story they are selling which I guess I am naive. The thing is that Kyle O'Reilly started the match kicking at one of the twins legs at least 5 times. So when Akam(I think that is how you spell his name) got hurt, I just figured that his knee buckled from the kicks. And honestly, that is how I figured someone like Kyle O'Reilly was going to get in this match and be effective because from what I've seen of him, he is a submission guy and an MMA guy. Bobby Fish is harder to pin down due to his work in NOAH which he is the Dynamite Kid type of dude which was the standard in indies circa 2005-2010. I agree that there is nothing amazing about the duo and they don't standout much, however, they are good to great wrestlers on their own. AOP, however, has come a long way. These guys seemed like typical WWE Hosses that are going to be fed to Roman, but to me anyways, they are more exceptional than that. These guys are how monsters should be booked and WWE knows how to book monsters. I grew to like them and can't wait for their inevitable call-up when they fade to obscurity in the main roster. Velveteen Dream vs Ohno was good. The high point of the match came from the beginning as everyone already stated. I noticed that Clarke was not as crisp as he normally is with his moves and botched a few times. These two needed to work on their chemistry. I kind of skipped out on most of Ember Moon and Baszler. Worst match of the night by far was Cole vs Black. Okay, in hardcore matches, I always hated when guys would acquiense the crowd's bullshit and go out the natural flow of the match to grab something like tables and set that shit up. Leaving the opponent in the middle of the ring for minutes or it feel like minutes. I hate that so much because it is such an easy fix. Just fucking drag your opponent outside the ring and keep beating them while in between grabbing the table and setting it up. This match was full of set up spots like that and it annoyed me. I loved how Lucha Underground Hardcore matches cut that shit short by having shit set up prior to the match so wrestlers did not have to waste time grabbing weapons. I mean the time consumed grabbing weapons spot should be used in matches where weapons are not allowed because it adds to the story. But yeah, did not like the match in spite of the few good spots it had. The main event. Holy shit the main event. Okay, there are matches where I expect the obvious and tune it out. I knew Almas was going to win because Black won his match and NXT rarely runs champion vs champion main events for squeaky clean babyface champions that Gargano would have been. I have always been high on Almas since he entered NXT. I did not go into his La Sombra days in NJPW and will later, but this dude is so fucking fluid. There were exchanges in this match that came in bursts and Sombra would do like 4 moves in succession. He reminded me of Naito and since the two were in the same faction in CMLL....yeah, I can see why. Rippa kept on pimping this guy to get over and I can see why. Gargano was incredible in this match as well. The story structure was intricate, but also fantastic. Almas was going for these heavy high impact moves in succession. First it was the back with Gargano doing that ringside senton that he always does and Almas dodging it and shit. For like 5 minutes, Almas worked the back, but Gargano fired back with a babyface comeback. Almas then started working the chest after Gargano tried a sunset top rope powerbomb and Almas flipped out of it and ran his knees in his chest. Another ten minutes of high impact moves, and Gargano came back. Vega only did like 3 things in this match, but her effect was felt because each thing she did turned the tide of the match. She is a very subtle heel manager and I hope WWE does not try to separate her from Almas. I love this match. Easiest MotY canidate and I can't see how anyone is going to top it outside of Gargano again. This was a solid show with presumably 5(have yet to see Moon vs Shayna yet) matches. Good shit.

  38. I love the way the big MOOVEZ actually had a purpose, instead of just trying to pop the crowd. It felt like All Japan in the 90's, where both guys were determined to beat down and destroy the other guy. The fact that a bunch of their moves missed fed right into the story that they were giving their strongest efforts at bringing the death. The fact that the crowd chanted "Thank you, Candice" demonstrated the power of Zelina's presence and character. She only does one or two things the whole match, but the crowd is relieved to get her out of there. Fantastic heelery.

  41. in brief: -Da PG Hit Squad is probably getting called up soon, but I still think every time they don't turn indie boys into clouds of red mist is a missed opportunity -Dream Actually "KOing" Hero might be the most they've ever put a heel over. Straight up, only faces are supposed to successfully accomplish their promises. -Baszler/Moon was like watching a cosplayer fight in battlarts, and I'm here for it. -Black/Cole was stupid as fuck. "I know it's an extreme rules match but we're just gonna wait like twenty minutes to come out and murder the babyface OH NO WE FAILED TO MURDER THE BABYFACE." check out your good friends, Adam Cole. how good are your good, good friends -every pale fucker screwfacing at sombra's entrance and then victory makes me hope he never drops the NXT title to anyone but another luchador, just to make 'em choke on it EDIT: also, what's with no heels ever going for count out victories any more. like there's three points on almas/gargano where all Almas had to do was like get back in the ring and sit still to win the match, but he brought him back in and got Comeback'd

  43. I just read the article about it. 38 Coliseum Videos are being added. There were 138 tapes before they dropped the comp concept and only released PPV shows. Of those, 34 were PPVs. So of the 104 left, my guess would be the Best of the WWF series (1-20) and the early comps (Bloopers, Bleeps, etc.) not counting the Hulkamanias or other tapes that are pretty much on the Network anyway (Big Event, Best of SNME.) What's even more interesting to me is that the March release is rumoured to be WWWF All-Star Wrestling from the 70s and 80s.
