  1. I think in FFL if your QB does that you just Win Outright. It should be like the fucking Harry Potter golden snitch or whatever.

  3. this is sadly a pandemic problem in the league. Shit, the Patriots have 2 super bowl wins in the last 3 years as a direct result of people forgetting you're supposed to run the ball at the goal line and/or when you have a big lead late

  4. I think most people are enjoying the interaction between characters who don't usually interact more than looking forward to any actual wrestling.

  5. Those halftime wrestling matches at the Grizzles have to be considered dangerous because of where the ring is. I mean if the ropes break they are dead. Guarantee nobody is doing a top rope move and not just because the majority age of the wrestlers in these are about 60. I have always said it is like putting a wrestling ring on a scaffold. Saw that Christy Hemme gave birth to quadruplets last night. Congrats to her on not only the babies but never having to hear anyone complaining about her lack of workrate.

  6. I'm only about 15 minutes I to this weeks show but pretty sure nothing else is going to touch the opening segment with Jay Lethal confronting Dalton Castle and Castle saying how Lethal had ignored him before now and hadn't even sent him a friend request on Facebook which led to a "Be his friend " chant which was great. Then Castle asked him why he was out here and Lethal said it was pretty obvious why he was out there and some guy yells "The Boys!" which made the entire audience laugh.

  7. If Kawada beat Misawa on June 3, 1994, then his tag triumph a year later in what I consider the best match ever wouldn't be nearly as meaningful. So, yeah, I totally see your point.

  8. Didn't have time to read everyone else's comments so forgive any redundancies. But here are my quick thoughts on the top 3 matches: - Tanahashi vs. Jay: Totally unfair expectations put on Jay but even with that as a caveat I don't think he did very well at all. I agree wit whoever said he is too babyfaced for this gimmick and his endless tauntings about "Who's the ace??" felt like childish tantrums. He looked (understandably) scared and uncomfortable throughout and on top of that he lost so I feel like it's gonna be a long road back to the top for him. Tanahashi was perfect. He is always perfect. He could barely move around in there but it was like watching Kobashi work magic in 2005 with no knees seeing him carry this young hopeful through what ended up being a pretty darn good match in spite of itself. Nothing against Jay, I'm not writing him off based on one match but I think he's got a long way to go before he's a believable threat to Okada and Omega. - Omega vs Jericho: This was great. Tons of props to Jericho for putting this performance together. He clearly has a whole late chapter revitalization to his career that this is only the beginning of. I'm not as high on Kenny as most people which is to say I'd put him in the top 10 workers in the world right now rather than 5 (behind Okada, Tanahashi, Naito, Miyahara and Suwama) but he was excellent here throughout. I popped a bunch at the home stretch. Okada vs Naito: I have so much good to say about this. I was enthralled from start to finish. I'm going to make three highly contentious statements here: 1) By mid-way through this match I started realizing Okada needs to win, 2) I think this was an easy five-star classic and maybe better than last year's Okada/Omega main event, 3) I don't think Naito is all that damaged by this loss, and if he is, then it probably wasn't meant to be anyway. I don't really see Naito having "his time". Kawada is the greatest wrestler who ever lived and I'm not sure he was really meant to have "his time" either---his most dramatic stories against Misawa come in his losses and his tag team victories. There's a poetry in some guys always losing, and sometimes giving them the big win just for the sake of doing it isn't satisfying---see, for example, Sting finally beating Flair. With Okada right now you have the potential to build something truly legendary and a throwback to the era when a champ would hold the title for years on end. I worry he might end up crippled and vacating the title before that can happen but if he keeps healthy and going at the pace he's going then this match and all the amazing matches from 2017 are just the beginning of a whole new chapter in wrestling history. This isn't like Kobashi holding the title for two years in NOAH where the only young guys beneath him were either the junior heavyweights or the Takeshis....with NJPW you have a whole host of young lions who could theoretically be pushed to the top of the card in two years just as smoothly as Okada himself was. There's a bigger story to tell here and it doesn't have to end at Wrestle Kingdom just because Tetsuya Naito may never be in such a position to credibly win again. Misawa beating Kawada in 94 would have felt a lot more justified in the longterm if he hadn't turned around and jobbed to Doc a few months later. If they really are going to pull the switch on Kenny and give him the belt then I hope they wait until at least next year's Wrestle Kingdom before they do it. And if it's not Kenny in 2019 then let it be EVIL, or Juice Robinson,, in 2020, or Oka in 2021.

  12. So I have been just focusing on Witcher 3 and it is amazing. I never usually follow the hype with games but this game has grabbed me like no other in the last few years. Beautiful game and focused story make it a blast to play. The side quest have been so much fun and I just got to Novigrad at level 13. It is one of the few games my wife will sometimes watch me play for a bit.

  22. It was a tough dynamic to get behind: two notional heels who are extremely popular (Dunne has half-turned face, Gallagher's heel turn on 205 Live possibly not treated as canon here) with no real peril in the match. Also, it had just followed Banks & Ospreay being AMAZING so, yeah, a little bit down.

  23. He looks like a guy in his 20s because he is. He's got a babyface, but he can make it work. Also, Marty Scurll should return to his old gimmick. PARTY BOY!

  27. Triplette is terrible and proof the league wants bad referees. Admittedly that whole "punter draws a Running Into The Kicker penalty by kicking a guy and then falling down, so we have to call that even though we know it's horseshit, so let's conference until we come up with something offsetting to call on KC" sequence was amusingly transparent, and became hilarious when the returner fumbled anyway and the Chiefs came out of the deal 40 yards + ball ahead. EDIT: and while I was typing that up apparently the Chiefs turned the ball back over. This game is now 1996 ECW and Sabu & The Public Enemy are taking turns missing table dives at each other.

  29. It's not really that bad here, I mean it is winter and so it will be chilly, but nothing like what you guys on the east coast are going through. It IS considerably colder than it was last week, so much so that we're usually waking up with six or seven (out of a possible ten) cats crowding into the bed with us. For the record, 1-3 is cute and enjoyable (they're like little portable heaters that purr), 4-5 is kind of crowded and annoying, 6-7 is just insufferable; as you know that as soon as you move, the fight will start...

  33. I have a working theory that the Tanahashi match was probably going to be Shibata, and that Shibata was kind of the glue holding things together wrt the wrestling keeping more of a realistic feeling. His absence is keenly felt. Particularly by me. I enjoyed WK12 & NYD but I feel there is a definite PWG/fantasy fight thing happening in NJPW that I would love to have reigned in a little.

  34. Well it is going to take a beyond Chiefs level of choke to blow this game. Titans D don't really have an answer for their speed and I don't remember them being a great comeback team.

  35. I'm generally ok with Kenny's goofy antics, but I really wish he had toned it down for WK this year. They framed the match as a hate-filled brawl. Nothing says "I'm ready to fight" like dressing as an extra from Stargate, complete with giant space gun. Then again, Okada wore his zubaz to a major title defense, so what do I know.

  37. yeah that made no sense - Cody beats a guy who beat him - Kenny runs out and stops him bcs feelings - "we need to stop fighting" - "let's get this guy in from New Zealand who claims he has a girlfriend, she's at another school, you haven't seen her, and she has D cups" - ??????? - profit

  38. This absolutely feels like Misawa beating Kawada in '94. It's the result I deep down wanted but I'm still in disbelief they didn't pull the trigger on Naito.

  40. Yes to both. Hearing the following two songs were huge markout moments for me: Guys, the base building portion of the game is a game all in itself. Shares some similarities with Fallout Shelter, needing power, food, water, and defense. Some of it's a bit clunky but it's pretty damn neat.
