Dave has routinely said he doesn't need an editor and has turned down offers from people who are willing to help him put together an issue I don't think that allows him to get a pass when he frequently writes passages that have become to be known as "Dave speak" EDIT - he also charges people for the Newsletter. It isn't snarky for a costumer to say "Geez... that paragraph was poor". That is like saying if you went to a independent film that was written, directed, starred one guy who can't criticize it because he did it all himself.

The focus of the discussion in the thread may appear to be only on women since they appear to make up the majority of the victims who are actually reporting. Statistically, that is impossible. We know that men are also being preyed upon as well and we can only hope that they find the courage to speak up and call out their offenders. I think that it is sad that men who have been assaulted in the past may refuse to report because they think that submission to such behavior is a ding to their masculinity. Being taken advantage of by another man does not mean that you are somehow less of a man. It means that some other male used his position and influence to take advantage of you. Sexual assault is about power and control; not sex. It is not something born out of affection or anything decent or good. I see Rotten Tomatoes as a good basic way to sort of see where critics generally fell on a certain film's release. However, I think part of the problem is that studios are quick to adopt the certified fresh label as some sort of badge of honor for the film.

I appreciate Al's response but can't help but wonder what would have happened if there wasn't a photo. Would he be as ashamed and sorry as he was in that statement? The key to enjoying this movie may be to not expect this to be better than BvS and then be pleasantly surprised.

Less than Dave speak, the thing that always bugs me is when a fact gets repeated two or three times in a section, since it was probably written in chunks over the week and dave didnt go back and reread it.

And the show runner is married to a TERF, so it gets a bit tricky. We all want more trans representation, but it's problematic.

I am comforted that most of the negative reviewers aren't bashing the show because they think it is too violent. Truth be told, the "less talking, more bullets" sentiment from some of the rotten reviews makes me think that they believe it isn't violent enough.
