He's our favorite, every single one of us. Our favorite what? Does it even matter? You know it's true. He's just our favorite. Within the last 48 hours, I swear to you that I told my kid "Win if you can, lose if you must, but always cheat." The Brain shaped every kid who grew up to be a smartass on this board, and that's all of us.

I'm sure Monsoon is meeting him at the pearly gates and threatening to have him thrown out of there. RIP.

Back around 2005, Bobby appeared on this ROH show I went to at the Rexplex in North Jersey. Before the show, he was taking pictures with fans for ten bucks a Polaroid. Of course I was on that shit in a heartbeat. When I handed the photo guy a twenty and he gave me my change, the twenty fell on the floor and he didn't see it. I said, "Hey man, you dropped that twenty." Bobby puts his arm around me for the pose and says to me, "You're not originally from New Jersey, are you?" I say, "No." He says, "I know, cause if you were you woulda kept that twenty." And then the pic was taken. Rest in peace to the greatest of all time.

It's been said quite a few times on here over the years, his call on Royal Rumble 92 is one of the greatest commentary performances ever. Such a genius.

I think what made Bobby stand out is that he was a great comedian who just happened to be in pro wrestling. He had the wit of Groucho and the physical comedy chops of the Stooges. The man was a genius at what he did.

An amazing talent in-ring and out. Bobby Heenan did the most important single thing in wrestling as good as anyone ever has, both as a wrestler and as a manager; he made everyone around him better. When paired with the average, he made them seem excellent, when paired with the excellent, (such as Nick Bockwinkel), magic happened. Thank you , Mr. Heenan and Godspeed.

Never forget, he was right about Hogan all along. RIP Brain.

I got to shake his hand and thank him for being such a huge part of my childhood once. It's always been a treasured memory, and it means more now. He was the best, full stop.

Bobby Heenan's call of the '92 Rumble not only transcends into all time great sporting event broadcasting, but deserved an Emmy for the character work he brought to it. An ensemble cast of approximately fifty and he made every single one of them seem super important to the broadcast. I don't think I re-rented a tape from video stores more, and it still gets a play on the Network every few months from me. His performances on mainstream media shows like Arsenio Hall and Bill Maher showed talents were wasted on wrestling. The guy just never got beat verbally. Ever. You wanted an opinion on his opinions, and you cared one way or another about people simply because he had an opinion on them to begin with. Sad day.

Rewatching Royal Rumble '92. This performance is still freaking legendary 25 years later. *Piper hits someone to save Flair* "I never thought I'd say this, but thank you, Roddy. It's a kilt. It's not a skirt, it's a kilt." *Piper goes after Flair* "YOU NO-GOOD CREEP! YOU SKIRT-WEARING FREAK! IT'S NOT A KILT, IT'S A SKIRT!"

At least he gets to call matches with Gorilla again. By the way, it was a skirt, not a kilt. RIP Brain.

very sad news. definitely the best manager I've ever seen and its not even close. Probably my favorite color commentator as well hell probably my fav wretstling commentator period. Such great wit and timing but always willing to be the butt of the joke such a perfect heel.

Godspeed, Heenan. Dude was the voice of my childhood in many ways.

my wrestling fandom is more a function of Bobby Heenan, the hilariously biased heel color analyst, than any other individual. main events are one thing but I'd watch entire shows and every match on them, no matter how non-compelling the matchup itself might be, just to hear Heenan react to it. comedic timing that would rival any stand-up legend. his voice is imprinted on my brain as one of the elements of How Professional Wrestling Is Supposed To Sound.

Remember the watermark debacle? That happened on Creed's watch. If only that one factory manager hadn't been out on sick leave ....

Death is an unavoidable part of life, but I think in the world of wrestling it's hard to remember that because these legends were big parts of our lives or influenced us in some way that we don't think about them ever not being around. When one wrestling legend passes its always a "wtf I can't believe another one" feeling with me. So sad, but with a passing I feel proud to be a wrestling fan & experienced their career. Thank you Bobby Heenan for all the moments.

just finished watching his HoF speech. just such a great guy, and soo funny. he genuinely loved what he did, and he made you love it too. not gonna lie, it got a bit misty in here. and then at the end with "i wish monsoon was here" i fully lost it. RIP to a legend, the likes of which we'll never see again.

Heenan was a great manager and commentator by his wrestling his wrestling is vastly underrated. Was he the most polished? No. And he also professed to be a self taught bumper (which i think made him one of the best bumpers in how unique he did it was as he looked like a guy who shouldn't be taking bumps) but he made everything look so impactful and every move given to him look so devastating and after the heat he got running his mouth it was so fulfilling to see him get tossed around the ring. A true innovator and legend in every sense of the word. RIP Brain.

In a just universe, Bobby would get a nod on the Emmys during the RIP montage... he was that fantastic a TV performer, and it's a shame he never really got his due with the world at large because he was "just" a wrestling manager. RIP.

Its the loss of one the greatest personalities in wrestling. Solid wrestler, fantastic manager, and the most enjoyable color commentator of all time. Bobby the Brain Heenan was professional wrestling in the best sense of that term. This was a man who could endlessly entertain whether he was being made to look like a fool or insulting someone via his barbs. A man who helped make babyfaces and heels while still standing out as character all his own. There will never be more consistently entertaining non-wrestling personalities week to week than Brain and Monsoon in the glory years of Prime Time.
