  1. I do love that Luger sells the mist like he got shot in the face with buckshot James

  2. Wait, we're supposed to hate Mutoh now because no-knees bald Mutoh wasn't a workrate machine? Sigh. If anyone needs me, I'll be over in the corner plotting to destroy the internet. It has awful opinions.

  3. I was literally about to say "I don't know anyone who really even liked Flashpoint all that much" and then someone here did. The animated film was better than the comic, but it wouldn't make my top ten of the Warner Premiere DC animated movies. Kid Flash: Lost was fucking great though.

  4. Why would he? He's been working with Ziggler and Corbin. He had a good what 5-10 minutes with AJ during the MITB match that pretty much dwarfed anything I've seen from SDL this year. So obviously Nakamura can still go.. he's in there with shitty wrestlers and green wrestlers and doesn't care and why should he.

  5. Someone should have explained the mists to Luger before the match. He's selling the fatal black mist, not the burning green mist:

  11. Also, the Flag match and Prison match are like the epitome of "making the wrestlers look stupid" matches. Rusev has Cena down for over a minute, wastes time fucking around with tables instead of grabbing flag in winning, which should take about 30 seconds. Spend your entire time worrying about your opponent escaping the Punjabi thingy instead of just going out the other door. Oh, your opponent is trying to climb over the first cage like an idiot? Better stop him instead of leaving out the goddamned unlocked door opposite of him, then waiting for him to come down to be beating the shit out him.

  13. I really don't have the words to express how much it hurts my heart to see Nakamura sleepwalking through meaningless midcard matches while the G1 is going on. They need to pull the trigger on AJ/Nak sooner than later or nobody is going to care about it by Wrestlemania.

  14. Dystopian future (because it is always a dystopian future) due to ENERGY CRISIS~! sees everyone using a Virtual Reality The Steve Jobs like creator of said VR has died and in his will says the first person who can solve this scavenger hunt puzzle dealie gets his entire fortune So go! The story is enjoyable. I think the big reason people are drawn to it is because of all the nostalgia since it is FULL of 80s references (with some other stuff but mostly 80s). It is also one those few books that has a heavy video game influence... which weirdly didn't show up a ton in the trailer.

  16. It's only a matter of time before Marvel releases it officially now. Here it is, in all it's shitty cellphone shot glory. The entire Infinity War teaser from yesterday at ComicCon, the same one shown at D23. Holy fuuuuck. https://streamable.com/adq6i

  18. Other than that left hand he ate during the final moments of round 1, he fought a much sounder fight than Gastelum. That was the difference. In the grappling department, Gastelum was willing to give up too many positions as to not tire himself out. Weidman was actively going for it while he had control of Gastelum's body. If a fighter is willing to relinquish his back and/or neck that easily, the submission is there whether you want it or not. Weidman is very savvy when he has top control, and it was likely he was going to land in an advantageous position during scrambles as the larger fighter. It paid off tonight.

  19. I'm intrigued at least. JRJr at DC still just feels weird to me though. On that note... That DC masterclass panel sounded both awesome and like a nice subtle shot at Marvel and their "artists don't move books anymore" thing.

  24. Never understood this opinion. Does it really need explaining that two of Japan's biggest stars who are both famed for their chops, one on his home turf and one in the midst of an amazing comeback year, didnt want to back down?

  25. I hope he chops you for five straight minutes. Edit: Unrelated.

  28. The beta has been extended until Tuesday 6PMish PDT. I didn't get on at all today so that will give me time to knock out the opening mission and strike on the Hunter. Not that there is anything to be achieved from doing it on all 3 characters, i think Bungie said nothing carries over but it'll be nice to test it out. Anyone take a look at The Farm? It was only open for an hour today but i was away so i couldn't play around.

  29. I have a slightly different perspective than many of you (Matt's post is fantastic, btw, as usual). I came late to rasslin fandom, over age 30. In 2007, I had only been a fan for a little over a year. But I dove in strong. I was buying DVDs, reading memoirs, renting from netflix. I had discovered ROH, and so I had come to appreciate the workrate styles that were inspired by Benoit. He was at the end when I started, but I went back and watched a lot of WWE stuff. I was just starting to explore puro, and of course his name came up there. I didn't have a decade of Benoit fandom. But I liked his work, and I appreciated that he was well-loved in fandom. I wasn't even into the IWC yet, except for the ROH boards. (I didn't discover and join DVDVR, PWO, CMax, etc until early '08) I was only an "out" fan for a short time when this happened. (I had been too embarrassed to tell anyone of my new hobby, thinking about how I had insulted it over the years.) But at least one guy in my office knew I was a fan, and he came to me that morning to say that some wrestler and his family were dead. I looked it up, and I couldn't believe it. It was my first real-time wrestling tragedy, and it was a guy that I liked. I didn't know all the stories about what a dick he was (I bought and read RING OF HELL in 2008, just like everyone else). All I knew was that I liked his work, and my world shattered a little - especially as the truth came out over the next few days. I didn't have cable at the time, and I have never gone back to watch the tribute RAW. Sounds like a wise decision. I didn't stop watching rasslin, of course. But to this day, I can't watch Benoit matches. When I am watching a WCW show or something and he comes on, I will sometimes tell myself to get over my hangups and just watch. But I will get angrier and angrier and turn it off after a few minutes. And any time I see Nancy, even pre-Chris, I get sad.

  31. Given the scuttlebutt that DC is figuring out a way to write in a new Batman actor due to Affleck's cold feet, Flashpoint could be an opening for that. It is a *weird* choice for a first film though.

  37. I don't think anyone said that. We're saying he's an all-time great who isn't known for his matches so much as everything else, including being a cool wrestler when that wasn't very common. Please leave the internet alone, I need it for work.

  39. We get a very special RAW-SD crossover event next week with the 10 bell treatment, Mark Henry reading poetry, a whole lot of people crying, and lots of variants of Mi$$ You $hane signs in the crowd. SD's team beats RAW's team at Survivor Series after Bryan sneaks in after a ref bump to stop an Angle Slam with a running knee. AJ Styles for the win. One of Shane's kids is World Champ and the others are Tag champs at the end of WM 40something. But the company still winds up in the hands of Vince's daughter and his doofus son-in-law.

  42. Imagine Alberto trying to pull the shit he does with Paige with Reby. Instead of throwing a drink at him, Reby would have just slashed his face. If Reby were to have el perro killed, Senor Benjamin would be there to hide the body, or blow it up with explosives.
