  2. I mean that Warrior/Hogan match is so bad it has to be seen to be believed. I haven't watched 205 Live since the second week, and based on the results when I remember to read them, it doesn't seem like I'm missing much. I think WWE is heading in the wrong direction by splitting up their talent into niche shows. They should be using the guys from 205 Live and the soon to be UK series (which I can't see doing anything but cratering almost immediately) to bolster NXT and the main rosters. I can only watch so many WWE style matches a week before I get bored, so adding more hours of tv instead of enhancing the hours they already have isn't appealing to me in the slightest. Hopefully they e-mail me another survey soon so I can futilely express my disappointment to them.

  7. I think it's time we at least open the window to discussing Cristiano Ronaldo in the greatest of all time category. Fifth straight year as highest scoring player in the Champions League, six times overall, multiple wins, a European title with a country that isn't always right at the top of the heap. Kind of like Lebron James some people are never going to like his personality but man, the case is real.

  8. Well other than two of the five best TV shows ever, one of the five best superhero movies ever, and a spectacular run on X-Men...

  9. Yep, I got all of TNC's run along with Planet Hulk + Prelude, World War Hulk, Infinity Gauntlet, Vision 1&2, and Dr Strange Masterworks V5, which has the start of all the weird psychedelic shit in it. I might still pick up some Ms Marvel and Squirrel Girl I need to stop going to Amazon or I'm just going to keep buying books.

  10. I'd go with CMLL C - Chinlock engagement during the third match of a house show. M - Magical powers to make a 2 minute Attitude Era TV match entertaining. L - Luck in convincing Vince that your bladejob was actually you getting busted open hardway. L - abiLity to win the King of the Ring and somehow get over with the gimmick

  15. Just got home from Wonder Woman and I really liked it! Yeah, it is like Captain America in a lot of ways and I felt both films (and most comic book movies in general) took a dip in quality with the 3rd act but got damn! The first two hours were fan fucking tastic. Gal Gadot was soooo much better than I thought, I should have never doubted her. Chris Fucking Pine? WHAAAAT? I've never liked Chris Pine in a leading role but he was great here, him and Gal had great chemistry. The war scenes were cool as hell.

  20. I thought the villains served their role well. None of them had the same sort of depth as the protagonists but you had a sense of where they stood and why so it worked out just fine. Also they had to be cagey about some of them for the twist to work. I also really appreciated, as the Good Bad Flicks review on Youtube summed up well, that they struck the perfect balance of Diana being naive but not stupid. While I don't know where you could have added more, I would have loved more of the Amazons and Etta. Both stole a lot of their scenes and made the most of the time given, but I wanted more by the end. Which is better than the opposite but hey. More spoilery thoughts on disappointing aspects under the cut.

  25. How much do you give to Pat Patterson? I mean then you get the problem of how much of Cena's matches do you give to Arn Anderson? And that's another crazy issue. I personally think that late era Michaels (and this is a theory I've put forth before) is a much better director than he is an actor. I think some of the emotional weight he tried to bestow upon the Flair and Taker matches is hugely impressive. I just think that while he has tremendous athleticism, he doesn't have a great acting range (especially compared to a guy like Taker who surprisingly does) and he ultimately gave himself a role that was more challenging than he could handle. It goes from dramatic to melodramatic to even, at times, outright parody. There are other problems with his comeback run, of course, just like their are problems with his 1996 run (past the hissyfits, namely a misguided and self-conscious need to have Hogan-esque comebacks when Bret had shown that there are other ways to finish a match as a smaller WWF babyface ace). As for @JohnnyJ's comments, all I can say is that I looked at GWE for PWO on a holistic approach. I wanted to learn as much about a wrestler and his ringwork as possible, to try to figure out what made him tick and the truths, as best as we can ascertain (The Patterson Dilemma) as viewers, which is actually, in my mind and in a wholly comparative sense, quite a bit. You don't just look at the very best matches. You look at all the matches you can; you can learn things about the best matches by watching the worst.

  26. Watch Dogs is fine except for THOSE FUCKING DRINKING GAMES. Fuck. Watch Dogs 2 is far superior IMO, so if you haven't played either, I'd just skip the first game and play the second.

  28. Rotunda is definitely lacking in the "matches" department. There's some US Express stuff (including a Spivey/Rotunda vs Hart Foundation match I quite like). I think his Royal Rumble 94 match with Razor's a little underrated, and there are probably tag matches during the Million Dollar Corporation era that are worth a look. The Steiners vs Money Inc series maybe hasn't aged so well. #87 doesn't seem unreasonable. I'd hear the argument for him vs Hunter, if only because he didn't drag down matches on the same level. Also, the vignettes with him in an office are great.

  30. I think Gregg and I were the ones bringing up it being out of nowhere, but as Craig said, it was the spark. There were hints and teases of dissension, but until they lost and it dawned on him he was going away and was about to replaced, he had no intentions of turning on him. Not speaking for Gregg, but at least that's what I mean by "last second decision". I think not necessarily having the best, most well thought out explanation and instead being kind of rambling and even contradictory works given that. To me, it seemed more natural and real.

  32. I think that's the idea. Ballers plays off of whatever is happening in real life. When they started coming up with stories for season 3, Las Vegas getting a football team seemed like a sure thing. So in the show it will make it look like Spencer was partially responsible for getting a team in Vegas. That, or you mean that the suspense for pulling that off is gone considering Las Vegas is getting a team. Either way, I fully expect a season full of mediocrity, where nothing bad happens to any of the characters and everything works out nicely, and I just won't be able to stop watching for some stupid reason.

  34. 1.) Austin. Nobody combines in-ring, character, and drawing like him. 2.) Hogan. For all the obvious reasons. 3.) Bruno. Again, obvious. 4.) Cena. The longevity at top is just stunning. 5.) Eddy. Because he's the best wrestler that ever lived.

  37. Elder Scrolls: Legends is out on Steam now. I'm leery of most CCG's but the reviews of it are very positive that it's really pretty gentle on the free 2 play scale, and it's not going to require much real investment to see what it's all about. So I'm going to try it out. It's also under a GB to download so it's pretty low risk on the whole if it turns out not to be for me. I haven't really played an online CCG since a game called Star Chamber: The Harbinger Saga. Don't worry you haven't heard of it, died a few years ago despite being an outstanding game. But the Elder Scrolls branding is just enough to get me to take a look at inflicting more suffering on myself.

  41. Yeah, what Sweetser said. Setting up to carry on the series with Drake's daughter as the lead whenever they get back around to it. I feel like the upcoming LOST LEGACY is definitely a trial balloon to see how audiences react to an Uncharted without Nathan as the lead.

  42. Summer would be amazing with them so I'm really hoping this happens. And AJ losing made me laugh at how tone deaf this company is. It's one thing to lose in his hometown, it's another to have him lose clean. But to lose clean in his hometown to Dolph Ziggler?! Who in the fucking fuck thought this was a good idea? If they really wanted him to lose I would have picked literally anybody else in the MITB match. I know this is a bit of nerd rage, but holy crap the stupidity of it all.

  43. I really, really, REALLY want to fall in love with VR gaming, but I have yet to see anything outside *maybe* the Star Trek bridge game that makes me think "This is so much better in VR than it would be on standard console". Maybe the reason we haven't done better than controllers for inputs is because the best thing for game input *is* controllers.
