  3. Spitballing Theories: 1.) She's been inspired by an old puro compilation she borrowed from Brie after Daniel Bryan left it at Brie's house one night. 2.) John Cena's mutant healing factor stems from a heretofore undiscovered sexually transmitted disease. 3.) Trained by Fit Finley and/or Meng on the down low. 4.) Honestly who cares, as long as she keeps throwing that death elbow at people I'm not going to get too caught up in trying to explain it and just enjoy it.

  5. I can ALMOST half get people's annoyance with DB fans when people say shit like "DB's not in the main event". Bryan is a main eventer. They've clearly always seen him as the guy for their Main Event Mechanic Spot. Company Ace and Main Eventer are not the same. They don't want him as the company ace, but they've NEVER buried him or tried to limit him. The WWE KNOWS how to kill heat, that it 100% not what they have ever tried to do with Bryan. He gets great moments as a face, he got big commupance as a heel. The most important thing is get someone over is not their win/lose record or title reigns, it's giving them big important moments. Nobody has gotten more big important moments than Bryan is the past 2 years, probably longer going back to his heel run. If they didn't want him over, they'd make his moments seem less important He's in the Bret Hart/Mick Foley/Chris Jericho spot, and to be honest, trying to force him into the company ace is a waste, cause where he is now is a GREAT spot to have, and a needed part of any promotion. Brock is special attraction of the generation, DB is the main event mechanic guy, they're transitioning Cena so they're trying to find a new company ace. Reigns is the company's choice, but the fans don't want Reigns. Before Bryan came back, the fans clearly wanted Ambrose for the ace role so it's not DB's fault. Life is a cycle, and we've seen this before. Vince will be stubborn for a while until it looks too silly and he'll have to cave on Reigns experiment just like Luger/Diesel/Sheamus etc and they'll probably hit on a guy like Ambrose or Rollins soon after because their rises will feel much more natural. Bryan's gonna have a wonderful career in the mechanic role, and if he really gets too injured for his face stuff, they'll make him work a heel style with his submission stuff. For now, the Reigns stuff isn't awful enough to boycott or change the channel for, so I just accept it, but him being in the main event isn't killing anyone. The WWE is just one big cycle, they're gonna hit on a guy in the next couple years after Reigns regardless, and I really just like wrestling so I'd rather not be that douchebag guy who only watches when the product is "hot".

  6. Am I the only one that thinks reforming the Shield just to get Roman over is a terrible idea?

  7. Because it's what he enjoys doing and many enjoy watching him do it. How hard is that to understand? The world doesn't revolve around you or me or the internet community and that goes both ways. "Oh, there are some people on the internet arguing over my spot in WWE. GUESS I SHOULD RETIRE!"

  8. Because they're a large majority of your paying customers? Seriously, the guy main-evented Mania last year because every crowd they played to demanded that. How deeply do you have to bury your head to be able to pretend that "DB's fan base" is some tiny ROH-following cadre?

  10. Im pretty sure the only way to avoid a huge backlash on Reigns winning Sunday is the Shield reformation. First Rollins comes out looking like he is cashing in, the Ambrose comes out looking like he is going to stop him. Then the three of them put the boots to Lesnar, with Heyman running the show.

  11. I've asked the same thing, and I've yet to see a decent answer. That's why the whole 'de-push him now, it's best for him in the long run' spiel doesn't ring true to me. I'd say Roman gets mauled by Brock to set up Brock/Rock. Then Seth losses his cash in attempt at some point. After they realize they can't beat Brock on their own they see their only shot is to get the band back together. I would have Ambrose be really reluctant of rejoining, but have him come up short in getting IC title off Bryan and snap. The Shield could put an epic beat down on Cena and Bryan when they reform. That would lead to Reigns beating Cena for the US title, and by that time that win should be enough to reestablish Reigns as a top player. Plus reforming the Shield as the top heel faction gets rid of the shitty ass Authority which is a must going forward if their product is going to improve.

  12. He knows Cena's a dick who wants to attack him, but needs a "noble" excuse so he gave him one. Rusev knows Cena has that "I'm doing this for me, but I'll pretend I'm trying to help someone else" attitude that puny Americans specialize in, as Rusev has studied the American people to know how to best destroy them.

  15. That is a terrible idea. Reforming the Shield to get the title off of Brock on the other hand. The guy has been built as such a beast at this point one man taking him down just seems unrealistic. I honestly don't want to see a Shield reformation, but you actually make a good point. Brock has been built up as some god beast and the Shield before it was destroyed was built up as the strongest stable in WWE ever. It actually would make some sense. A group as strong as the Shield really is the only thing that would make sense other than Cena or Bryan somehow getting a pin then dying during their celebration from their wounds.

  16. The idea that Reigns would be this massively over babyface if Bryan hadn't come back is ridiculous. It was a combination of getting exposed on his own, and terrible booking and writing that did him in. Maybe if he hadn't missed the time with the hernia he could've won the fans over enough to be accepted as a Mania main event worthy talent, but I doubt it. Bryan didn't cause him to have mediocre matches, Bryan didn't write shitty promos for him. Bryan didn't mumble and fumble his lines. In fact the only times Reigns has looked like a real main event talent was when Bryan was dragging him to good segments and matches. How ironic is it that the guy who's supposedly the reason Reigns isn't over is the only guy to make him look like he belongs anywhere near a main event?

  23. Well, I finally was able to get BOARD-CERTIFIED just in time to vote in the finals, after weeks of lurking! While I probably wouldn't have voted either guy to the finals, I have no problem with either fellow, and find it an intriguing matchup, particularly as both guys weren't able to use the English language much to his advantage in getting over. I know folks will counter that with the Lana argument but, to me, that's a negligible part of his appeal. I absolutely loved Rusev's hoss fight with Big E (whose downfall is woefully unnoticed), but my absolute fave Rusev moments involved his selling of Swagger's ankle attack. It was the single best bit of selling I saw all year and I love how detail-oriented this guy is. All this said, I voted Nakamura. While I don't always enjoy his matches, there's no denying that he had some AHEM thrillers during the voting period, and his popularity seemed to transcend his in-ring work to a most GIF-able degree. I had friends whom had never seen a lick of NJPW become absolutely mesmerized during the Dome Show, sending out .GIFS and vines relentlessly in the following days, and a few of them even buying his merch. If there was ever a year to vote Nakamura, I think this is it. I figure Rusev's career is just getting started and, hopefully, we will see him next year and in the years to come. Yours, JHHBjr

  32. On re-watching, that's not a super wide swing for a double-tap. Wider than average for the speed he's walking (and as The Z pointed out, he's in the middle of the damned street) but not outlandish. The thing to remember is that the cadence and technique of your cane walk is pretty personal and varies way more widely than you may think, because any person who has spent as long cane-navigating as Matt has will have different experiences and learned lessons that point them to a different conclusion (and your own physical dexterity makes a difference too) and also that, because this is a TV show and not real life, shit that's not common to the average viewer is going to be exaggerated so that people know what's going on. I don't tap at all, I usually hold it at an angle in front of my chest, more 'presenting' it than anything else so that the drivers know I may not see them. But there are eighty thousand ways to cane walk and Cox is less exaggerated than several actual totals I've known. Not trying to preach at people, just dropping the limited knowledge I have so that folks can grasp things.

  35. I read the Brock news and had this giddy vision: Michael Hayes: "Roman, just remember to make Brock look really really strong." Reigns: "You're kidding me right? make him look strong?" Hayes: "Ha. Yeah. That's pretty redundant isn't it? But seriously, Roman, make him look really reaaally strong." Reigns: "Fuck."

  37. Is Hogan the last of the dying breed of guys who live the gimmick? I swear that he's the only person keeping the lies of Andre's size and undefeated record alive. Speaking of Andre, his story of Wrestlemania III, the injuries he did or did not suffer, and whether or not he knew the finish is basically a dumptruck full of horse shit. I wish there was a YouTube clip where they compiled every interview he's done about Wrestlemania III so we can track all the changes. The WWE has even admitted that Hogan wasn't the first person who slammed Andre, but Hogan will take that story to the grave. I like how the number of people in attendance keeps increasing too. In another year he'll be telling people "I slammed that big nasty stinky giant in front of 6 million people at the Silverdome brother! Nobody had beaten him in 200 years before I came along." Hulk Hogan: I slammed the 2 ton giant at the Super, I mean Silverdome brother. I was the first person since David to fell a giant dude. He was 8'13 and killed everyone he'd ever been in the ring with. At Wrestlemania III he looked me deeply in the eye brother, and he told me that Hulkamania was going the way of the dodo, dude. No one could slam Andre, many had tried, but they all failed brother. But I looked death in the face, and in his eye I saw he was scared. He could see all the Hulkamaniacs behind me, brother. He saw them on their knees. They were saying their prayers and eating their vitamins, dude. And at Wrestlemania III I walked to the ring and asked the giant, "Whatcha gonna do?" Then me and the Hulkamaniacs picked the giant up in the launch position, brother. And as we lifted I could feel every bone in my body disintegrate into a fine powder, dude. But the power of the Hulkamaniacs strengthened me and I was able to slam Andre the Giant deep into the depths of hell. I saw the flames around my ankle brother, as satan himself came from the abyss to take his prize, dude. Interviewer: Your bones disintegrated into a fine powder? Hulk Hogan: Yeah dude, if you look right here (points at random spot on his forearm) you can see some of the dust.
