  5. Sure. The 4 pages of glowing reviews, the 97% on the tomatometer, box office supremacy and a bunch of Oscar buzz is all meaningless because you wanted to make that Open Water joke for the 2nd time.

  7. There are a lot of issues with HBK but it's difficult for me to criticize his 2002-retirement run because he always had the audience in the palm of his hands and that's all you can ask for.

  8. i normally don't have this reaction, but fuck, i'm just going to assume that unless it's Cena, the heels always win and there will be no one new at the top for another five years. It's like watching the nWo destroy the Four Horseman over and over, that slow realization that fans aren't going to get what they ask for.

  9. Bryan's main event run is so dead you'd need a Ouija board to communicate with it.

  10. So, what those of us that called back in August that Bryan wasn't getting elevated for shit, is for all you "wait for it, they won't fuck this up" fuckers to start apologizing for the shitty things you said to us. Go ahead, we'll wait.

  12. I have no idea what Bear Swamp Recovery is, but in my mind, it's a show where Jason Hervey and Eric Bischoff travel around Florida giving makeovers to chubby, hairy, backwaters gay men.

  14. If you hate Cena, then the WWE's probably not for you. Not sure what else to tell you. If he's healthy, he's going to be the top dog (or one of the two top stars). I'm perfectly fine with that because he's one of the greatest workers of all-time. But if you don't like Cena (or hate him so much that you can't enjoy hating him like a lot of people) than there are plenty of wrestling options for you. Just check those out and enjoy them than actively watch something you hate.

  15. That's where all this is headed, whether it happens tonight or not. Is it ok now for those of us who shit on the post-Summerslam booking from the outset to say we told you so?

  19. Man, I don't want to start some shit but FSW is dead on with this: Literally every Marvel movie, with the exception of the first Iron Man, gets worse the more times you watch them. They are pure, disposable commercial product. Good commercial product, mind you, at least relative to most similar fare that Hollywood puts out, but once you get past the surface level entertainment of the first viewing, the emptiness just becomes more and more apparent.30 years from now, after Marvel has rebooted these franchises at least once and special effects are 1000% better than they are today, no one is going to care one iota about any of these movies.Conversely, 30 years from now, THE DARK KNIGHT is still going to be relevant because it actually chose to be about something, not just "stop the volcano people" or "defeat the aliens on jet skis" or "watch two fake computer images smash each other "

  21. Hold on a second. One of the problems people have with Michaels, a pro-wrestler, is him acting cartoonish and the announcers hyping him? Is this real life?

  22. Andrew, in all seriousness, I think the lesson to be learned here is that if you have face to face time with someone and you are interested or sense a spark, that is your opportunity to ask her out for coffee. She may still say no, which is her prerogative, but you get no mileage out of not saying a word to her in person but then going home and immediately doing online research and asking from an emotionally safer distance. Also, please note for future reference that if and when a girl turns you down, it does not mean she thinks she is better than you or that she is egotistical. It just means she isn't interested. She is allowed to be not interested, just like you are if you were politely propositioned by a man or woman you found unsavory. As for her posting your phone number online, that seems like pretty unreasonable bevahior unless she felt in some way threatened by your interaction, whether that be what you typed, how you interacted with her in person, or due to the efforts you went to in order to find her personal (not professional) online presence. I'm not going to assign blame to you or her because it is a fools errand, but know that consciously or not, she did it as a defense mechanism. Rarely if ever can an action like that be attributed to "reporters/bitches be crazy". I obviously don't know you or your situation, but this seems to be a consistent obstacle for you in your social life. Have you considered going to a dedicated counselor for it? Sometimes talking through your past experiences with someone who really has heard and seen it all can make you look at things with a brand new perspective.

  23. Shawn Michaels is one of those guys where the people who hate him are just going to hate him. They'll begrudgingly admit he's had great matches, but they'll point out his flaws while ignoring the same flaws in other guys. The backstage attitude he had doesn't help, him being a born again probably hurts him quite a bit on a board like this, and of course most fans sided with Bret and look at Shawn as a scumbag for his part in the screw job. The hate he gets here is overblown, but it's mostly just in response to the WWE's insisting that Shawn is the greatest ever (and many in the IWC swallowing that hook, line and sinker.)

  27. Honestly though... are some of you suggesting that HBK did not have great matches during his last run? I didn't see anyone on the old board say anything negative about the two Shawn/Taker matches. It was high praise from almost everyone. If there were people that didn't feel they were MOTYC's...they were few and far between. 2003 Survivor Series.. his comeback had the fans going nuclear. It's the only thing I remember from that show. His match on RAW vs. Shelton in the Gold Rush tourney was also very good. I was there live for that one. The finish was spectacular. The hour long match vs. Cena. There's a lot more. I don't see how the comeback was a failure at all.

  28. Cena/ADR was probably their best match together, but I feel like it should've been much better. Cena's injured arm should have been the main source of drama. Instead, it seemed like it was barely inconveniencing him.

  30. I better hear equal whining from the pundits about how "disgraceful" the eventual 7-9 division champion is and how "they really need to change the rules so this doesn't happen" regarding the East in 2013 as they uttered about the 2010 West.

  39. Sunny should at least be smart enough to start cooking meth by now. In all seriousness, I hope that none of the younger girls getting into the business now look at Tammy as someone whose current choices should be mirrored. Not just (potentially) lying about cancer, but the really degrading and creepy shit she does now to make money out on the scene.

  40. I think Shawn's second run suffers because he no longer came across as cool. He used to be this generations Flair, but he morphed in to your friends dad who thinks he is way funnier than he is and tells the same stories over and over.

  42. All caught up on Avengers Arena. Still annoyed with a couple of the deaths, but I can't deny that it's been well enough written to transcend it's "let's run a Battle Royale with superteens" concept. Looking forward to the final two issues and to Undercover, even though I'm pissed to have gotten so many spoilers from NYCC.

  43. I didn't watch this show, just read the recap on The Torch and the little error in this write-up made it sound like the angle of the year This sounds like Dixie takes the contract, wipes Styles' butt with it, then drops it at her own feet. I'm just picturing her doing this and going "There! That'll show you!"

  44. I absolutely would have called it a MOTYC if two even better matches hadn't followed it on the card. Most years, that's a borderline WWE MOTYC, at the very least. It just so happens that it occurred in the middle of arguably the best show during what is turning into the best in-ring year WWE has had in over a decade (hell, maybe the best in-ring year WWF/WWE has had, period.)

  45. How about Dolph vs. Del Rio from Payback? Double turns are one of the hardest fucking things to do in wrestling, and this is probably the 2nd best one ever done in WWE. People were crying for Ziggler. That's impressive. Also, Punk vs. Undertaker.
