I have Time Warner, and I didn't know until they started advertising the debut of FS1 that I even had the Speed Network. I don't have any special sports package, and I get ESPN, ESPN2, FSOhio, and the Big Ten Network - and all are in the 1-99 channel range. Speed was 317, bunched with a bunch of other sports channels you cannot get without the sports package - such as Fox Soccer, which was 318. Now FS1 occupies 317 instead of Speed, and FXX is on 318, but I do not get it either. But it is odd, now FXX is a comedy themed channel in the middle of a sea of sports networks. Ban plz.

Well, that last Chikara show did have a dude that shoulderblocked himself through a glass door in a fit of anger at the ending, so who knows just how deep the rabbit hole is for them.

As much as I go on about hating talking in modern wrestling, the 87 Slammies was a super fun hour of TV. Hacksaw and Harley Race fighting all over the building. The Hart Foundation break dancing as Honky Tonk Man sings and the big musical number to close the show. I love how during the number, Bobby Heenan is all beat up.

You should have queitly backed away from your Luther opinion. How is that NOT a good show? Top notch acting and writing. Again I point to the Alice Morgan interrogation scene in the first episode. It's not even an arguement, it's a fantastic scene.

Silly me, but the league I have Peyton and Demaryius in is a money league, but I didn't bother to look at how much the dues were until today because I figured it would be around $20 or $25. One-hundred motherfucking dollars. Last time I respond to a buddy asking me to join a league at the last minute because they had an opening. The Rock and McG are working on a big-screen version of the television show, The Fall Guy. Despite the notion that this movie will probably blow goats because of the Dwayne Johnson Rule (Any franchise that The Rock starts on his own will suck. Any dying franchise the Rock signs up with will rule), I am on board if The Rock breaks out a guitar and sings the theme song, The Unknown Stuntman, and if Lee Majors shows up in a cameo.

To try and answer all Chikara posts: What was the specific revelation that has turned you off? As a relatively casual observer, I have found most of the stuff pretty interesting. I've enjoyed the wrestling and characters, since I really got into it about 2011. I also liked that it was wrestling that I could watch with my daughter, and not worry about "holy shits" and sexual innuendo. But when they shut down as unexpectedly as they did, it was a disappointment ... then came what I refer to as Chikara: The LARPing. I was on the forums and there was all this conspiracy stuff about Condor Security and Titus Conglomerates ... then it appeared you had to visit three or four websites for some background on what was going on with Chikara ... then Icarus was meeting fans at all the places where shows after the June 2nd "last show" were scheduled then cancelled ... Some random posts on the Chikara 101 forum would get edited or deleted, which left gaping holes in commentary from fans, that only a few fans seemed to understand what was being talked about, leaving other casual fans in the dark. Now, it appears as if 1) new videos are surfacing that are suggesting a "reboot" of Chikara "continuity" (sigh), 2) if you went to some website a few weeks back and plugged in your name and contact info, last week some posters on Chikara 101 received phone calls from some kayfabe aspect of Chikara, and 3) there's some big thing going on in Philly that Icarus is gathering, but there's possibly some other wrestlers coming along, and Icarus (in prior meetings with fans at other cancelled venues) may have left DVDs behind that have secret info on how to get deeper into the storyline-that-isn't-a-storyline. Nope, too much; tap-tap-tap-tap.

Del Toro is a lot like John Woo. I have seen him fall apart if you give him too much cash. I hope he gets a decent budget, but a blank check will not necessarily equate to a great movie for that guy.

It's a strange phenomenon. This board seems to do well 11 months of the year when talking about this sort of thing. If I asked, "hey, who's having a great year this year?" we'd get plenty of nice discussion about who has been kicking ass. But you put it in a bracket form in March and it gets down right hateful.
