1 Sgt Slaughter vs Iron Sheik (6/16/84
MSG)
DR:
Yeah, yeah- it's fuckin great. Would have been better if Don Kernoodle
was ringside. Fuck the WWF.
2 Ricky Steamboat vs Randy Savage
(3/29/87 Pontiac MI Wrestlemania 3)
3 Adrian Adonis/Dick Murdoch vs
Brisco Brothers (12/28/84 MSG)
4 Bret Hart vs Randy Savage (Seattle
WA 11/11/87 aired SNME 11/28/87)
5 Bob Backlund vs Adrian Adonis
(1/18/82 MSG)
TKG: These
two guys work each other really well and you watch them go and find yourself
saying: "Wow these two guys have a really great match in them". Maybe it
was on a houseshow that didn't make tape. At the midway point in this match
it turned into a Tenzan match for six minutes.
6 Bret Hart
vs Mr Perfect (10/2/89 Wheeling WV)
DR: One thing
i learned from this experience is that I really really fucking hate Mr
Perfect. He is sooo the worst of the AWA big bump style that was
created by Ray the Crippler Stevens. Terry Funk, Ric Flair,
Dick SlaterFuck, Sgt Slaughter all truly crucify him in comparison simply
because they didn't completely expose the BIZ when they went on offense.
Fuck, Shawn Micheals is better at that style than Perfect.
SHAWN MICHEALS is more of fucking threat when he goes on offense.
Shawn Micheals.
7 Greg Valentine vs Ron Garvin
(9/30/89 MSG)
8 Glamour Girls vs Jumping Bomb
Angels (11/24/87 MSG)
DR: Why was
this so high? Sure, the Glamour Girls were the best tag in the WWF
in the 1980's but come on. Couldn't they find two nice American girls
who could pull off a double dropkick? Hell, shave the Killer Bees correctly
and put them in dresses and you would have had the same match. Though
I guess Joshi dorks in love with Cheryl Tiegs retro haircuts couldn't bust
a viscuous load over their Jumbo Hori custom made blow-up doll.
9 Brainbusters vs Hart Foundation
(8/28/89 East Rutherford NJ Summerslam)
DR:
Goddam. Maybe it WAS the Rock and Roll Express that carried Arn and
Tully. Or maybe the Hart Foundation are the Biggest Lie on the whole
8 discs.
10 Ricky Steamboat vs Jake Roberts
(8/9/86 Boston MA)
11 Sgt Slaughter vs Iron Sheik
(5/21/84 MSG)
12 Dynamite Kid vs Bret Hart (9/14/85
Landover MD)
DR: Garvin-Valentine
was to BattlARTS what this match was to Dragon's Gate.
TKG: Dynamite
v. Bret is a poor man's version of Barry Horrowitz vs. Owen. And that isn't
as good as Horrowitz vs. Horner.
13 Ultimate Warrior vs Rick Rude
(8/28/89 East Rutherford NJ Summerslam)
14 British Bulldogs vs Hart Foundation
(9/23/85 MSG)
DR: Jesus
Fucking Christ. I can't believe I spent all that time in the 80s hating
on Hulk Hogan because he wasn't Ric Flair. I should have been hating on
the British Bulldogs because they weren't the Rock N RollExpress. And I
should have been hating on the Hart Foundation because they weren't the
Midnight Express. Dynamite Kid had WORKRATE matches with TigerMask! And
that averts your eyes to the fact that he and Davey Boy Smith were more
boring than Mike Enos taggin with Mike Enos. And fuck a Hart Foundation.
Folks will argue and have revisionist theories on the good qualities of
Jim The Anvil Niehardt. It all sidesteps the fact that Eaton and Condrey
crapped better wrestling matches than the Hart Foundation conjured on its
best day. Yeah, fuck this shit. Hogan at least connected with the audience
in a way that was in the same ballpark as Flair. Fuck this match.
TKG: People
made a big stink about Mr Wrestling II vs. Les Thorton being a poor man's
Destroyer vs. Billy Robinson. Its an accurate descriprion of that match.
This was a poor man's Rockn Roll RPMS vs. Mod Squad.
15 Barry Windham vs Dick Murdoch
(2/16/85 Philadelphia PA)
16 Bret Hart vs Ted DiBiase (3/8/89
Odessa TX aired Prime Time 3/20/89)
17 Randy Savage vs Ricky Steamboat
(7/27/86 Toronto Ontario)
18 Ricky Steamboat vs Bret Hart
(3/8/86 Boston MA)
19 Hulk Hogan vs Big Bossman (3/18/89
MSG)
20 Ricky Steamboat vs Bob Orton
Jr (7/20/85 Landover MD)
